West Village Towers

We rented a one bedroom appartement for a year.
- Pros:
big unit, high ceilings, amazing view, Ali and Cameron are the best, always ready to help and welcome you with a smile. Big thank you to them.
- Cons:
1.the elevators are a nightmare and it did happen we had to wait up to 20 min for it. (we were on the 25th floor)
2. They do nothing for the community, or not much.
3. We were supposed to have BBQ on the 3rd floor terrace but never happened
4. We had to pay 6 months in advanced, which was very understandable when we moved in as we were new in YYC and didn’t have jobs yet, but after 6 months, when we asked this to be reviewed, and after my husband and I found good job with good salary but they refused to take my husband salary into account because he was mainly earning commission/tips and for them it’s not a source if income (we are making way more than 3x the rent cost if they accepted his full salary) which was kind of devastating because we were supposed to finance a car with this money. This is when we decided we won’t stay in this building. The leasing manager didn’t show any humanity or understanding.

Overall, okay Building but there is much better around Calgary.

I had lived one year 2023 in this tower and the service is disastrous!
During the last winter, they have a big issue with the heater and we had 16 17 degrés in the apartment during 5 6 days!
So when we asked a claim on the rent price they did absolutely nothing because they didn’t care…
We heard every times lot of noises and the noise train is horrible day AND NIGHT.
For the end I try to send my bed (perfect condition) but I didn’t so I left with the bed I inside my room.
Nothing was broken and before to live we did a big cleaning but only for my bed they took me 300 dollars on my caution!
I told them before the end of the contrat I had to live earlier.
Between what they told me in the office and they answered me by mail was totally different so they put me in very bad situation…
They sell it the building like 5 stars services but in really they are very very far to this level….

West Village Towers will always be home for us. We resided here for the past 14 months until we moved a few days ago. It was a positive experience from inception. The staff are responsive and very helpful. We Interacted mostly with Amery, Ali and Ruthie during our time there. They were all friendly, accommodating and simply amazing. Our favourite concierge/security Jonathan was also outstanding. The building is always very clean, the cleaners are cheerful and always have a smile on their faces whenever you run into them. If you ever require the help of the maintenance team, their response time is satisfactory. The rooms are spacious, you get a breathtaking view of the city and it’s skyline from the gym and your apartment as well (depending on what floor your apartment is situated). The building has other great amenities which are all excellently maintained. If you’re looking for a new home in the downtown Calgary area, then you should definitely consider WVT.

What a joke. West Village Towers had a unit available for me to tour to be ready for move-in as of June 1st. They then book a tour with me for the wrong unit so I couldn't visit the correct unit. Completely wasted my time. And then now they tell me the unit they had for me, they're giving to someone else. Absolute joke! Lousy customer service. No respect!

Facility and service quality, is very good and reliant. The aerial view points of the city and nature around, are next to non.

There was a problem with the tap, and the maintenance team came within 2 hours after oir enquiry, and fixed everything quickly. Our tap now is not leaking, and we are happy with their work. Thank you

The process of viewing the apartments at West Village Towers was absolutely lovely! It goes without saying that the buildings are beautiful with the best views in Calgary.

Ali is an absolute superstar, and I have to thank him for his amazing service during our two viewings- one with my mother and one with my sister. He was so wonderful and accommodating to our schedule. He is a very lovely person with a lot of charisma, and gave us a fantastic welcome to our new home. He is patient, and you can tell that he is truly excited for everyone who is coming to see the suites. He genuinely cares about the people he is helping, and I believe that is something unique and special.

Shelby was an amazing help with filling out our paper work, responded so quickly, and provided so much information about the building! She knows her job inside and out, and makes sure that you feel welcomed and valued as a new tenant. I had the pleasure of meeting her In person and she is kind, positive, confident, and very professional. She is an absolute treasure as a representative of West Village Towers.

Ruthie was absolutely amazing as well! I able to meet her in person as well, and she is a kind, caring, smart and a truly professional person.she made us feel right at home! She is very knowledgeable and made our experience fantastic. It’s obvious that she values her work and everyone she interacts with and helps everyday. Just like Shelby, she provided us with 5 star service and is a treasure as well!

Gabriel on the security staff is fantastic! Thank you so much for helping us out with a special request view the 3rd floor terrace when we were only there to sign papers. It was very kind of Shelby, Ruthie, and Gabriel to accommodate us by going above and beyond. He is a wonderful person, and I know I will be safe with him on the West Village Team!

