The first time we went to the store to explore and purchase a stroller and infant car seat we had a great experience. The lady spent so much time going through all the options and was very knowledgeable.

We went back today to explore and purchase a convertible car seat and were extremely disappointed with our service. The store was not busy, my husband and I stood around looking at the car seats and no one offered to help us. Two employees stood near us for over a half an hour engaging in a personal conversation not acknowledging us or offering any help. Many other employees walked by and we had to seek someone out for help. The guy seemed annoyed and provided very little help. We then had to approach a large group of employees standing around talking to ask for help to purchase the product we decided on. We have purchased many high priced items at this location and it is very disappointing with the service we received. I can understand days get busy or employees have small conversations, however to be provided with basically no services while 5 different employees stood around us having personal conversations for over an hour we feel is unacceptable and poor service.

I cannot recommend Amy enough! We’re pregnant with our first and found choosing baby items so overwhelming. Amy spent over 2 1/2 hours with us building our registry top to bottom. She answered all of our questions and really helped us find a balance on where to splurge and save. Thank you Amy!

Not on this store, but bought a crib online that had defect with drawer, needed to go through a lot to get replacement parts, but the crib ended up having a drawer that would not sit flush. West Coast Kids customer service told me my floor was not level, and sent me running around to the manufacturer and back to get the parts. The crib bars were also crooked, but they sent the replacement part for that at least. For the inconvenience, I didn't feel like they went over and above. This is after we bought a pretty expensive stroller. Will not go back.

We had an absolutely pleasant experience shopping at the south east West coast location: We are first time expecting parents and were very much confused about the variety of options to choose from for carseats, strollers etc. Diana, a sales associate generously offered so much information to us about everything clarifying almost every confusion we had. She was very patient and kind enough to spend almost an hour walking us through what we should consider and focus on when shopping. We will definitely go back to shop at this store again.

Diana is amazing! My husband and I are expecting our first baby and stopped by West Coast Kids to look at strollers and other baby gear. Diana spent almost an hour with us walking us through the different options, showing us how to assemble and fold various strollers, and answered our many questions. She is so helpful and we appreciate her advice immensely! Thank you, Diana!

Amazing customer service - the assistance we got was hands-down the best. They answered all of our questions and did not try to up-sell. Amy (assistant manager) and Karen (manager) are wonderful and made our experience memorable. We will be back, no doubt.

It seams like the staff are bothered when “helping” you here. I was looking at buying an entire baby room set worth around $4,500. Had to speak to the manager about price matching another competitor which they refused. I ended up ordering the entire set from Dear born baby in Ontario for $700 less with shipping included. It blows my mind how someone in charge of this location is not willing to work with you to earn your business. Brutal customer service.

What a nightmare! We went in during their sale to buy a stroller (Cybex Gazelle). We ordered the stroller and put down a deposit. They then called us to say that the stroller was discontinued and we would have to accept the newer model (which costs about $200 more) and they wouldn't give us the 10% off from the sale since the sale had ended since we visited the store. Our other option was to take the floor model of the discontinued stroller, without a discount because "it was only on the floor for two weeks" (which is hard to believe because it was discontinued). ALSO, on top of all this, if we wanted the floor model, we had to buy the ENTIRE set, including a second seat for $300. Last time I checked, my wife is only carrying one baby, so we have no need for a second seat. Now, we are scrambling to find a stroller before my wife's due date. Thank you West Coast Kids for making our first pregnancy way more stressful than it already was. We will definitely never be visiting this store again.

Kayla from the South location was incredible in back to back visits. She was extremely knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. We purchased a stroller and some toys day one, came back the next day for a crib. Kayla ensured we had a wonderful experience and we will most certainly be back because of her!

As any parent knows purchasing a car seat can be a cumbersome process. There are a ton of options each with their pros and cons. We went to West Coast Kids South location last weekend not exactly sure what we wanted or need in a toddler seat. We were helped by Shirley and she helped us to think critically around what the options were and what could make sense for us. Shirley was very knowledgeable with regards to the various brands and their functionality. In addition, you are able to try the car seats in your car to ensure its a comfortable fit. I would highly recommend talking to Shirley if you are looking for a car seat.

