I must say one thing that there is no doctor to look at you its been 3 hours waiting in waiting room and 4 hours waiting inside just to see doctor and the nurse only says there is only one doctor so it will take time. Its so frustrating that a person is waiting to see a doctor in ER who met with an accident for more than 7 hours. Its really very concerning that in an ER there is just one doctor to take care of so many patients. You should really avoid going to ER if you actually need any medical attention rather go to your family doctor. Really shame on our medical facilities.

Emergency wait times are ridiculously long.if you are able, go to Devon or into
Edmonton

Everyone was professional and courteous. They made me feel comfortable during a very stressful time for me. Would rather come here than to one of the hospitals in Edmonton any day.

Usually I go to this place for my kids appointments, specially for the community health unit. (newborn and my toddler).
Always I had a very pleasant experiences with the health staff. They are very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and very kind. Really appreciated everything that they did for us. Wonderful people. Always satisfied with the service. I went to emergency unit several times (kids issues). They were also really nice and complete everything in one visit. We didn't have to go for a second time for the Same reason. Takes more than 4 hours, which we can understand due to busy environment. But it worth because the service was excellent.

They got friendly staff but they like to tell you that there's nothing wrong and send you home that's why there's no wait time.

If you are having severe pain don’t go to this hospital, they will keep you waiting for hours. I went there after having a surgery since it was the nearest emergency hospital. I was having severe post surgery pain and in addition, I couldn’t urinate. With all that pain of retaining urine and post surgery severe pain the kept me waiting for 5 hrs. I had to scream so loud for them to attend to me, since I couldn’t bear the pain anymore. After being taken in, they took their sweet time to give me pain medication. They were trying different medications and yet I was having very severe pain. It took another 2 hours for them to manage the pain.
The Doctor was good and Nurse Brenda was the best.

Stood to wait to be noticed in the triage line for 10 minutes. The wait times are atrocious and I have never in my life seen an emergency waiting room this dirty and disgusting in my life and not to.mention the bathrooms. The one toilet and sink are inexcusably dirty and the amount of garbage on any table and cans and crumbs on the floors is so gross.

Unless you are almost dead and have no other option do not go here, or you might end up dead.

Had to go to emerg.best service ever. Dr. Butler was great and his staff in er were very professional and caring.

Been to this hospital multiple times myself, with my mom and now with my boyfriend. I was experiencing the worst pain ever and had to wait 8 hours for a bed, another 2 before I was seen by the doctor then finally rushed into Edmonton by ambulance. My mother has a chronic illness which causes her to get pneumonia often, last time her blood oxygen was at 57 and she was delirious and basically on deaths door, still took forever for them to treat her. Now here with my boyfriend for 3 hours and after finally getting a bed, hasn't even been checked on in 1.5 hours and no sign of a doctor. This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. You get to listen to a dozen personal conversations from the nurses and everyone standing around and laughing while they are surrounded by people in pain and waiting

Very bad experience on Monday night, went in to get my ears checked cause I have an ear infection & needed checked & the nurses & the doctor was & is very rude & they don’t listen & i went in on Monday night & so who ever the rude doctor was working 9pm till around 12am you should be fired right now seriously & he talked to me very disrespectfully & wasn’t listening to me & he was more concerned about getting his food & he was sitting down for 2 hours when he should have been helping his patients & also I waited more than 7 hours & they told me my ear infection was not an emergency and when in reality it is. Pretty much what l’m telling you all is that rude doctor & them nurses should be fired & i hope someone important reads this & fires them,

If I could give them zero stars I would. I went in yesterday morning for abdominal pain. They were pretty reckless and whenever they took me off the iv or switched I would throw up violently but that didn’t stop them from discharging me and saying everything was fine. Not even 12 hours later I was back there in severe pain and the triage nurse was very rude. I told her I was in not even 12 hours ago and they told me it was nothing and she said well then it’s probably nothing after I just told her I’m at a 10/10 for pain. After waiting for 2 hours and still nothing while I’m screaming in pain and vommitting, I asked if I’d be able to get something to ease my pain and I was told not till I see the doctor. The same triage nurse then said to my fiancé who was asking how much longer cause I was in so much pain and she had the nastiest attitude towards him. We ended up leaving because I’d rather be in pain dying at home then deal with her again. And to add to all of it I tried calling this morning to put a complaint about her through and they hung up on me. Would never recommend this hospital to anyone.