All of the staff are incredibly passionate, considerate, and amazing people. I cannot praise them enough. All four of them each deserve to be recognized for the incredible work which they do. It’s not everyday that you encounter such a fabulous team and I hope that they are recognized for their unending passion and commitment to providing the best service I have ever experienced.

For me, the highlight of moving into such a beautiful space is truly the wonderful people and the way they make you feel here. I cannot express how excited I am to call West Village Towers my home.

I have had the extreme pleasure to come and view several units while trying to find my new home this weekend, and I've been blown away by the whole experience. The rental team has been fantastic to work with and provided all the details I needed.
The building looks incredible, the units were amazing, and the amenities are astounding!
I look forward to dropping off my lease application this evening!

I live in an apartment close by. The roof top lights are awesome to look at. Always excited to see what color they will be next.

We moved in July with two kids.pluses: attentive stuff, large team to fix any maintenance trouble - we have not had any in our unit, but elevator got busted once and has been attended to, convenient automatic mailboxes, consierge even brings packages straight to your door, not a lot of people - at least sound insulation is good, we don't hear anyone.we like multiple layers of security -because of kids and we have to leave them in apt sometimes- entry thru FOB, guard, cameras, elevator needs FOB.minuses: no playground nearby, only dog walkout area, and no really any coffee place or eatery nearby, but that's not on building itself obviously.i wonder what is going to be done with large 1st floor commercial area - Tim Hortons won't be a terrible idea.

Everyone knows how stressful move out processes can be - My roommates and needed some assistance with wall patching and other maintenance services. I’m pleased to say that Sam along with the service team were very kind and willing to help throughout this process with a can-do attitude. Thank you for making our transition a little easier:)

I want to say thank you to all of you for making my transition to living in Canada and in an apartment so easy and happy. You are all so friendly and ready to listen and help. Dropping my rating now as the dog area is still terrible. No messages have gone out to tenants to pick up messes as promised, tenants have not been addressed as cameras are too big a deal to install and so nothing has been done. One thing changed, there are now dog bags full, piled up on in one area. If this doesn't change, my rating is going to sink fast.

I like the building and really think highly of the security staff in building 2. I have one strong complaint that some dog owners leave large piles of *^*^ in the space on level 3. Cameras should be included in this area to properly address these tenants.

Beautiful place to live and the leasing staff was extremely accommodating and easy to work with. Was a very smooth transition moving here. Building is extremely clean and everyone who works here always has a great attitude.

The staff at west village towers have been super helpful from the day I moved in. They are fast to respond with any questions and overall had an amazing experience. The building has by far the best views of the mountains and city compared to any other condo I've been in downtown calgary. The views from the penthouse lounge and gym is stunning!

Great place to live. Lived here with my fiancee since March 2022. Staff are incredibly friendly, responsive and supportive. Our unit is amazing, even though we are on a lower floor. It's super quiet for Downtown/Beltline. Security are great and building is always very clean. The few times we have needed help from maintenance, they have been very quick to help us solve our issues.

The negative reviews here are pretty extreme. I think the $20 visitor parking fee is probably justified due to people taking advantage of visitor spaces. The majority of other negative reviews are from people who have never lived here! I think the biggest issue with West Village Towers is that they have some seriously entitled tenants who need to wake up and realize it doesn't get much better than this!

Shout out to Ali, Amery, Cameron, Joseph, Ralph, Alex and the other teams members! You guys make this place very easy to live in. We wouldn't be leaving if it wasn't for our move to the US!

My bf lives in the building they charge him for parking and now for visitors they want us to pay $20! Great way to mint money out of people nor do they have any plans for full time visitors or like get a pass! I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation. They charge an arm and a leg for the small condo anyways plus almost $200 for parking underground and now this!

Good place to stay in Calgary with dedicated management with prompt response and friendly behaviour. Also the amenities, security 24 X 7, cleanliness of premises and stunning views from the home.

Amery and Ali are the ones I frequently interact with and they are too good.

Much like a few other reviews I've seen here I didn't receive an email about the changes to visitor parking either, even after searching through my emails after the fact. The choice to suddenly charge $20 a day for visitor parking is nothing more than an egregious money grab. Probably even more frustrating is the patronizing stock lines I received as responses when trying to bring up the issue. They act like charging this much for visitor parking is the norm in Calgary and that the policy was requested by the tenants - neither of which seems to be the case. The building is really gorgeous and the views are great but they do have this nickel and dime attitude and at this point I'm just frustrated.

