Absolute terrible return policy. We purchased a nursery camera system from them and once we opened it to get it set up found out the camera is inoperative. After contacting store there return policy is final sale. Even though this is a brand new, unused item we are on our own and have to go through the long process of dealing with the manufacturer. This has deterred me from ever shopping there again as every other box store would exchange this item and deal with manufacturer. There is not incentive to shop her unfortunately. Only reason this is not a 1 star review is there staff are super kind and friendly. Just the store policy as a whole is why we will never be back as they do not stand behind the product they sell.

As some people here have mentioned, there is real bad problem with racial profiling in this chain of stores. I’d be curious as to how staff get recruited, trained and perhaps instructed to deliberately target people of colour. I would be very interested in having this store investigated- it’s disgusting and discriminatory. I finally decided to stop shopping here after being followed in 2 different experiences at both of their locations. I was the only person, who the staff kept on following and she kept on fixing and inspecting every area I passed through- it’s so uncomfortable and demeaning. I never want to feel this way again so I decided not to get the shoes I wanted for my little guy. Instead, I’ll go to the Nike store…. There’s literally so many in the city. If you are anti-racist and an ally- speak out and don’t shop here.

I had a fantastic experience today at the WCK west Edmonton location. I had previously been to the south location and had a poor experience, so I was skeptical to try a new location. Shay helped me with car seats and stroller education for probably 30 minutes and she was so knowledgeable and patient! She was so great to learn from and was super approachable. Other staff was fantastic too - I appreciated them checking in with me to make sure I was doing ok. They were always around for questions. I’ll 100% be purchasing my stroller/car seat and other items from this location! Thanks Shay!

I used to love coming here and purchasing things for my children but the staff make it impossible to enjoy your shopping experience. They are asking you every minute if you are ok or need anything but it’s not because they truly want to help they kept following me around the store with my two children looking into my stroller as if I was trying to steal something. At the checkout I was purchasing my items and another staff member came around saying “I’m just going to grab this” which was an empty basket but I realized she was doing that to get a better look into the bottom of my stroller which nothing was in. It’s truly uncomfortable and makes you feel horrible even if you did nothing at all. Stay away!

They helped us with our adaptor installation so that we could use or car seat with our stroller. The products were not purchased from west coast kids, but I have been a customer several times. With the knowledge they had; I never had to go through any returns and I super appreciated the lady who helped us

Checked out WCK for the first time the other day and I can’t wait to go back. The selection is huge and one girl was so helpful and answered all our questions (I wish I remembered her name!) helped us narrow down a choice for a stroller, a play pen and a car seat. The staff were super friendly!

Do NOT shop at this location or with this company in general. THEIR POLICIES ARE UNHEARD OF! How is it possible to not be able to exchange the same item for a size bigger? !? !? ! I’ve worked in retail for many years and this is something I’ve never heard. Very poor customer service and rude staff! Very disappointed.

Products are great, The employee who helped us was excellent. We paid for our large order over $1000.00. Was told to come pickup in 2 hours, we did that and I was accused of not paying the whole bill. They calculated the total 40 dollars short and were blaming me. Nobody would own up to their mistake, the manager did nothing. Absolutely not how you run a business. They lost an entire baby registry over 40 dollars.

I wish they had a better return policy. Even with a receipt they don’t take back furniture. Never heard of a store not being able to return unused/unopened packages. I understand it says on their receipts that all furniture sales are final. But the customer that bought it said they didn’t tell them that at the time of purchase, we only just noticed it on the receipt. This was a gift given to us at a baby shower and we didn’t even open it as it wasn’t something we needed. Can’t even do an exchange for other items we saw in the store that we actually needed. Pretty frustrated and disappointed. Not going to buy anything from them going forward. Plus the lady on the south side store was rude over the phone.

Experienced racial profiling as I was shopping at this location with my family. We were followed around the store by an employee the whole time, even after we said we didn't need help and were fine browsing the products. Still purchased our items and left but will not be returning again.