1 star is 3/4 of a star to much, Complete joke. Staff stand around talking for 10-20 mins on there phones, cant direct you to the proper area to go to and act dumb when asked any question or ask you to go speak to someone else.

If you need to see someone don’t come here. Came in because a huge metal ladder came crashing down ontop of my head. Was nauseous and barely responding. Told the nurse that I felt like I was going to faint and she gave me some water and told me that only 2 people were before me. 3 hours later and 6+ people had gone in and no one new had come in. I was still waiting. I felt like I was being completely ignored. Ended up leaving after not being seen at all. Absolutely disgusted with this place. Don’t come here if you value your life.

I brought my wife here this morning with stomach cramps and no energy. So glad we did she was having kidney failure and having only one kidney as she donated one to her daughter things could have turned out really bad. The Staff in triage and in the ER were exceptional as well the EMT’s that transferred her to the UofA. Thank you all

All the nurses in the day surgery unit was awesome. They made me feel so comfortable. All were very respectful and kind. Dr Sullivan and the rest of the team were just amazing.

My sister came in because she had a grand mal seizure and the nurses were discriminating her the entire time she was there. They continuously refered to her as "the tweeker". She is in recovery and was not using but because of her past they just assumed it was drug use, when it was not. The paramedics were even appalled by the nurses behaviour towards my sister and themselves. My sister had to use the bathroom for several hours and they just ignored her, which the paramedics ended up helping her go to the bathroom. They also left her in a puked on gown that was ONLY changed because the paramedics changed it. The paramedics advocated for more anti-nausia that they had not given for over 4 hours while she was still throwing up from the seizure. I understand burnout is a huge thing right now for the medical field but patient discrimination and disrespect should NOT be happening. We will be putting in a complaint with Alberta Health Services.

Absolute horrible, my mother has been there multiple times through emergency and multiple times they have done nothing. This past week she’s been in emergency trying to get an ambulance to get to a hospital in Edmonton and no one would take her, everyone refused her. This is completely unacceptable especially with the condition she’s in and the condition her foot is in.
Let’s not forget that all nurses refused to clean her wound that one of the doctors made to empty out. Can’t remember the doctor but he was wonderful and actually did care! Kudos to him.

My family and I have gone here a few times over the past few years and encountered nothing but issues. I last took my wife there for pains and ended up going to the Royal Alex after waiting over an hour for nothing but I saw an off duty staff member get her kid in remarkably quickly.

Praying to your deity of choice will be faster and more effective, even if you are agnostic.

The emergency area is quite confusing, horribly long wait, over 5hrs, very cold inside. Did not see the waiting area get cleaned during our wait, not the washrooms, not one chair wiped down or high touch area cleaned. Waiting over 5hrs with with 7yr old with a sever cut on her finger is ridiculous

Over the course of 5 hours, the nurse checked on my grandmother once during my visit and that was only to give meds. Overall, it's been difficult to get updates as nurses are too busy to take a call and messages don't always get passed on to them. There seems to be a lack of empathy and compassion; staff are just there to do a job.

Do Not Waste your time coming here. Will be told to go to the Misericordia
Hospital. Have heard same story from others. Went to the U of A and was given Exellent and efficient care.

Waited over 6 hours to get an xray. Website said 45min wait time. Clearly not accurate at all. Two people in ER left due to delays and not being tended too. They were bleeding and one guy was missing a bit of his finger. This place needs new management.