Editing to add that I did email the leasing office before posting here, and their response of stock messaging is what I was irritated by, not your responses to other reviews. I understand the need to offer responses in an efficient and consistent manner, but what I don't understand is failing to take responsibility for an unpopular decision by misleading tenants and acting like this is the norm for apartments in Calgary when many of us know this is not the case. I can also appreciate that security and labour concerns are valid reasons for reconsidering the operation of visitor parking - but again - other apartments seem to be able to offer this service with less staff than currently work at WVT (a service which we pay for in our rent). If there was a serious need to address security concerns or abuse of visitor parking privileges, consultation with tenants to find a better solution could have been undertaken before jumping to what many clearly interpret as a drastic action.

Visiting yesterday evening and management wants to charge 20 bucks for parking.
2000 a month rent with no free visitor parking. Poor management.

As grand it looks from the outside, it gives a similar feel when you live in one of the apartments. The amenities are top notch and so are the staff. It provides good accessibility.

West Village Towers is one of the best place to live in Calgary. It provides safe and secure environment with all the amenities such as gym, social room, games room and common space for spending your evenings.

The appartment itself is great with large windows and open space and with all basic amenities needed for a good living equipped with all safety measures.

I would recommend West Village Towers to anyone you wants to enjoy a good living space with security.

Stay away from this building! Living here for almost one year. They have the most terrible management office ever. And also they charge you everything extra on top of your insane rental price!

1) They rushed to launch the lease to the market. Most of the amenities are not available in the first half of the lease term. There was no security guard at the first month! They promised to have a game room, outdoor patio. Not when you start renting the condo! They opened the game room after 5 months of the building launched, the patio with nothing useful with little using space and not really suitable for any gathering. Took a moment to be in the patio in 3/F, nothing there! Not even a chair, table, BBQ area and fireplace. It’s just an empty tiny space with few squares of artificial grass. The game room has only two arcade games, one of them disappeared after few months they opened the room. They said there would be events for the tenant, they only offer jokes.

2) The suite is not well finished. The rental price makes this building “luxury”, but not the building itself! The heating system is useless at the first four months. Remember, they lease the building in December. They fixed the heating in March, thanks for letting the tenants freeze to death. False fire alarms every week in the winter. You’re working remotely? Sorry, even the alarms can be muted, they can only be muted one minute. Glasses are not clean when I moved in, the balcony is super dirty. The agent who checked the entire suite with you were rushing and ticked all the columns herself within 3 minutes and asked you to sign the agreement.

3) They charge you everything in the building in a ridiculous way. The rent is overpriced, starting over 2k/mo for 2 bedrooms. The rent doesn’t include most of the things you needed. There’s no parking included in the rent. First stall $200, additional stalls $250. Are you kidding me? Also, you have to pay for storage and pet wash. If you want to use the community room to gather with friends? Money! Witnessed the lease office charged people all the security deposit of renting the community room because of not clean enough after use. Not to mention they don’t provide any cleaning tools and detergents. My friends cleaned all the chairs, tables and of course the floor. They still said it’s too dirty and charged all the deposit. Like a robbery.

4) They don’t fulfill what they promised you. When I was in a tour, they said there would be free guest parking in underground level 1. They said it’s a good place to invite friends and enjoy all the amenities. There are tons of parking space in P1 but they only offer half of them for guest parking. Importantly, they started charge every guest parking for $20/day. I invited my friend to my home and informed to pay $20. Excuse me? You promised me for free guest parking that’s what convinced me to rent here, and you said “there’s no such term in the lease agreement”. WOW! I didn’t receive any notifications in advance for the change of guest parking and they told me it was sent to my email. I search my entire Gmail in front of the agent and couldn’t find that. They just behaved as “it’s your problem to not receiving our email”. They didn’t offer any alternative to help you instead of following the rules. It’s not even my problem, you thought I deleted the email and asked for $20 exemption? How dare you? !

5) They made a price guarantee verbally and won’t fulfill it. When I was negotiating about the rental price with the agent, he promised me the price would be cheaper after one year lease term as there will be offer to keep me staying. Guess what? They offered to reduce $25 on the parking fee but raised the rent.
Terrible experience to live here. Poor management and extremely low in value.

Stay away from West Village Tower and save your money to a better real luxury condo.

We are new comers to Canada/Calgary and WVT has been wonderful to stay with my family so far. Ali and Amery and Nicola from management are professional and also helped us through the process and also very helpful.
Good maintenance with proper security and Amenities.