I am disappointed that the store won't tell you if they have items on sale, they would rather have people come to the store and risk spreading COVID-19 than telling potential customers if the item they are looking for is on sale over the phone. Some sale items are listed on their website but apparently they have further in store sales but won't disclose that information over the phone. Retail stores as busy as this should be taking better steps to reduce the risk of COVID while maintaining customer service and if it means using more telecommunications vs. Face to face interactions, than I think they should tell you over the phone to avoid unnecessary store visits.

Further to this review, my wife bought an item on sale during black Friday, a pair of shoes. When we went to go pick them up, we decided to exchange them for a bigger size, same shoe, same price just a bigger size. We were told they can't honor the price and made us pay full price. I find businesses like this to be shady and I think my wife is finally done shopping here. I definitely won't spend my money here and I encourage others not to support retail stores like this. If you're like me and work hard for your money, spend it wisely at better places.

Service here is hit and miss, you either run into a good and helpful staff, or an annoying one that questioned our judgment on why we prefer the color that's only 10% off instead of the one that's 20% off. Anyways, today we met Diana and she was very helpful in showing us the car seats. We weren't pressured into making a purchase right on the spot because I plan to come back in a few days with my husband instead. This was the first time I walked out of WCK feeling that I'd want to come back because of a great service.

Extremely unprofessional company with false advertising. I wanted to buy a travel sized stroller and I ordered the mountain buggy nano online. At the time of the order, the website still shows there’s one in stock in the store. When I went to pick the the order the next day, I was told by the staff in the store that they only have the floor model left and they won’t sell the floor model. Even though the floor model is not even part of the sellable inventory, the website still falsely advertise as they still have items in stock. I drove all the way to the store for nothing basically. I asked to be swapped to a different model with a discount given their false advertisement, the manger refused and insisted that I pay the full price for the other model. I am extremely angry at their dishonesty and lack of customer service. PLEASE STAY AWAY from this store if you value your money and time. I will never come back to the store and I’ll tell everyone I know to stay away from it.

Addendum. The company contacted me after I posted the original review and offered me 15% off one item online and apologized for the way they dealt with my concern in the store. For their effort, I’ll increase the review to 3 stars.

West Coast have some of the independent and sustainable-forward brands that you won’t find in any commercial stores. They have almost everything that we need, from bottles, diaper bags, bath care to baby apparel, cribs, strollers and toddler scooters.

Placed an online order. Missed a phone call that day that something was out of stock. Tried for three days to return the call, no one ever picked up. Went into the store today to get the item that was in stock, and it took over half an hour and multiple staff to locate my one item. While the staff were nice, seems very disorganized.

The most amazing customer service we’ve experienced in kids store. The store owner and staff made sure that we could use our car seat adapter correctly and was really patient and caring. Went back to get a mini crib and had a great experience again. They won’t sell you something for the sake of selling. Highly recommended for shopping for your little ones needs

I am very unhappy with the customer service we received at this store. We purchased a travel stroller, but once we got it home we decided against it. When I tried to return it to the store within the appropriate return window they refused to accept the return because the box had been opened and the stroller has been built. I was told that “no one would buy it in that condition. ”
The stroller is in perfect condition as it was only built in my living room and then put back into the box. Upon purchasing the stroller we were not informed of this policy. If I had known then I would not have made the purchase.

Overall I am disappointed with not being told about this policy when I purchased the stroller and how I was treated by the sales associate upon trying to return the stroller.

Nice and helpful staff. They’ve got everything baby needs! Mostly high-end pricey products. Organized and well laid out. Sometimes, parking is a challenge because there are other shops in the area too.

Bought an item that went on sale the next day. The website says that they do price adjustments within 14 days (with some exclusions) but when we went in to ask for one the response was ‘we don’t do that’ despite it being clearly listed in their store policies. We had reserved an item and I got a phone call to come and get it. When we arrived nobody knew what we were talking about. Pretty typical for this store unfortunately.