This is the worst hosptal to go. Staff here doesnt care for patients. They just work for pay checks. No concern or anything! If you have option to go anywhere else just dont come to this horrible place! Im talking about the emergency staff and triage.

I've always been supportive of the health care system, i understand that long wait times sometimes happen and I'm okay with that. The only thing that is bothering me is I was in on Sunday and wait 7 hours (no problem) was told to come back the next day for an ultrasound and then the doctor would go over my results. I don't feel like I should have to wait again for another 7+ hours. I was told to come back and as far as I'm concerned I did my time (waiting). I'm not coming in with a new complaint, I'm continuing from my complaint the night before and to have to wait another 7 hours just to get the results is unreasonable.

Went in for an issue and the waiting room was not super busy. I realize it could be a but if a wait but each time I go there it just boggles my mind. This time I need to give a urine sample.then hold on to it for 3 hours before seeing a doc to give it to them. Really? Why not stick my info on the bottle & give it to the lab so it's ready by the time I do see a doc? So much redundancy in the system. So much waste during this crazy time. I feel bad for staff. It's such an overwhelming place to work but I wish they could have "practical " workplace policies in place.
Besides that, nurses were great. (Just run off their feet)

We called in this morning Jan 17 2022 asking if someone has covid that needs medical assistance can be accompanied by a spouse in the emergency and we were given the wrong instructions. So we drove to the emergency and the person at the fromt door asked the protocol questions. And immediately after she learned that me and my husband are positive. She started acting rude, condescending and unprofessional. We didn't want to seek help anymore and just deal with it at home. With what the world is going through right now, best thing u can do is just be nice to people because you don't know what battles other people are fighting. Bless your heart whoever you are at the front door. Hope you find peace.

All my family and friends know NOT to ever go here. You might be better off googling your symptoms and preforming your own treatments. Honestly

I had to go to the ER in the late afternoon on Nov 24th. The staff were wonderful, as usual. I was seen quickly. Tests and medications given quickly. All the staff were very pleasant and caring. I only go there when I know I am having problems and need help. We are so lucky to have this hospital here. So sad that some people give this place bad reviews - triage is priority based people!

Without a doubt the worst hospital me or any of my family has ever been too. I seen some positive reviews on here which baffles me because all of our experiences here have been far from pleasant. I am starting to wonder if race or ethnicity has anything to do with it. Made my daughter who had a dislocated knee sit and wait for hours before even being seen. Absolutely disgusting. Other hospitals like Drayton Valley or Devon are way quicker than this place.

We waited 8h the first day and they said they don't have an ultrasound technician and send us home. The 2nd day they let us wait again just to for a doctor to see the results for 5h and then the nurse came and said the doctor just came and we waited more 4h for the doctor to see us! What a joke! Like 2 days for nothing. I will rather die then come back to this hospital.

Absolutely the worst hospital. Waited 8 hours for my husband to get treated. Got a few tests done but had to wait for results because it had to be sent to Edmonton to get read. He was sent to Leduc hospital this morning for a ct scan, in and out in 30 minutes then had to go back to stony to talk to the doctor and waited 2 1/2 hours but couldn’t wait any longer. We had to leave the hospital last night for 20 mins just to eat and the doctor phoned my husband and said he shouldn’t leave just in case something happened to him. If it’s so serious then maybe treat people instead of them sitting around for hours. Absolutely disgusting! They should be shut down.

I took my 3 year old here because she has been experiencing pain and we don’t know why. They wouldn’t see her without putting a finger monitor on her. She’s shy and it terrified her, and I wouldn’t force it on her so they refused to see her. I’m sorry refusing care because a 3 year old child is terrified of a finger monitor is not ok. Will never be going back.

Staff seem nice but when it says 3 hour wait online thats a lie, be prepared to wait for 10 hours when there are only 5 people in the waiting room. Sherwood park or Devon hospital can have 20-30 people waiting and you'll still get in in less than 2 hours!

