Weiss-Johnson

This company installed our air conditioning and furnace through home depot. They didn't secure the lines properly. When we installed new flooring the line to our air conditioning was punctured as the lines were hanging loose. Weiss Johnson won't stand behind their installation and want us to pay $1000 to get this fixed. I would never use this company again

Requested for a quote for AC supply&install. Dave came over and provided estimate. Found his estimate higher than other received proposals but messaged and thanked him nonetheless. But unlike the rest whom I sent similar thank you message, I got no acknowledment from him. Professionalism is rare sometimes.

Today we had an air-conditioner
installed by Weiss-Johnson. We were very impressed with the whole job from buying to install. The crew was on time and courteous at all times. Curtis and Nico right away gave me confidence that the job would be done right! Curtis was excellent at communicating all through the process and also what would be needed for for future care. They were tidy and paid attention to all details. I appreciate that as sadly that is not always the case with some companies. Kudos and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks

I had unpleasant experience with Weiss Johnson. I ordered AC install. When their person came over to do a quote he reassured me that they have a lot of AC on sale and the one I wanted as well in stock and on sale. Because our AC was purchased in winter and they have to come back and do a start up I specifically asked if I have to pay for start up visit, he replies No there is nothing else you have to pay. After AC installed they gave me an invoice on much larger amount which turned out that they didn't have that AC in stock and they have to reorder it. We agreed that difference will be split in half and they reimburse me another half. Later this year they send me another invoice that I have to pay for a start up 426 dollars. They threatening me to send my information to collection agency. What a scam Weiss Johnson is. They trying to fuсk you up. Accounting is not interested in giving you an answers, just saying that she is going to follow up with manager, however letters keep coming with no change. I would absolutely not recommend this company with the services they are providing that you have to stand your ground after a business with them.

Got Weiss Johnson to install a new furnace and hot water tank into an old and 'troubled' home. Couldn't have asked for better service and crew to do the work. Tannis & Scott were efficient, clean and informative throughout the whole process. Also love to see a female lead crew do amazing work!

We had Weiss Johnson help us design an electric system to help us eliminate our gas line. Don was so knowledgeable, thorough and helpful. He was patient with our many questions, and helped us figure out which elements were necessary and what we could do without, as well as ways to save ourselves some money. His knowledge of cold climate air source heat pumps was especially impressive. Corey was an exceptional site leader, and his creativity in small, crowded spaces was remarkable. Our hybrid hot water heat pump was particularly challenging to fit into our small space, but he made it work. Corey also optimized our heat runs to ensure comfortable, even heating. He was patient with the work and made sure everything was done well and to our satisfaction. All the staff were a pleasure to have in our home (and it was a really big job, so they were here for many hours!). After this hot smoky summer, we have so appreciated our air source heat pump efficiently cooling our house, and our new air filter eliminating the smell of smoke (and limiting the circulation of viruses, allergens, and bacteria). The administrative staff was very patient with the grant and CEIP process. We are very happy with our experience!

Huge thanks to Tannis, Andrew, and Scott for a fantastic job installing my airconditioner. They were very professional and completed the job quicker than I expected. Tannis took time to provide a detailed walk-through of the system and helped set up the newly installed Ecobee thermostat. I am extremely satisfied with their service. They come highly recommended.

I have a central AC unit and Garage Heater purchased and installed. Pricing was competitive and the quality of the equipment was some of the best of the industry. Ken the Sales person who was informative and took the time to explain the process and any questions I had. The installation crew did both the AC and Garage Heater the same day and they were all awesome. Our estimator Don did a great job discussing the options and answering our questions regarding installing a heat pump to our home. Installers Cory and Quinn were professional and clean and did a great job positioning the unit considering the limited space we had available to us. New ducting and drainage lines look a lot more professional than what we had before.

Elie was very Helpful, explained the heating system to me for me to understand. Will be using him again!

We just purchased two replacement furnaces and a/c. Our estimator/sales rep, John Kroisenbrunner was extremely knowledgable, patient and took the time needed to explain everything thoroughly and clearly. Overall a very positive experience.

I called weiss-johnson in order to install a heat pump to save energy and gove my home ac in the summer. Don Curry came out to my home in Fort sask just a few days later to estimate and give some information. The man was extremely informative and great to deal with. I decided, by his recommendation, to go with a tosot unit and have it installed as soon as available.

