The fact 5”the facility has a pool, a hot tub, a gym floor, a track, and windows all around for natural light make this the best atmosphere to train in imo.
Have called several times over the last few days and no one ever picks up the phone? Wanted to know if the pool is open for public swimming or if they have classes taking place this week.
Wonderful staff, very welcoming atmosphere and nice facilities. The childminding service is so welcome and appreciated, fantastic people working in that area too
Aquafit three times a week has kept me mobile while waiting for a knee replacement and it’s lots of fun. I’ve also enjoyed the cycle class, the chair yoga, abs the seated exercise classes. The only reason this isn’t a five star rating is because some of the water equipment needs replacing.
Summer Day Camps: Staff were very friendly and interested in teaching the kids. Drop off and pick up was organized and quick. Activities seemed also well organized but not very rigid. My son had a blast and was looking forward to each day.
The pool staff and reception are always great! The swim facilities are always clean and tidy. Haven't had any issues yet going 6x/ month since the spring. Keep up the good work!
I put my both sons in the summer Camp and what a waste of time and money. I m siting in my car looking at kids in the green field. They do nothing. Just run around the field. They have so much break. In 2 hours i m siting i see 3 times snack time. So many workers but they don't do anything.
So disappointed. I put my kids in summer camps. Waste of money and time. They do nothing. So many workers but no activities for kids. They just run couple times around the green field. So many snack time.
I've been going here for about 7-ish years, and I've only had a few bad experiences, which were mostly caused by other patrons or just plain misunderstandings. Programs are great, staff is efficient and knows how to do their jobs, really nice atmosphere. All in all, I absolutely adore this place!
I enjoy every class i go, staff are all accommodating and helpful. I really enjoy Monday zumba with Elaine makes me feel stronger and more energetic. Thank you Elaine for the extra time you give with the core exercise, you’re amazing.
I come to this YMCA all the time! Ample parking, nice swimming pool (with training pool and hot tub), good exercise equipment and a running track. The gym always seems to have programs running; often badminton on the weekends. There is also childcare available and a small cafe.
If you are someone who is nervous about exercising, or maybe you haven't really done it before, you should definitely come here. Everyone is very friendly- staff and participants- and I have never heard a mean word or judgmental comment.
I had the best personal trainer, I was put into this program to help me to get back from a serious knee injury. Unfortunately withal the other things I was dealing with PTSD Many other disorders. Now my physician feels I'm reading to try again. Being on a fixed income.so goimhdiagnosed doprdrrs I had to withdraw from the program
Staff are nice however it's like weight training in a daycare. Strollers and women in winter coats should not be running around the track and kids should not be running around the weight area aimlessly. It's seems old/dirty.
The nice thing about this facility is that there are very few people lifting weights here as the demographic consists of primarily older adults. This means that weightlifting equipment is almost always available, but cardio machines are occupied at a higher rate. However, that means that the lifting atmosphere can be a little underwhelming because you'll often be the best lifter in the gym. Their rates are great for children, students, and seniors, but it seems like the average joe's are making up for that by paying more than you would at a similar-caliber facility.
You can really tell it is a gym that services the general public.
Pros: Great facility with a myriad of different equipment to make use of. Chances are, if you have the workout, they have the gear. With a facility like this they accommodate every sport imaginable, with classes on top.
Two cons: 1. Almost every time without fail I am watched by an attendant as I scan in, like I’m some miscreant who never pays for their pass. That’s annoying. 2. People screaming from either the squash courts, or lifting too hard to maintain composure.
Overall it is a decent public gym that may appeal to you if you can deal with the inherent baggage associated with the organization servicing a lot of people.
Large facility, lots of well maintained and clean equipment in an organized environment. Polite, friendly and encouraging staff. Fair prices, lots of activities, programs and classes to participate in for people of all ages and exercise goals
I started my two young boys as members and all the staff have been more then helpful for my little family. They have gone over and above to make us feel welcome. I know have recently joined myself and have been very impressed. Every class I have been to has been so welcoming and have enjoyed every minute. Especially Jens synrgy class and Julianne’s high fitness classes! I definitely recommend!
Came here for badminton since there was no other options around. We each paid 15 and the front desk wouldn't let us book for more than 1h. So we basically paid 60$ for < 1 hour of badminton and had to leave after. She wouldn't even let us book again for 1h later, apparatly we can only book 1h/day/group.
Summer camp is near, and we have registered 2 camps for our kids. Due to some sudden personal reasons, we had to cancel the camp, and there is a cancellation fee of 10 CAD for each kid! Asked the lady at front and apparently this is their policy, and there is no way not to pay the fee. I could understand if cancellation is happening a day or two before the camps start, but we were doing it two and half week prior to the starting date. We just registered a couple of days before the cancellation happened, and we lost 20 CAD. What a rip off! We blamed ourselves for not reading carefully before the registration, and this is also why we gave two stars instead of one. The chance we are ever gonna register any camp from there is quite low now. So if anyone is reading the review, there is always a cost, please watch out and read everything carefully. Don’t make the same mistake as we did.