The slow intake is almost unbearable. Staff are great, but the system is broken. Zero feedback as to where you are in the Que. 7 hours on average wait time.

I arrived at the hospital around 6am which was perfect timing. I was able to get a bed in emerg and was quickly attended to by an RN, RT, medical resident and then an MD. I was out in a total of three hrs or less. Excellent treatment. Thank you.

The sign in procedure is painful. Extremely long wait times for very few patients. Staff is very good. Management is clearly the weak link here. Inefficient.

I was seen by Dr. Matthew Meeuwissen at Emergency, the only Doctor on a Very busy night with multiple major emergencies. He was efficient and proactive and came up with a unique solution to addressing my scheduled testing the next morning. Much Appreciated. Kudos!

Was there in agonizing pain and legit got told to be quiet because there's other sick people. In the fifteenth years I've been here this was the second time and I walked right out after that comment. This hospital was and still is the worst in the entire area. Skip stony and go to Devon where they'll actually want to help you. Btw your front nurse likes to be on her phone while patients are trying to talk to her! So professional

Worse hospital I have been to my first time there never go again the wait was bad I would understand if they had emergencys there was one emergency but the poor guy had to wait in the waiting room too don't recommend.

I was absolutely disgusted with the treatment I had recieved from here just over a month ago. It was sickening and the triage nurse's behaviour towards me was absolutely appalling. If I was dying I would honestly take my chances waiting longer to seek medical attention from another hospital further away rather than go back to this hospital.

Just go anywhere but here. Even go into the city. They take forever to see you and they don't care if you're sick or not. It's an awful place. Just don't come here.

Doctor and nurse very patient and provided good care but 7 hour wait time while i was in a lot of pain, no one to even tell me I was in a queue for 3 hours, no way of asking for assistance. The wait time is an inevitable problem but the total lack of communication is not.

Was in for a day surgery and the entire staff was awesome, but someone could have communicated my recovery better, and I did not get a follow up appt. (it has been almost 6 weeks)

I was there yesterday and today. Yesterday was a 7 hour day to literally speak to a doctor for maybe 15 mins. Including procedure time. Today I wait 5 hours for my test results. The report was there, the nurse told me he has tried to come talk to me multiple times but never made it. If you are going to this hospital be prepared for at least a 7 hour wait. You are better off to drive to the city.

Went there for iv from Edmonton. The unexperienced nurse tried four times to put the needle into the vein. Failed four times.hurted me alot.i just come over back to the city.very bad experience

Intake staff are great it's the waiting time that is absolutely ridiculous. They could double the size of this Hospital and it would still be terrible

This Hospital is under staffed, under funded and mismanaged. There is no priority as to who goes first unless you are bleeding out. I am sitting here right now with broken bones in excruciating pain watching people get called in with hives on their foot and tummy aches. Never again will I come here even if I’m dying.

The attention was very bad for me.and the treatment of the doctors on duty towards me was super bad.the doctor did not use a good vocabularyIt's sad that this happens in a clinic, the so-called doctor erupting like a pig laughing all the time and people crying in pain as we can call this circus. I had day surgery at Westview Hospital. I was checked in and checked out on time. Thank you Dr Cadilly for putting me together again. Nurses Dana and Jessica were competent, caring and respectful. I can't imagine receiving better care anywhere else. You are all a credit to your professions. 6 STARS

What is the point of emergency ward when you can’t treat a person with an emergency. Too bad. Hospitals shouldn’t be like this.

We just had our son vaccinated for Covid at the immunization clinic and had a horrible experience.
1- we were ordered to remove N95 masks and wear a supplied mask with less protection. We then had to listen to unsolicited orders from a bylaw officer on how to wear a mask properly. (My husband is a Nurse).
2- nursing staff inside told us the bylaw officer and outside staff should have allowed our surgical N95 masks.
3- as a healthcare professional, your organization was pathetic. Large crowds of people being called up at once, no social distancing, having people remove N95 masks while in line to wear less protective masks puts them at risk.
4- inside, again, no social distancing was done properly.

