Washoku Bistro

Went for lunch today with a friend. Sushi was good. Toro delicious! Unfortunately it was the worst service we have both ever experienced. Unfriendly. Took 10 min to come take any beverage/food order. Sushi came quick though but then he never came by to see if we wanted more tea/water or more sushi. Service was so bad we laughed. Don’t even leave a tip and we are tippers.

Today at 4: 51pm, we were at the restaurant and had a disappointing experience with the male server. Despite being regular customers, this server, who wore tinted black glasses, lacked basic customer service skills. He only provided 3 menus for our party of 4 and I had to grab the 4th menu as he stood behind the counter, brought only one cup of tea when we requested a pot after he said he would bring a pot, and we had to ask for extra chopsticks since there were only 2 available. While the food was great as always, the service fell below industry standards.

Pretty good food. While it serves Japanese food like sushi, the rest of the menu has many Korean dishes. These are also pretty good. I tried the pork belly. The accompanying sauce was excellent and was just the perfect level of spice for me. There were only 2 waitresses working, and this did not seem to be enough for a somewhat busy Saturday night. The ladies were working very hard, but there was still a bit of delay in things. I would definitely go back and try the desserts!

Horrific service, extremely slow - it was not busy, yet food took 45+ minutes. They don't have ice for drinks. People chasing the waitress down for wasabi. Grossly understaffed, and relatively expensive given the quality. Go elsewhere.

Cosy place with good service and delicious items on the menu. Sashimi tuna and tiger eye roll were great. I would definitely recommend this place for sushi lovers

Bento box is definitely Worth it. I always get Unagi, the deluxe Unagi is such an upgrade

Second visit in as many weeks. This visit was extremely disappointing. The first visit, the service was pretty good! This time, not so much. Several times we had to ask again for items and on at least one instance it was completely forgotten. The place had many empty tables so its not as tho it was packed. The food was only so so. Miso soup was good at least warm. The Chicken teriyaki was just thrown on the plate, terrible presentation and was cold. The tea was good tho. Not sure at those prices if I will venture back for a third visit, not when there are so many other choices.

I was here on Saturday and ordered a couple dishes for takeout. The suishi that I got was very good. I ate it all. I will come back in the future.

The guy there was very nice to me. I have visited some of the other restaurants on 124 street and when I walk in I can tell their judging me. If anyone is reading and you ever see my face. I have a face of of evil person, I have a really mean looking face, but yeah the dude there was very nice to me.

Overpriced, slow service, mediocre food. The seaweed was so rough in the sushi. Never again

Washoku is decent sushi place. Their service was quite good and quick. Food was delicious but I not taste the spice of wasabi. It was not spicy at all …. I should have ask the staff but I need to go somewhere so we want to be quick. But overall I am happy with my meal.

Our favourite restaurant with our favourite server for the colder months. Nothing warms you up like a sizzling bowl of Bipimbap and there's is the best we've found in the city. Some of our favourites on the menu have been replaced when they switched management; however, it seems like they are making headway bringing the quality of food back up to par.:)

Excellent service, great food, great portions and a great vibe! I can’t ask for much more. It was my second time eating here.

Cute little spot with a fair sized menu. The portions were great, with amazing flavour. Great little space to meet a friend or take someone on a causal date.

If I could give a zero, I would, but unfortunate 1 star is the lowest on Google.
I want to share my family terrible experience on Saturday. We've been to this place few times and few times ordered for a take out, so when I came in to place an order for a takeout, I didn't even think that I have to check my order when it was ready for me. So I left with what I was assuming two rolls and a fried tofu plate. When at home I opened the bag, there were two rolls and three very sad and not so fresh pieces of tofu, with no side veggies or rice. My daughter was so disappointed, because it used to be her favorite dish there.
I paid $57 for two rolls and two small steam rice, and what I assumed was a tofu dish.
Anyways, very disappointed! The worse, you cannot reach the place over the phone, seems like one person is serving the tables and the front desk. She was very unpatient and unfriendly, when I tried to figure out what tofu dish to take, since the menu changed, so did the dishes names.
When paying by debit or credit for a take out, there are no options available if you don't want to leave any tips. Only 4 options of tips! So on top, I paid 10% tips without even eating at the place!

To the business owner: if you are trying to cut the corners, your business will be losing clients. So the best solution for a food business: start with a great food and service quality and keep it up in order to grow and bloom your business.

We will not be coming back to that place, unfortunately. Two years ago it was a great place, now it's a joke.
To enyone reading my review, be careful when ordering for a take out.

So disgusting made me and bf gag. The sashimi is not fresh at all and rotten. Couldn't finish and it's overpriced.

Had lunch at Washoku on a recent Saturday. I expected it to be busier but there were only 5 other tables occupied. Service was very good. We had the chicken udon, a sashimi & nigiri bento, salmon combo, tuna combo, shrimp combo and a yam roll. The udon soup, rolls and nigiri were all very good and I would give them a 5 star rating. However the bento box had a couple of items that stopped me from giving Washoku an overall 5 star rating. While the bento box was generally very good, the slice of octopus was extremely chewy. Also, the tuna sashimi was very cold, not quite fully thawed out. The salmon sashimi was fine.

Love that they are open later! Their Food was amazing! Great service! We will be back! The sushi rolls are massive! Just awesome!

Salmon classic rolls were amazing. The best sushi I ever ate.convinced the fish used for it was alive this morning, highly recommend.
