Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre

We went for a member of our family they had fainting, very bad pain, fatigue & struggle standing up alone. We didnt like how one of the nurses tried to take away the wheel chair when we needed it telling their patient over and over again “you can walk if you can” when we stated they can not right now? We told her they can not walk right now and they do need it and she just shook her head in like disappointment pretty shocking. Also they were there for over 24 hours & weren’t provided even a snack isn’t that why we live in Alberta & have free healthcare idk. Some nurses were nice some had a attitude so hit or miss.

I had cataract surgeory performed at the Wetaskawin hospital, all the staff from that hospital I came in contact with from admitting to all the nursing staff where very friendly, explained all the steps of the procedure, I give them all a A+. A special thanks to Ruby, Jenny and Dennis for walking me through the steps of the procedure which turned out great!
I would highly recommend this facility.

The labor and delivery amazing! I have no complaints here. We had our little guy March 2022. I loved not having to share a room with another family. The nurses amazing especially Paige.

Called from Calgary for a family member and response for an ambulance to Wetaskiwin was more than excellent. Shout out to Kristy for dispatching help, Shannon for helping me to navigate to nurse Melissa.who was kind, informative and more than attentive to questions. Healthcare is as good as it can possibly be. Thank you Wetaskiwin Hospital.

I'm new in Wetaskiwin and an asthmatic. Couldn't find my inhaler and was having an attack in the middle of the night. Showed up in respiratory distress and they helped me immediately with no wait. Few puffs of medicine and I felt better immediately and they sent me on my way.
The ladies here are awesome

I was in the ER recently and I was very impressed by how attentative they were to me. From I got in and interacted with the charge nurse, to registering and then being treated inside by the other nurses and doctors. I give all of them a AAA rating. They did a battery of test on me to determine and to narrow down the cause. Thank you very much, you are all appreciated! Keep up the good work!

The nurses in the maternity ward were amazing. Very nice and personable. They seemed to really care that we were comfortable and well looked after. We started in the emergency where some of the nurses were either unfriendly or clung to their medical ideology. Our choice not to accept pain meds or sedatives and our request to keep the placenta did not seem to sit well with some of them. With that said, most the nurses were great and the doctor too. I noticed that much of the equipment in the hospital was literally falling apart. An old man hit the floor after the wheel of his walker fell off mid-stride, among other things. One nurse even made a comment eluding to the hospitals lack of quality equipment. In my opinion, that reflects poorly on the provincial government and AHS more than the hospital itself.

Came here for 7 stitches on my head after getting absolutely no care from leduc hospital, they took me in and made me comfortable, checked in on me multiple times and very friendly.
Worth the extra drive for the care

I had a surgery done by Dr Badawi and his team and they were amazing. Made me feel so comfortable and nurse Brenda was also great. Definitely recommend!

Discriminates against addicts friend waited 5 hours going through alcohol withdrawls they never seen him he went home and started to have delerium tremors had to go to leduc.waiting room floor had cigarette butts masks and even a apple core

I recently had surgery at the wetaskiwin hospital and after many surgical procedures in my days, this was hands down the best experience I've had thus far. Not only was the doctor and the anesthesiologist amazing, the nursing staff was absolutely fantastic. Very thorough and always willing to help. Since visitors weren't allowed, they made me feel comfortable and were very friendly and upbeat. I just wanted to say thank you for all you did for me, and making sure I had the best care possible! My family and I appreciate you all very much!

As soon as i walk in their is a useless nurse telling me she doesnt know things. I new why i was supoose to be there and she basically told me to leave. Thanks for nothing. I fasted for 8 hours for no reason

Today my Mom was taken into the Wetaskiwin Hospital and received amazing care from the staff and especially Dr Berry. Thank you for everything you’ve done.

I came in to the emergency because i needed stitches for a wound in my forehead and i was still bleeding a lot after and hour of waiting.

I was trying to be patient with the staff, honestly as polite as possible. I understood that they were dealing with trauma patients so I didnt have priority. Im in the psych room, and I have my pwn security guard. I've been in the hospital for 29 hours, they fed me once, and I was allergic to what they fed me (I did state my allergies)! So i didnt eat it. The security guards have been giving me crackers, and within the past 30 hours I've eaten 4 crackers, a fruit cup, and apple juice. Which is unacceptable especially after I begged for food because im starving. I was supposed to be out of the hospital by 5 pm yesterday, but now their saying looks more like 5 or 6 pm today. They also didn't give me my medications, and didn't give me any medical attention when I fainted multiple times. And to make the food situation worse I have a health record of disordered eating and anorexia!

Drove 45min and waited 6+ hrs to see a doctor to get my 9 yr old daughter stitches above her eye. She had been bumped down the line for a bunch of drunks with abdominal pains.we would have been better off driving 1hr to edmonton and had a 3 hr wait.what a joke.

Horrendous waiting times, been waiting to get my arm checked as I Had an Iv done on two different times recently and the nurse kept missing the vein multiple times.
After a few days then calling health link and speaking to a nurse about the symptoms showing redness, a lump feeling under the skin and pain, they told me to see a doctor. I went in to get it checked and was nearly turned away by the nurse working the front, who then proceeded to be rough with my arm, saying that theres nothing wrong.
It's been 4 hours and still waiting, yet people who came after me are going in right away. I should've gotten my work done elsewhere.

A friend of the family entered this hospital quite sick. He was tested for covid-19 and tested negative. The man died but was written up as death by covid-19 even though he tested NEGATIVE. That act can be construed as extremely fraudulent. How much money does the hospital receive per covid-19 death? Very disconcerting to hear Canada is contributing to the fake covid-19 stats.

My father has been a Long Term Resident in the Care Ctr, for 3 yrs now.he receives excellent care.he was in 2 other places prior to Wetaskiwin. I thank God every day that he is where he is.being a part of the actual hospital he gets much better care.without daily respiratory care he would have long since died.

Been waiting for 6 hours like usaul everyone is super nice but the wait times are killer. Wish our city could afford more for our Hospital.

The nursing staff here are one of a kind. They are so great at what they do. They care about their patients and it shows. They know what they are doing and I have the outmost confidence in them caring for my loved ones. Thank you for all that do!

Took our son in there for headaches and the doctor did nothing besides tell us give him tylenol and bring home to the tower in 7 to 10 days now my kid is fighting for his life with a brain tumor

Staff friendly but, waiting for 4+ hours, overcrowded waiting room and noone got called in, no one. I know that emergencies have priority and that's totally fine but after my husband and I complained so that fellow patients could hear it we were called in an examination room. Also way too cold in the waiting area, especially for elderly and young people. Quite a few patients left the ER. The examination rooms could need a make over too, broken dated furniture which is a hygiene and safety hazard.

Pathetic service. Staff has terrible attitude. Wait and wait and wait they’ll walk right past you and not even look at you. Terrible compared to Ontario. Wetaskiwin has the worst Heath care I’ve ever seen
