West Leduc Veterinary Clinic

We have to take our furbaby for possible UTI and upon examination, x-ray, our boy has a gallstone in the urethra and the bladder and needs surgery ASAP. Two days later, they performed the surgery that was complicated but the Vet did his best to get it done so we don’t need a specialist. We are happy with their service considering we just moved here. Vets are friendly, place are clean and stuffs are friendly.

This place was good but is going downhill. Took my pup there for her shots and an annual check up and all the vet did was check her heartbeat and feel around a bit. Didn't ask if I had any concerns or even talked to me really. He dissapeared into the back and I had to ask the girls up front my questions. They were very helpful, the vet himself sure wasn't. I was in and out in about 10 mins, including shots and checkup, and it cost me 160 bucks. 80 for the check up and it sure wasn't much of one. What a license to print money. Will be looking for a new vet to go to in the future.

Wonderful clinic. Very clean and the staff are super friendly. Raouf did a great job with my puppy. I highly recommend this clinic!

Great clinic. My dog was vomitting excessively and they were Ble to get her in quickly and start with treatment. They didn't jump to the most expensive options right away and I found there prices to be very reasonable. Also very friendly staff who called to double check on my girl! Highly recommend

They went above an beyond when we had to bring our fur baby in an even though our baby reached his end of life they understood our pain an sent us a card an was signed by the staff we will be back very professional thank you to all the staff

The ladies at the front are rude, dismissive and disrespectful! They always say they are so busy but every time you go there are 2-3 individuals just sitting gossiping at the computers. It’s not a welcoming environment and I feel very disappointed with the multiple interactions I’ve had with the receptionists.

Dr. Henen is the only reason I would ever go back, but unfortunately due to the terrible front end staff, I will be finding a new vet.

I like that the vet is close to my home and the front staff is super friendly. Prices are decent.

I didn’t like that I paid $80 for a physical exam which consisted of him checking my dogs temp in his ear and feeling his lymph nodes in his neck and saying “yup seems healthy. ” Didn’t bother to ask if I had any concerns which I would have pointed out at the time.

Didn’t particularly like that I paid an additional $50 for dewormer which was made seemed like it was part of vaccines. I think there should have been communication with that when asked. “I’m going to give you dewormer which will be an extra $xx, is that ok? ” Because honestly I can find it cheaper else where and give it myself.

Haven’t decided if I’ll be back, if there is another veterinarian on site I might be, I do want to try and give them the benefit of the doubt but there needs to be better communication about add ons or what’s included.

We had to put our beloved dog to sleep as he was in so much pain. They were compassionate and comforting and helped ease the pain of both our family and our Duke.

Absolutely awesome you call and you get quickly in! Open at the weekend, big plus! Very kind stuff! Vets are amazing too! I really recommend this place!

If I could give this vet 100 stars I would, moving here with a 11 and 12 year old dog I didn't think I would be able to find a vet as good as my last one, but I did. These vets are amazing they give you your options a d don't try to pressure you into the most expensive one. Unfortunately one of my first experiences here was to put one of my dogs down and for such a terrible time in my life they made it the best experience they could. The girls in the front even cried with me and everyone that was there told me how much they liked my dog. We then had my others dog teeth cleaned and I was very nervous of sedating my dog since we just lost my other dog. They did the blood work and kept me updated every step of the way, and got rid of two teeth that probably should have been taken out last time we had her teeth done. And now everyone likes my dog even more because her breath doesn't smell like death. I will be going to this vet for a very long time!

Recently just moved here from Edmonton, and had to find a new vet for our new puppy. This has been the best experience we have ever had with any vet. Their hours are great for our working life, and the staff have been so great and amazing to our sweet girl. We’ve seen both doctors and do prefer one more, but both have been great to her.
Recently there was a event where we had to reschedule her surgery, and not only did they accommodate us and reschedule for a Saturday so we didn’t miss work, but offered an extra discount. The reschedule was not their fault, and they went the extra mile. We really appreciate it.

I was pleasantly delighted with the quick, kind and efficient service my puppy and I got. I ended up with a late appointment which again was so nice and convenient. They also phoned to check up on her in a day or so. I will definitely be back! Thanks so much.

Dr Henen was wonderful with my 15 week old puppy. We seen him for her vaccinations/exam and it was a great first experience. Very kind and answered all of my question. Girls at reception were wonderful to deal with. Will be my first call if any issues arise with my pup.