My Husband and I went into West Coast Kids to purchase a playpen as well as an infant car seat. The staff there is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We were greeted by Tissa and she helped us pick the perfect car seat for our stroller and our vehicle. If she wasn’t sure of something regarding a question we had she double checked with a colleague or looked it up for us. She never once made us feel pressured to buy an item. After purchasing our CLEK Liing car seat we got home and realized that it was the incorrect color. I called the following morning and they exchanged the car seat with the correct color with no hassle. We ended up also buying the Bugaboo stardust playpen and we are very happy with it. We still have a few items to buy before our baby arrives and we will definitely be back.

As a new mom from the Island I was super excited to see a west coast kids here in south common. I went in Jan 26 evening with baby and my mom to shop for a sleep sack and a highchair for sure and probably some cute toys. There were 4 girls working as we shopped around. We spent around 45 mins in the store and not a single associate even said hi to us. We were looking through the clothes and comparing sleep sacks, then we were testing out highchairs and trying to understand them and yet no one asked if we needed help or even acknowledged us. We left with a teething toy and a sour taste on our mouth. We will not be back and are very disappointed in their customer service.

After spending hours picking out furniture for the nursery they ordered the wrong colour. Once we brought the furniture home we realized their error. Complete inconvenience and disappointment in our experience.

Terrible customer service with regards to return policy. Buyer beware - the posted return policy does not apply when items are on sale, and you must seek out the fine print to find this exception to the policy. West Coast Kids has lost me as a customer.

Awful experiences with the company and recommend you for anywhere else if you can.

Staff is a hit or miss in store and it’s the luck of the draw who you encounter.

Refund policy is almost non-existent.

Inventory and shipping of products is a nightmare. I understand with the pandemic there are delays but bothered by the companies lack of communication and follow up. I have to chase them for simple information only to be told over and over that they will reach out soon. Despite the conformation that from the manufacturer and the company that they have received stock I still have not received a tracking number or information on when I will receive the product that I ordered 2 months ago.

My favourite baby store in Edmonton. Spacious and easy to navigate, the prices are better or comparable to Buy Buy Baby, Babies R Us, even Amazon. And they will price match. So many stroller and car seat models on the floor ready to be tested. Many crib floor models.

9/10 I've had excellent customer service, the employees are very knowledgable on the products they offer and seem to know every trick to every car seat and stroller, and are readily available to answer any and all questions I've ever had.

It was a no brainer to make my baby registry here!

This place has the worst costumer service. The store manager is aggressive. Wayfair is a way better option for the same products and the prices are lower and the customer service is way better. Extremely disappointed with my experience here and would encourage other families to take their business to another business who values their customers.

Does not honor the mask exemption in the provincial or municipal legislation. Asked me for proof of my medical condition. Again not allowed. Won't be spending any money here. Went to carters and buy but baby in west Edmonton mall.they were amazing and helped me find 3 pairs of footwear for my daughter who just started walking.

As a first time parent, my husband and I were impressed by the customer service. We received arr furniture before the time they told us and all the products and advices we got worked out super great. We looked online what product was available and we went to go see it in person, to not make mistakes, like few poeple did by just buying online and not know what they get.

Terrible customer service. Older lady that manages the place is rude, even when your spending thousands on bedroom furniture. Never felt like my business mattered. I had enough and canceled the order and didn’t give them any of my money and I suggest you do the same. There are lots of places that appreciate their customers and will take the time to help and not be rude. Stay away!

I always leave the store feeling sad and frustrated due to poor customer service at WCK. My mom, sister and myself have been returning customers at west coast kids for the past 3 years ever since my niece was born. Now there are 2 more babies on the way including mine due in February. We have bought many items from this company including two Uppa baby premium strollers, mattresses, bassinets, careers, sheets, bottles, beds, toys and much more. We have spend thousands of dollars at west coast kids and never left the store without a $500 purchase.