In a year of following the rules the greatest risk of illness to my son so far has come from the poorly planned vaccination location we visited.

We would have been far better off going through a pharmacy. When I got my shot at a pharmacy I came in contact with only the pharmacist.

I had called the night before and asked if I was able to get a certain test done and she said yes, to just come into the emergency doors because the other doors were closed. Then I had just gotten off an 8 hour night shift and I walked to the hospital and the nurse there had very bad tone with me and was rude and told me that I need to just buy the test at home. I already did that, that's why I was there for a check up which I was told I was allowed to have. She turned me away and told me to leave. I was embarrassed and also mad. Don't tell me one thing, than tell me the complete opposite.

Nikki in Triage and Heidi the assistant nurse are the nicest ladies I've ever had treat me before in a hospital environment. Very professional and accommodating.

The level of service at this hospital is atrocious. I was there for 2 hours in emergency and no one could tell me if and when a doctor was going to see me AND it was super slow. One nurse told me it was completely up to the doctors while he pointed to the 2 doing email at the counter. I ended up just walking out and finding a clinic the next day. You have to wonder in these situations if anyone holds them accountable for maintaining some form of service levels. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE.

I went in because I couldn't walk more than 10ft without almost fainting and literally the doctor just did a chest xray and was like "chest is clear you can go". No explanation of what might be happening, just walked away. Never again.

Emergency room is garbage. If you can, drive to a different hospital. No one seems to know anything and you'll waste your whole day and then still need to go to another hospital.

Wait was not longer then any other er. The checking in nurse, in triage was doing her best to explain her process in her job, but really I believe people wanted to hear they are 3 or 4 in line.

Wait times are horrible so you spend 6 hours in triage to then need an ultrasound and sent to Misericordia hospital in Edmonton then have to come back and sit I triage all over again to get results. Hours and hours wasted. What are the doctors doing?

5 and half hours I've sat in pain and still haven't seen anyone but people with broken wrist are getting in before me. And I gave it one because you can't give it zero

I was in a car accident and went to the emerg to get an x-ray and have my injuries checked. I waited almost 3 hours before getting fed up and leaving. 4 people (who came after me) were sent in before me. A joke of a hospital. Do not go here if you need medical attention.

Had extreme nausea and waited 5 hours once admitted. Left after not seeing anyone the whole time. Came back 2 months later for nausea again. Made me wait 4 hours for iv and got very rude with me after I asked when the iv was coming.

They also cant treat minor asthma attacks in children.

All i can say that the service for me was outstanding from the minute we walked in to the minute we left this hospital. Thanks to all the staff. Keep up the good work. Once again Thanks Again William Lageveen.

If ever you are sick or in need of emergency care, DO NOT go to this hospital. The majority of the nurses will degrade and humiliate you. You will be forced to do this that make you feel as if you were subhuman. When you cry out in distress and pain, you will likely be told to suck it up as they are busy and don't have the time to care. Bedside manner is rated less than 0 for most of the nurses. You will leave this emergency room not only physically unwell but will also be emotionally/mentally unwell due to the extremely non compassionate care.

Daughter has been puking up everything for 5 days. 4 hrs later, intern did not give her iv or gravol and told to see her family doctor when we told him she had a appointment with her family dr when intern came in. Total waste of time!

Thank you for the wonderful care I received in the ER after being in a car accident. Every single person there, nurses, x Ray, admitting and the doctor was caring and professional. I appreciate you all very much!

I received excellent care when I went to emergency. This is the 2nd time I have had to utilize this service and each time was treated with respect. The service was prompt. One has to realize that emergency services are for emergencies only. If you have a sore throat - go to a walk in clinic!