Not impressed. Will gladly go back to Leduc Pet Hospital. I wanted to try somewhere new as its much closer to my house and I had to put down my dog and didn't want to have to go back to my old vet of 12 years for emotional reasons, but will definately overcome that for better vet care! This clinic can't even come close to the care team at Leduc Pet Hospital. Will not return solely due to Dr. Bassem. Clinic was clean, receptionist was great and even apologetic, recommending the other Dr there since I expressed my distaste for Dr. Bassen and how the exam went. I had so many questions about my newly adopted 3 legged cat. Best diet for bones/joints, possible ear infection, asking if my cats nose was previously broken, questions about extending a healthy happy life for my cat with supplements etc. Dr would only focus on an expensive dental cleaning quote and bloodwork request and basically ignored my immediate concerns/ questions. I had to get very firm about focusing the exam back to his ear infection and even had to self recommend glucosamine since Dr was no help. Kept repeating need for expensive dental cleaning on a 5-6 year old cat with relatively clean teeth. Was so dissapointed and tired of trying to get professional answers I even forgot to have him look at my cats nose to tell me if it was previously broken. (only adopted him 8 days ago) I wrote these concerns on a new client form I had to fill out, only to have the dr not even glance at it. Why did I fill out the silly form if he won't even look at it? Had to pay $30 extra for microscope exam to diagnose ear bacteria when past vets just do that and prescribe the meds. I guess the $75 welcome patient consultation only allows for a quick assessment of the animals teeth, followed quickly by a costly dental quote. Left feeling dissatisfied with no more info than when I got there! Went there for professional and knowledgeable info and was pressured for a dental cleaning. Don't waste your time or money coming here for an exam, zero pet or owner compasion. Leduc Vet hospital has hands down better animal/ client care.

Horrible! I brought my older dog here for a look at her reddening and swollen eye. The vet seemed not able to interact with her effectively and was very aggressive with her. She cried in pain on taking her rectal temperature and for three days after had issues with bowel movements. The doctor used the fluorescent dye to check her eye and aggressively pulled at her eyelids for her to open the eye before finally giving up and saying her eye was fine but he would prescribe antibiotic drops as a last resort on not knowing what else to do. He did NOT turn off the lights during the fluorescent dye test so was unable to see she had an ulcer on her cornea! I gave the drops as instructed but her eye did not get better. I brought her to my previous vet in the city and he correctly did the fluorescent dye test, turning lights out in order to see effectively. He found an ulcer on her cornea and prescribed systemic antibiotics, drops, a cone, and pain relievers for the same cost I was charged for just drops and an aggressive and poor quality examination of my dog at this awful clinic.my dog suffered far longer with pain than she should have due to the error made by this clinic's doctor. I will never again subject my dog to this horrible treatment and substandard care at the west leduc vet and I should be given my money back!

Very friendly staff and very helpful! Very reasonable prices as well! Definitely recommend this Clinic! Will be making this our vet clinic for all our fur babies in the future!

This clinic is wonderful! Dr Bassem was thorough and kind. My cat was very ill and not eating and West Leduc Vet Clinic took him in that day, and it was a Saturday! An X-ray, blood test, and a subcutaneous fluid injection was completed within 1 hour, followed by thorough diagnosis from an experienced vet. My little fur baby is doing better now thanks to the thoughtful diagnosis and accompanying prescriptions. The front end staff are compassionate and professional, and took the time to make sure I fully understood the tailored diet for my cat going forward given his diagnosis, and how and when to administer his prescriptions. It was comforting to know that they were also cuddling and being sweet to my little one during his procedures.
I highly recommend this clinic.

Great experience as always. So glad restrictions have lifted and I Can be in the room with my pet again during exams. Estimates provided when asked, courteous and knowledgeable staff. Masks still mandatory, completely understandable!
I like that I can have money on our file, ready for another appointment or quick visit.

Last night our cat passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. Being new to town we didn’t know where to take him, so we called West Leduc Vet. The lady on the phone was very helpful and kept me calm. They stayed open a little late so that we could take him in, and make arrangements that needed to be made. A very pleasant experience during a very sad time. Thank-You to West Leduc Staff

Dr. Bassem and his staff are amazing. My new puppy was not eating at all from 2 days, I called West Leduc Vet Clinic and they booked the appointment right away. Dr. Bassem did his magic and my puppy started eating like a "horse". It was so satisfying to see him eat again. Thank you so much to the whole team. I definitely recommend West Leduc Vet Clinic if you're looking for an affirmative solution.

End of life is never easy! But they were excellent with me and my fur baby. I Thank them from the bottom of my heart for everything

I would like to mention the extra care taken by the front end staff, specifically Reice. She went above expectations to make an uncomfortable situation tolerable.

Hands down the best Veterinarian Clinic. They took such good care of our fur babies! My American Bully walked out of there SO happy, it was truly heartwarming. They walk you through EVERYTHING, they phone to check up on how the fur babies are doing, and answer any and all questions in depth. They’re our go to now! Simply stated: AMAZING!

My puppy had an infection in his eye, I texted them - they called me, made me an appointment on a Sunday to boot. He was in and out with his cone and drops in about 30min. Thanks again Dr. Bastorous and staff:)

Update: Few teeth were pulled, and my cat is looking better than ever. They routinely checked up on her after the procedure to give her attention and made sure she was as comfortable as possible. It's impressive to see a clinic that pays attention to the experience the animal is having while visiting. A+ work.

Took my cat with special needs in to see them. She was very well looked after, by Bassem and Dakota in particular. Bassem was very detailed and thorough in his diagnosis and laid out all of my options, some even with respect to a budget in case that was an issue. Then Dakota showed me some techniques to make giving my cat her meds much easier. They were so kind and accommodating!

My poor girl goes for dental next visit, with those two doing the procedure. I can't ask for better care to leave her in!