Whenever I go to EXCHANGE (not return) an item I always get poor customer service. They have a very poor policy. 10 days to return with original recipe, packaging and tags. 30 days for exchange. If any item you buy is damaged or has a defect they expect you to contact the manufacture and do not help you in any way, therefore its risky to buy anything from this company. I had this experience with a Halo bassinet that came with the wrong pieces. I got it as a gift from my registry and didn't open it up until closer to my due date, when I finally opened it I realized the defect and took it back to WCK but it was past there policy deadlines (apparently if there is a issue with your order you must submit it in writing within 48hrs of purchase). I also bought a 14.99 bassinet sheet that did not fit the halo bassinet and I had the original recipe and tags still on item and it was in the original packaging but it was missing a sticker or something on the packaging so they did not do anything for me. I also bought a toy for $29.99 that I was exchanging, again with original receipt and tags, but missing a part of the packaging so they didn't do anything for me.

I never have the same issues at bigger retail stores such as buy buy baby. I feel like its unfair for then to not do an exchange for me considering I was only missing a piece of the packaging. That is not how a company should treat a loyal and returning customer who spends so much money. Some staff in the store are not very kind when trying to sort this matter out.

Lesson WCK should learn: Some times a company should have a little bit leeway so in the long run you make more profit and have happy returning customers.

Recently went to WCK to purchase a glider and travel system. With COVID restrictions, we expected some delays with service, maximum capacity etc. First, we waited in the parking lot for about 30 minutes due to maximum store capacity. Once inside, I stood for another 35 minutes waiting in line to access the stroller area (which I never ended up entering). There was a sign that noted a 20 minute max time spent for customers in this area and a maximum of 6 customers at a time. This time limited was not respected. Additionally there was a women in this area (who was pregnant) with two of her girlfriends all looking at strollers for the one pregnant woman. Needless to say we gave up on this area as no one sought to help us. Further, we waited for someone to assist with gliders. At one point we had asked the front counter to send someone over to which no one came. After waiting an additional 15 minutes, we ended up leaving with nothing in hand. We ended up going to Buy Buy Baby after our stop at WCK and purchased our glider, travel system and Mamaroo. Will not be returning to WCK.

I had a very positive experience at this store. I am going to be a first time mother and came in to get familiar with a couple strollers and infant car seats I have been eyeing online. One of the associates Jin helped me out and went above and beyond. She was kind enough to demonstrate how all the parts of my favorite stroller worked and helped me compare it to my other stroller contender. She then did a comparison of all the infant car seats that were compatible with it, including demonstrating each brand’s features (not only each brand but each model within the brands) and pointing out things I may have not thought of but would find value in. She:
- was very professional and thorough in answering all my questions, and seemed to answer them honestly and in an unbiased manner
- didn’t make me feel silly when I had no idea what the heck I was doing/what something was
- not pushy or overbearing
- really kind and made me feel super comfortable!

I learned WAY more than I thought I would!
I don’t write reviews too often but I felt I needed to because I don’t think I’ve ever had customer service of this caliber before and the whole experience just brightened my day.

I made a purchase online from West coast kids during a sale, the order was taking more than 48 hours to even be processed so I contacted them to cancel my order. They gladly cancelled the order but it's been over a month and the charges for this purchase have not been reversed and returned to me. I've contacted them several times and they will not return my massages in regards to the matter. Take your money elsewhere.

Thanksgiving sale. No sale on strollers, car seats highchairs.

Accessories are on sale though. Not bad but would have been good to know. Instagram turned comments off, kinda shady from upper management.

I bought a $650 car seat (Nuna Rava) that broke after 2 months of use. The straps won’t tighten and I was left stranded across town with no way to get my son home safely. I called to make sure that I can bring the car seat in with my receipt and I was told that I have to go through the manufacturer. I understand that this is a manufacturer defect but as a company you have an obligation to stand behind the products you sell- atleast for a limited period of time. I have never purchased from a company that offers zero customer service for their products. Now I have to buy a new car seat so I can transport my son safely while I wait to hear from the manufacturer. I will never buy from this store again and I recommend you don’t either. The same products are carried by multiple stores and other stores stand behind what they sell.

