Westview Heights Apartments

Living at Westview Heights has been overshadowed by the property manager, Melanie's, unprofessional and dismissive behavior. Her inability to address tenant concerns with empathy, fairness, and due diligence has led to increased frustration among residents. Her poor communication skills and apparent lack of concern for tenant well-being have significantly impacted the living experience.
This, along with ongoing building issues such as frequent elevator shutdowns, requiring us to climb 27 flights of stairs, and bi-weekly water shutdowns, has made life at Westview Heights challenging. Tenants have been unfairly accused of wrongdoings without proper investigation, further highlighting Property Manager's inadequacy in her role.
We are finally moving out and would advise anyone considering moving in to think carefully and weigh the pros and cons before making a decision. It's disheartening to see such mismanagement, and we hope for improvements in the future to foster a better living environment for current and future residents.

The New management is poor as well. Don’t see the prices before moving in to the place. You will regret your life after you move in and get emails about daily shutting down of elevators and waters. Property Manager is the most unprofessional person I have ever met in life. She is so busy that she needs an appointment to talk to while she is talking on phone with someone in her office on work hours. They will put unnecessary charges on your account and take money from all way possible

Building has been under repairs for more than one year. Apartments have no heat and those that do when it gets cold outside you are still cold. Property Management has changed so many times and still it does not get better. After three years of no heat in the winter and the excessive electric bills to keep warm every winter I have had enough. Elevators do not work most of the time. Night Club on ninth Ave can be heard every weekend until the wee hours of the morning. Why have I stayed so long? $900.00 per month, that's why. They couldn't pay me enough to stay past the end of my lease.

Melanie is a Karen of a manager, she harassed tenants and I was threatened with eviction if I was to leave a bad review. Now that I’m gone, they cant evict me!

Westview heights is like an old ford taurus without signal lights or power steering, with no guarantee it will run in the winter. As for the summer, imagine the heater won't turn off and runs full blast, reaching unbearable temperatures. This building is a nightmare.

Why has the power been out for 2 days? Why do we lose the ability to have water twice a month? Why does the fire alarm keep going off? This place is run by the biggest dolts ever.

Nothing beats spending Christmas on the 31st floor without power, water, or a working elevator.

Save yourself and DON’T move into this apartment. The walls are so thin conversations of your neighbours can be heard. Constant noisy renovations. Unclean. The pool is never in service, and when it is it’s freezing cold. I have had my unit entered multiple times without hours notice. Sh*tshow management. Find yourself a bearable apartment for the same price point.

I've lived here for just over a month now and have had a great experience here. Unbelievable how much great staff make a difference in the place you live. Ultimately my decision to move in was cause the staff were super supportive and willing to help me. I feel almost as if they are family now. Myra, Patrick, Mark and Emillio are a pillars in the building making it a community. The building is well maintained and every issue is done promptly and in my experience and has exceeded my expectations! I love living here and will stay for a while! Thank you!

This is my Husband & I's very first apartment as Newlyweds. We love the views, spacious bedroom and natural light. The laundry is located on every floor so we never have to wait to do our laundry. The swimming pool is an added bonus and there's a deck available with lounge chairs. Would highly recommend! The property management representative Myra is incredibly kind & helpful as well:)

I would give zero stars if I could. This was the worst place I've ever lived. The shower screeches for five minutes whenever you turn it on, oh and there's no hot water in the afternoon - and that's if the water hasn't been turned off (without notice!) as it is usually once or twice a month. I could go on. This place is so gross. The staff are terrible, the building's not fit for purpose. A horrible place.

Just rented a unit in this building. So far the management has been super helpful with accommodating me with everything I needed to get going on my own. The views that come along with my unit is spectacular to wake up to. Easy to say the least the location of the building and the great amenities. I can’t wait to make this my new home!

I had a wonderful experience at Westview Heights! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They are very accommodating towards personal and/or business requests. There has been a management turnover and they are so caring toward their tenants. I recommend this place!

A very nice place to live. We'll managed by Myra. There is always someone ready to help in the building. Keep going!

The building looks way better now since new management came in. Like all building in the downtown core it has it's little issues but this is one of the better places I've stayed.
The staff are super busy all the time but always do their best for the tenants.
I'd recommend this place for anyone as it's been turned around so well.

I've lived here over 2 years, and plan to live hear for more. Staff is friendly and constantly improving the building. Security is on top of things. Over all good building and look forward to what's to come next.

I absolutely love Myra, Suzette and Emilio. I have been in this building for 10 years and this is a winning team. They like each other and work well together which in turn bodes well in making for a well oil machine. Any issues I have are treated with respect and do attention. I hope to live here for more years to come.

Westview Apartments

Great location downtown - right by the 8th Street C-Train station (which is the free part of the C-Train, so if you work downtown and live at Westview Heights you don't have transit fees to get to and from work). As well, there is a convenience store in the lobby - and security at night, which makes a downtown building feel safer. The property management / maintenance staff are friendly and helpful whenever there is an issue that needs to be addressed. In addition to a Tim Hortons on the corner, there is a great WAVES espresso cafe, which is open at 6: 30 am Monday to Friday and 8: 00 am on Saturday. So, if you get up early and need a latte - it's just steps outside the building door:) Pretty sweet.

I see some people have had issues with this building. At the same time, I've noticed the property management continues to step up and improve things, which is a sign of people who care. I will say that given the reasonable rent, the west facing view of the mountains from higher floors and the overall convenience, any lingering issues may have to do with living downtown at 8th and 8th SW, which is not for everyone. There is a 'sketchy' vibe in this area - despite the downtown university building on the corner. Once the park is renovated, hopefully the area will improve. That's the only reason I gave four stars instead of five. The people who work here are five stars and there are enough friendly neighbors to compensate:)

There aren't enough good things I could say about my time living at Westview Heights! The building
management, staff & maintenance alone made living here such a great experience everyone is so friendly and helpful and which made living here so enjoyable. Beyond the location there are so many perks to living like a great gym, a nice big pool and a convenient store in the building.

In the future i would definitely move back into the building. I would recommend Westview Heights to anyone looking to live downtown!