Avoid this South Calgary location at all costs. The customer service is non-existent. An employee had paged for someone to assist us TWICE, and after waiting a total of 30 minutes, we left without help. Also, not even one employee checked on us within this 30 minute time period. The only way we got someone to "page for help" was by going to the cashier. We were very excited to prepare for our first baby, however, we left very unhappy and without purchasing any of the items that we had planned to buy. I would not recommend this particular store to anyone. Take your business somewhere else THAT VALUES IT'S CUSTOMERS. Worst customer service I've ever received.

Website advertised $450 discount on the City Select bundle. We then confirm with Veronica at customer service. We drive to the store, wait in line, and then at the checkout are told “oops, that was a mistake”. Terrible customer service to not honour an advertised promotion that was also confirmed by the company. We will need a ton of items over the next decade for our two girls but will now be taking our business elsewhere and encouraging our friends to do the same.

The service at this location is absolutely horrid. The attitudes of their employees (including the manager, the overweight fellow) are woeful. Why the poor attitude for customers seeking to keep you afloat/employed and purchase hundreds (if not thousands of dollars) worth of inventory? It's actually quite disgusting. I've literally had better customer service at Wal-Mart. Avoid the South location and give your business to another merchant or the North location, which actually knows what customer service is. What a joke. The South location's employees should all be terminated and kicked to the curb.

I recently discovered that Calgary has two WCK's and my experience has totally changed. I have only ever been to the Beacon hill location and I have never been impressed with the service. I have always left thinking how rude and sad my experience was. I continued going as it seems to be the only store with the clothing and soothers my daughter wears and uses. I then found out there is a south location which is 1.5 hours away (an extra 30 minutes) from my house so I decided to give it a go and head there. Just upon entering the store my experience was WAY BETTER. All of the ladies working were so friendly and helpful & not rude or snobby.
Im also liking the lay out of the south location more.it wasnt so cluttered and things were more spread apart.wayyyy better for strollers. Overall the south location will now be my go to location! So impressed.

I have ordered pre-order product they state that it will arrive in december but when I called the lady is not able to confirm that. The other part is that they will not allow you to cancel after specific time or return when delivered. I went through the process of ordering to see if I missed that part and there is no information about it when placing the order. Higly NOT recommend.

So as I was shopping at the southeast location I got to witness a disgruntled customer (probably a 3rd tier lawyer). I couldn't help but listen to this guy complain about a broken stroller he had purchased. From the sound of it he may have broken the stroller himself. After being told he needed to contact the manufacturer as the issue was not one that could be rectified at the store level he made another purchase and then huffed off mumbling about bad service. Pretty sure he was a mouth breather. All in all an entertaining experience. Will shop at this location again. The heavy set manager dude is kinda cute.

I just wanted to thank Karen for changing my perspective of the store. We shop at west coast a lot as they have such great products. However, I do constantly have one bad experience with one sales associate and was close to giving up shopping there or just going online or calling the north location. This shouldn’t be a reflection of the store and everyone else as Karen helped me through a situation yesterday and I’m 100% a loyal Customer of west coast again. Also, shout out to Heath who is always friendly and willing to help every time we call to place an order.

Incredibly rude and appalled at the employees attitude. My fiancée and I came in to do our baby shower registry. The employee asked us to sign in, her computer was having issues so she asked us to just start scanning. Spent almost 2 hours scanning. Waited by the counter with no assistance, finally flagged someone down and they told me to go main cashier to upload items that were scanned. The cashier Nyemuoch starts laughing asking “if we actually scanned anything” because the items didn’t come up. Kept smirking as she can’t upload anything we scanned. After a bit she managed to upload the items. She asked for my name 3 times which I kept spelling but she could not find my account. I did let her know the girls computer earlier had issues and we were asked to just simply scan. She again laughed asking “are you sure you actually have an account”. I have purchased hundreds of dollars of items from this store and ordered online as well with zero issues. She then asks me to come around and sign in, which I do, zero issues. She rolls her eyes and smirks “well you didn’t even sign up for a registry so that’s why I can’t find it”. Which I then remind her the other girls computer had issues. Overall terrible experience, treating pregnant women trying to get their store business with absolutely no respect. We will visit the NW location from now on.