We bought a car seat today. The service was ok. But when we went home and unpacked the box there were no plastic packging bags or what so ever, just the seat sitting directly inside the box with manuals and parts (although they look very new to me). So I did some research online and clearly there should be packaging bags, I mean it's for baby and anything could leak through the box and be caught on the seat. The tape on the box seemed ripped as well. I don't know if someone has opened it or maybe it's from a display. Didn't bother to call them just to let them know there were no packaging bags since it's no return policy for baby car seats anyways. Just unlucky this time.

It’s so hard to support a Canadian company when their staffs are rude.

Most recent visit, went to pick up an order that my wife placed on hold over the phone.

At the store I noticed the item in white colour which my wife requested over the phone, the staff told her it’s not available.

Anyways I told the staff I Am going with the white one, instead of the yellow one that’s on hold.

Staff reply was “ugh your wife requested a yellow” I said “yes after you told her none of the colours including white that she requested was in stock, she had you on speaker, I was next to her during the entire conversation”

There was also an issue with the transaction. Anyways something I thought would be a quick in, and out. Transaction took close to 30 minute to complete.

Anyways if it’s such an inconvenience to put something on hold, and to be yelled at by an employee, I guess this store gets enough business from others, & it’s not worth it for me to support local.

Reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. I’m still all about supporting local businesses. But after this recent incident I will not spend another dime at this store. Maybe others will have better luck?

Can’t stand dealing with WCK. The staff are extremely rude and lack knowledge of the store’s basic policies. We tried to overlook it the first few times in order to support a family owned business but it is no longer worth it.

Also the other reviews here are correct, the return policy is unclear and scattered on the website. The staff act like it is a chore to help or answer any questions.

As a new parent to be, I've only had 2 experiences with west coast kids, and both have been bad. I encourage everyone to check their return policy and exchange policy. In summary - it's bad, and not even close to below average on ANY store I've dealt with. As other stores have gone over and above to help customers during the pandemic (increased length of return policy) west coast kids removed their return policy!
I shopped online and used a coupon code and the transaction went through, the order was confirmed, I got charged on my cc. Then a few days later I get told the coupon code was not valid for this item and there was a technical fault that allowed it to go through. I was offered the original sale price which I declined. They offered a discount on a future item but the list of ineligible items was huge and everything I was looking to buy was on that list. I've had experiences exactly like this at other stores before where there were mistakes made on their website but they still honored the mistaken price or discount - one even thanked me for shining a light on their problem and offered some freebies.
Their shipping and order processing is slow, even when being patient with covid 19 delays.
As a new parent to be I will be avoiding west coast kids and will not be recommending them to others unless they improve and make changes. There are other stores that care more about customers and provide the same, and if not, better service and product selection.

West Coast Kids has a unique selection of goods that aren't found in other baby/kid stores.such as organic chemical-free insect repellent.

I've purchased a few Britax carseats here because WCK carries colors that aren't available elsewhere. Like others have mentioned, the no-return policy is a downer.
Depending on which staff member you get to assist you, they can either be extremely helpful and polite or the complete opposite.

I am disappointed that the staff were not wearing masks admist the covid situation. Being a children's store, the clientele are more vulnerable and need to be protected in every way possible.

West Coast Kids Customer Service is a 5 Star service! They were able to assist me with a product that arrived and it was ruined. They ended up sending me a new one, making sure that the quality of the new one met the quality standard. Super kind and helpful, I would highly suggest to purchase from their website and also to do a baby registry with them.

So I previously loved shopping at WCK, thought they had a great selection of higher end products for “reasonable” prices compared with other retailers.bought our Bumbleride Stroller and Clek car seats there thinking it’s worth spending the $$$$ on good quality products rather than buy cheap stuff from Walmart. BOTH broke already! Baby isn’t even 4 months. The screws that hold the baby seat on the stroller stripped and fell out and our car seat is permanently stuck to the base. I tried to contact WCK to get replacements and they said they only take returns on broken products within 48hrs or purchase! Who with a baby even assembles products within 48hrs!? Most people make big purchases months before baby even arrives! Now I spent $1500 on cheap pieces of you know what anyways and at least Walmart would have accepted the returns! (Contacted manufacturers who have been great, but means we literally can’t take babe anywhere for weeks until new stuff arrives in the mail) don’t think I’ll be shopping at Westcoast kids ever again.if you don’t trust the quality of the products you sell enough to stand behind them, then don’t sell them!