They didn't disappoint. The crew showed up a few days later, and each gentleman was profession and hard working, the install took only 1 day and 1 more day to let the unit sit.

Workman ship was beautiful, and i couldn't ask for more.

Elie came checked the furnace for a leak and noise. It was determined the leak was an easy fix, line reconnected, even cleaned up the leak. He was very professional, quick, clean and very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the functions of the furnace. It was determined the noise of the furnace was due to the set up of the furnace and the functions of the furnace, very normal especially due to the cold weather. Very quick and professional visit. Contacted in the morning and within 2 hours Elie was at our home. Water tank was also installed by Weiss and they too were very professional and clean. All around from hot water instal, furnace instal and services, very clean, professional and knowledgeable company. Highly recommend.

I had contacted 8 different HVAC companies prior to Weiss-Johnson about getting a Heat Pump system that qualified for HERA and Federal Green Home Energy Grants. Many previous companies did not offer the heat pump, it was very expensive, or seemed have little knowledge about installation of the system. I was excited to find Don Curry at WJ as he had expert knowledge and experience of the Heat Pump products and options for my house.

One other supplier had a heat pump that qualified for the Grants at over $23,000 that only worked down to -4 degrees C. WJ had an option that was cheaper and qualified for both grants which was fully electric and worked to -30 degrees C. I was also given the option to get a Heat Pump/gas furnace combo that qualifies for the HERA and costs about the same as a gas furnace/AC before the HERA grant. This was what I was hoping for in the first place from other suppliers. Finally, my year long search was done.

We also got a Heat Pump that works down to -30 degrees Celsius, which is an extra bonus. I was expecting to only use the Heat Pump 6 month a year, mostly as AC with a bit of added bonus for heating once we got some solar panels to cover the electrical use. However, we have been using it steady since installation in late September (we fixed at 7 cents a Kwh with Epcor for 5 year and it uses $1-2/day in winter from my observations of the meter). I used the gas furance when it was below -20 degrees as I found it more comfortable in the home and less expensive while we save up for new shingles/solar panels. But, this is a definite improvement over the -4 degrees maximum that seemed to be available with every other supplier in Edmonton.

Don Curry was excellent, he spent the time to explain the options and had a knowledge level that was way above the other competitors in HVAC. He was also very upfront with the costs, expectations, and controls. I was much less confident in talking to other companies that the heat pump was going to be done right as many had only done one or two. I was very happy to find him in this search and he upgraded the experience from my expectations which were already high. If you are looking at a low carbon HVAC option (mostly electric) and energy rebate HVAC systems, I would highly recommend talking to Don.

I booked 2 hours repair time for today, yesterday they send an email asking to confirm, I was awayand did not get a chance to respond, so no phonecall, no text this morning they sent me an email to tell me that they had another emergency and that they had to give my time away.

I was very disappointed I called manager and he came through. They will get it done this afternoon. I greatly appreciate that.

I have used Weiss-Johnson in the past and was very impressed so that is why I chose them to install a new furnace and A/C. The quality of the work is stellar and the work was completed on time. Brice and Andrew were very knowledgeable and listened to my suggestions and politely explained the consequences of all options provided to several problem areas. The electrical person had a difficult situation with an old out of date panel but was able to solve the problem without additional cost. I am very satisfied with the very professional job done by Weiss-Johnson and would recommend them to anyone needing HVAC services.

I'm not sure how the rating for this company is as high as it is as Jody from their office or John their estimator might give some of the worst customer service possible. It's possible however because they are so busy that they don't really care about buisness as it's likely next customer up. We wait for weeks for our estimate, obviously not a problem as things can get busy and it's part of the business, we then were assigned an appointment a couple weeks out, which again of course not a problem, if things are busy you wait in que. We were then asked to push our appointment a week as they had an emergency appointment and someone had no heat, of course, we are human and this is a garage install, we have heat in our house, make sure the other family is looked after. Wait our week, the installer shows up says the unit they have won't work, it's the wrong one for this install. And then John and Jody show their true customer service, we get to wait 2 more weeks for a new install date as this isn't Jody's problem, somehow it's our mistake they didn't know they needed to install a different unit, between Jody and John we're basically told to deal with it or find someone else. Great attitude. There are many options in this city, I would look at them before dealing with John and Jody.