Note - this review is not about the staff. They are kind and helpful, including the lady I spoke with at their head office. Their hands are tied to help and unfortunately limited by awful company polices.

I purchased a stroller kit online, as it was not available in store. When I recieved it, it was not as described and very poorly made (maxi cosi Lila duo kit). It is impractical and does not even recline properly as advertised. Apparently, it is final sale and they will not do anything to return it. These terms were not clearly visible on the website and not outlined at all in the purchase process.

I have purchased all 4 of my kids carseats here and their stroller. I would have continued to be a loyal customer however, I can't support a business with practices like this. I will be shopping elsewhere and suggest you do too. Many things in the store are also final sale, but you won't be informed of that until you try to return it.

FYI I am also making a complaint to the BBB for investigation as this seems to have happened to a lot of folks (see reviews below). They need to either make the terms of sale very clear or change their practices.

Rude staff and terrible customer service. They will try everything they can to not return an item. Just stick with the bigger companies if you want to avoid the headache of west coast kids. I will never buy from them again and we have been shopping here for years. They say it’s a family owned company but they sure don’t act like it.

After completing the unnecessarily complicated company return procedure, I was still not issued a refund on my unused item.

I had called the store a number of times and was told on multiple occasions that they were not accepting in-store returns on online purchases. I took my chances today and went in person and was told that they would accept my item but they would not offer me a full return because it had been too long (over 10) days since the return was issued. How was I supposed to return it within the 10 days if they weren’t accepting returns at that time?

Full disclosure, I was offered store credit which I declined as I will not be shopping here again.

The worst I have ever had! I planned on spending a bit of money, boxes ripped wouldn’t tape up then said due to C19 all sales final! Even in a box and not opened. And when I walked in I said I was here for a shower girl.
They should have been given a rating of 0.02!

I was very impressed with the people in this store. I walked into the store with a very odd request for a part for a stroller which they carried. I was in a real bind as I had to travel within a few days. Nobody in Calgary could get this part. I checked everywhere. The staff in this store listened to my story, understood my timing issue and went well above and beyond to help me out. A day later, I went back to the store and picked up the part. These people are good people, the easy answer would have been 'sorry, I can't help', but they really helped me out in a situation where everyone else couldn't get it done. Thank you very much!

We were finally able to go to West Coast Kids Calgary North for the first time and my husband I were blown away with the amazing service we received from Joanne. Being first time parents we really have no idea what to look for and she spent over two hours with us going over every little thing! We ended up purchasing our stroller and car seat with her after she took the time explaining in depth every thing we should know about multiple brands. We walked away with so much more knowledge and an understanding of what we actually need for a newborn. THANK you so much! Love this store and can't wait to go back!

Eleanor was great at going through the different options of strollers and also walking us through what would work best for us. She definitely made an overwhelming experience into something much more enjoyable and she had a great knack for focusing on what was important. Definitely if you are looking for a stroller or car seat talk to Eleanor! Will be coming back to this store - very helpful staff!

Awesome store! West Coast kids has been my go to store for my family over 6 year. West Coast Kids continues to impress! My Family just purchased a gift for my Brother Shane and his Husband Andrew as they prepare for there first child, The staff is absolutely amazing so helpful, knowledgeable and educated with there products. Eleanor went above and beyond! Thank you for all your help West Cost Kids your store will continue to be my family's go to!

Westcoast Kids has always been my go-to for high quality baby gear and clothing, as they have a good selection of trending and local/Canadian made products. The staff at the south location have been so helpful and today was no exception. Florence was friendly and very knowledgeable in footwear and helped me determine the best shoes for my daughter. Upon check out, Sam was personable and smiley and was even able to answer my last minute car seat questions. Overall, another great shopping experience at WCK ️

I am always impressed with the customer service I receive at West Coast Kids. I frequent the Calgary South location and all of the employees are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They make an effort to get to know you and greet you the moment you walk in the door. They carry quality brands and are very educated on the products they carry. They make recommendations but are never pushy. It is a more high end store but you really do get what you pay for and they do have a policy where they will match the price if you find a better deal elsewhere. We’ve been very happy with the products we have purchased there.