Worst customer service i have ever dealt with. Especially the lady who answer my call regarding the returns. Neither their policy nor receipts have not changed and they never told the items are non returnable upon sale they are referring to some recommendations to not take any returns or exchanges.

We have made several substantial purchases from WCK Edmonton and you can really tell the difference in quality with things like the bedroom furniture. So you definitely get what you pay for from that respect but other day-to-day items are often better priced at other store or stores that offer more frequent promos.

The only issue we had, specific to WCK, which is likely a one-off was that over time, the collapse/expand function started to get stiff despite setting-up and using correctly. Eventually gouging could be seen along the legs/track and it became very difficult to expand and collapse. We reached out to the Edmonton store and they told us to connect with the manufacturer, even though the manufacturer's warranty website said to connect to the store. After sharing our experience with WCK, Sandra connected us with the rep and a new stroller was sent to us within a week - saving our purchase and experience.

I really like this store. I know that people say it is a little bit on the pricier side but honestly they are the same price as toys r us or buy buy baby and they do have awesome sales.

If i'm looking to buy something that I want to go and pick up or i've been looking for something for a while, this is where I go. They carry a great selection of high quality baby, maternity and postpartum stuff.

Also, if you're looking for a baby gift, go here.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is they lack in customer service and I find some of the staff i deal with time and time again to actually be quite rude which is frustrating.

I set up my registry at West Coast Kids and did the majority of my baby shopping here - I'm glad I did!

The staff is always readily available throughout the store, and they have gone above and beyond to help me. They lend a hand to assist me in finding what I'm looking for, and have even helped me replace receipts so I can contact manufacturers about warranties. In store returns have been made quickly and hassle-free when needed.

West Coast Kids has competitive prices on items you can find at other stores, but also offers handmade options by local makers and higher end products for those looking to treat themselves and their babies.

While my husband is hesitant to shop at other baby stores as they have an impersonal, department store feel, he has no issue accompanying me to WCK. The atmosphere within the store is laid back and cozy, as well as clean and organized. If I'm taking a long time weighing my options, my husband easily finds a comfortable place to sit in WCKs strategically placed rockers.

If you're considering shopping at West Coast Kids, I suggest following them on social media! They seem to have a big sale on a different brand or type of item daily, which they keep updated on Facebook and Instagram.

Great selection of higher end products ranging from car seats to strollers and everything you could ever want for your little one. Staff are friendly and provide great advice on all of their products.

I went today to look at strollers. I was approached by a staff asking to help. When I told her the model I was looking for, she looked confused, turned around and started walking. We followed her and she started talking to other customers and never came back. My husband was so upset and he wanted to leave the store.

Return policy isn't great and when it comes to kids stuff that can be fairly important. I would rather shop at a store that guarantees its products and allows for easy returns. I bought a stroller set here and it was unopened still in its box 2 days after I purchased it I changed my mind and thought it would be better to get a stroller that could be converted into a double. I couldn't return the stroller because it was a clearance price which I didnt even know when I purchased it because I was rushing. If I had shopped at any of the other baby stores it would have been a simple return. Pretty much only buy things here if there is no where else to get it.

The customer service is just awful. I went in at lunch time to pick up a couple items as it's close to my work, and wish I had waited til after work to just go to buy buy baby.
It was COMPLETELY dead in the store. Not one person greeted me, or asked if I needed help (I did.)
After picking something out and bringing it to the counter to pay, all 4 staff members standing behind the counter just stared at me like I had two heads! Uuuhhhh, can I pay for this? Or are we just going to have an awkward stare down? The entire process was uncomfortable and I felt like I was bothering them all by simply trying to buy something. Never returning here, I don't care how unique their products are.