I have been customer of WJ for all my home heating needs for the last 9 years. Unfortunately they could not clear the error codes on my hot water tank and ran up a huge invoice sitting on hold talking with customer service for the code errors. After 3 trips the error still exists. I will no longer use WJ as I am not confident they have guys that know what they are doing!

I am so pleased with Cory and his helper. My furnace had not been working, and they ensured that I had heat that night. They returned the next day to install my hot water tank. Like I said they ensured that my furnace was up and running the first day. When Cory and his helper arrived they went straight to work and did not stop until the furnace was running. I was so appreciative. I was impressed with the job they did very nice. Looked clean and professional. I would definitely recommend this company and the people they hire are well picked.

Fantastic Service from Weiss-Johnson!

We required a furnace replacement before the winter, needed some updates to the basement duct work, and decided to have an AC unit installed at the same time. Weiss-Johnson exceeded our expectations! Everyone we've spoken to and met within the company has been friendly, professional and responsive. On the day of the installation, the team continued to provide the same friendly professional level of service and did an excellent job with installation and cleanup afterwards. We couldn't be happier and will consider Weiss-Johnson first for any future work and maintenance.

Had a HV furnace leaking water, and they didn't have anyone to send for emergency when I called. The excuse they offered me was that it was summer.

The next day they left me a message in the morning, incorrectly claiming that they didn't even do the install in the first place.

Later on once I finally got them out here, the repair guy found that the installation was done wrong and the leak was because the water couldn't drain properly. I now have significant water damage to deal with. The repair guy himself was fantastic and fixed the problem quickly, but that is my only positive to note.

I would go elsewhere, personally.

Everyone has been grsst at Weiss Johnson so far! They installed our AC and did our furnace cleaning. Bryce installed our AC and has been great and friendly, and knowledgeable. Marcus was great to deal with too. Our house is cool now and furnace cleaned for our new baby that we just brought home! Definitely would use Weiss Johnson again!

I’m a first time home owner and was looking to install AC for the new home.
My close friend referred me to Ken at Weiss Johnson and I was very well pleased with the entire experience from getting a free quote to complete the installation and operation!

I was a bit sceptical about AC companies out there due to lack of experience on pricing and what to expect, and loads of horror stories on the internet was not helping.

But Weiss Johnson quickly took away my concern!

Ken was very fast at responding his email and scheduled a date and time for the free quote, and followed up with a phone call just an hour prior to the scheduled time, I appreciated that level of professionalism!
The quote went well and I was very pleased with the price and add-one that came with it!
They provide 12 months interests free financing PLUS a FREE DUCK CLEANING service when you purchase an AC unit, AMAZING DEAL!

It took a while for the AC unit to come in as there’s currently a shortage on the brand unit I specifically wanted in North America, but the Service Manager Marcus stepped in and got the unit in within two weeks!

The installation technicians were polite and efficient!
The whole install took about two hours or so, plus the electrician followed up about 30-45 mins!
All of them were very knowledgeable and thorough at what they did, they also dust the floor before they left to ensure they didn’t leave any mess, such a nice touch!

Also the free duck cleaning is also NOT A CATCH, I called the main line, the lady grabbed my name and address and BOOM, service scheduled free of charge!

I will recommend them to anyone who’s looking for furnace services!

My furnace was installed by Weiss-Johnson approximately 3 years ago. The furnace quit on my 2 days ago so I called the after-hours number. I was told a technician couldn't be sent out for after-hour repair during the summer, only in the winter. They said they would see what they could do to arrange to have someone come out asap (as I am leaving again on vacation). The A/C is not working because the furnace isn't working. Wasn't sure if the thermostat needed to be replaced or something in the furnace. A few minutes of diagnosing the problem revealed a bad mother board, so off to get parts. Tech was back quickly and within 5 minutes the A/C is once again pushing cold air. Thank you so much for scheduling me in, especially since this week is the hottest weeks this year in Edmonton. 100% recommend W/J for your plumbing, A/C, heating needs!

Hope you and yours are all safe and well. Just wanted to drop you a line about some work I had done by Weiss-Johnson. I needed my basement bathroom completed. Toilet, vanity and sink, as well as a shower stall. Wes gave me a good quote, and Dominic was fantastic on site.

Jody was really helpful, nice and professional throughout the AC installation process. Without her help I wouldn't have gave 5star reviews. Staff who came for the installation was nice and hardworking.

We got our air conditioner installed by Weiss- Johnson. Their technicians showed up on time, were courteous, thorough and answered all my questions. They even fixed a problem with my furnace that had been there before because they found it during the installation. Great service.

If I could give Weiss Johnson 0 stars, I would. I'm extremely frustrated with their service. Our A/C was down for 5 weeks recently - they sent in an HVAC guy who spent nearly 2 hours just cleaning a filter in our heat pump. He couldn't find the "problem" and said that we needed a plumber to take a look at it.

All in all, it took another 4 weeks for them to bring in a plumber and change one part in the building's cooling towers, which ultimately didn't fix anything for our unit. We had to get another company to come in and it took them 15 min to figure out it was only a loose wire in our heat pump!

WJ is extremely slow and incompetent!

I had a great experience with Weiss-Johnson, and the service done to my furnace. If you need any help with your heating or air conditioning, these are the guys to call, they are organized, and show-up when they say they are going to show up.

I was really impressed with their technician Kyle, he quickly diagnosed and fixed our heating issue. He was very knowledgeable and experienced, which showed. On top of that he was pleasant to deal with.

Kudos to Weiss-Johnson and the high level of service they provide. I would highly recommend them to all my friends.

I wish I could write WJ a positive review, but they have provided me TOO MUCH HASSLES turning my dream into a NIGHTMARE that has EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED me. I have them installed a radiant heater in my garage in Oct 2020, I suggested Ken, the estimator, to run the vent thru bulkhead coz my builder suggested to do so, but he insisted to run the venting 45 degree down thru my gargare wall. At that time, I thought WJ is a professional HVAC company and more experienced than me, so I took their advice and proceeded the installation. But what Ken suggested is exactly why my city inspection failed in Nov 2020.
They purposed either to reroute the venting by cutting the other hole in my garage meaning the original hole needed to be patched, or exchange a forced-air heater that is not my first choice at the beginning.either one of the options would definately cause troubles to me to some degree.
The worse thing is the heater STOPPED WORKING in Feb 2021 and the issue HAS NOT BEEN FIXED since then. Their technician came to inspect the issue on Mar 9 and told me it could be fixed within a week, but today is Apr 1, I am still WAITING for them to resolve the issue. After calling them three times to get update of the issue, I started to hate myseft calling them to see when they are coming to fix, I feel liked an unwelcomed person begging their help. Keep in mind that I have never delayed their payment, actually I fully paid my bill to keep a good standing with them before I knew the city inspection failed. How stupid I was.
I initially thought I might hire WJ to install a whole-house flitration system and AC in summer this year if the garage heater works great, right now I have painfully realized that Weiss-Johnson is actually HASSLES-JOHNSON and NO MORE business with them: (

Very pleased with the quick response time! Our furnace quit working and the outside temperature was like -20 Celsius. I called at 8: 00am and someone was at my home by 9: 00 am. I appreciated the prompt service and the practice that the technician sent a text prior to arrival with his picture and Covid protocols.
Only took him 5 - 10 min max to assess the issue and get the furnace working. Diagnosis was that the outside air intake was likely frozen or blocked with snow due to severe cold weather over past 2 weeks. He removed the intake pipe inside the home, which allowed the furnace to work again. As the forecast is for mild temperatures in the next few days, he felt the outside pipes would unthaw/open up on their own so he did not do any work on them at this time. He also showed me how to replace the intake pipe in the house, once the weather is warmer and the outside pipe has a chance to open up. If however the pipe does not open on its own, I will definitely be calling Weiss Johnston again next week! I did not receive an invoice for the service call yet so wondering how much that will be? ! As far as the product (Trane high efficiency furnace which was bought and installed by this business) not too impressed that we had the new furnace installed in Feb.of 2018 and have already had two service repair calls!

Our furnace broke down in winter, we called Weiss-Johnson and got a quick response from them. We had the new furnace up and running in less than two days from our first contact. The sales person Dave B.who came was knowledgeable and offered us great advice. The technician Matt and his team were professional and friendly, they additionally installed a new air return in our basement at no extra cost. They also took away our old furnace and spared us the pain. We received a great price, better than what most companies would be willing to offer. Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend them.
