Windsor Plywood Edmonton NE

Used to be a really great place to shop now its run by staff that really seem to hate working there and it wears off on you. The prices are quite exaggerated from the previous owners and the quality is much less than competitors with the same product.

Great store with lots of specialty wood products, bought a 12 foot piece of lumber that they cut to specs for me

I started building a deck in October 2022 and the first place I went to for supplies was Windsor plywood on 128 ave. When I first got there Roberto was one of the first to help me. He made a list of supplies that I needed to get things going at the beginning stage. Then every step of the way I got all my questions answered in regards to design and code and materials. Garnet also helped with a lot of know-how with a few steps along the way. I recommend this location for outdoor supplies and advice.

Good customer service, helped us right away, had what we wanted, cheapest prices in the city. Well recommend! The guy that helped us had some serious hair flow:)

Very helpful on getting the right kind of wood for an outdoor bench project the girl there knew her stuff & made it as simple as possible.

After purchasing a bunch of lumber from them and then not needing it in the end, this place made the return easy for me. They picked it up, evaluated it on-site and I ended up getting a refund for most of the wood. Although this was a costly learning experience for me, and of course the return was subject to delivery charges and a restocking fee, I was still happy and relieved I was able to recover most of my money even though the project did not work out as I had originally hoped! Great staff! An associate name David helped me out to pick up baseboard. He went above and beyond and was exceptionally friendly and understanding. I would recommend this store.

The process of ordering my flooring and having it delivered went really well; I got updates from the team whenever a portion of my order arrived at their location, they contacted me when any concerns arose from their end, and answered all of my questions promptly. They were great to deal with!

Always loved Canadian companies. The price of lumber. Ouch.
The staff were on par, I didn't have to explain how many feet in 33" is. Ask me how I know. They walked the wood out to me. Really helpful and outgoing staff.

Got overcharged for a piece of wood. It appears Roberto does not know how to calculate a board foot. I paid 25% more than I should have.

We use to always go to home Depot, Lowe's. But since my visit I was pleasantly surprised with the large amount of choice and fair pricing on the products. The pleasant and helpful staff and large choice of product has now made this my number 1 store of choice.

There brown presser treated lumber does not match or look as good as other's theres looks and is green they will tell you its brown

I went there after while. To be honest I never thought that I will ever go back there after my previous experience from couple years ago.
And I was really surprised. Great service and (mostly) very friendly personal. Lot of knowledge and willing to help customer.

Good stock and some of the staff are good. Some watch you wander around the store, load what you want then ask if you need help. One guy behind the counter is very grumpy, not helpful and not pleasant to deal with. I try to buy whatever I can elsewhere.

Just want say I had great service by Nick at Windsor. He did his best to find what i was looking for. Unfortunately all three of his suppliers did not carry what i needed. Nick kept me informed and I appreciate his effort.

The Product (s) /Service: good selection of lumber, doors, and mouldings. Lumber is pretty good quality from what I've seen. Didn't need to burn through many to find quality pieces.

The People: had to do an exchange returning two orders (one with receipt one without). Roberto was really patient with me and helped me with the whole process. Another gentleman who walked by overheard what was going on and just jumped in and expedited the whole process. From the looks of it they have a fantastic work culture and everyone is super supportive, friendly and helpful.

Took a course here, amazing! The staff are so knowledgeable and helpful. They had an answer for every question. I feel confident going here even as a beginner! If they don't have what you need just ask, they will get it for you!
They did not make me feel like my project was below them, even though I was a beginner. They listened intently to every word, and answered my questions, AND gave advice to keep me from making any mistakes.
My friend was there with me and he is a professional carpenter. He loves it there too, they cater to all abilities. I cannot say enough to express my absolute satisfaction with the staff and products!

Came to this store today to compare some prices for a project. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They helped us figure out what we needed and were also super nice. Roberto Martinez helped us and he was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this store to others!

Wow! I showed up and it was -20 outside. I came into the store and was met by very courteous staff in every part of the store. I was buying some of their t&g pine for my cabin and everyone pitched in. I was loaded up in no time flat with the help of 2 really awesome employees. I didn't notice the cold after this great customer service experience.

I buy alot of material here, they have new management that seems pretty unhappy. There were 2 if us buying material yesterday, they had 5 guys helping the first customer, and I was told that they were too busy to help me. 2 customers and they were stressed as if they couldn't handle all the work. I saw the manager berate 2 employees outloud, not a great thing to do in front of customers. Get better management. On the other hand, the employees are great, do their best to help and be friendly.

Wow what an enviroment! The staff were immediately friendly the moment I walked thru the door. Everyone was extreamly welcoming and said hello to me with big smiles on their faces. Eger to help with my upcoming project, they asked all the right questions and gave me an array of options and choices to choose from.
They walked me thru the store and even answered question I'd never of thought to ask.

These guys are 100% the real deal when it comes to "the experts you need to know"

NEW OWNERSHIP! NEW LOOOK! & BEAUTIFUL STAFF!

This store is on my way to a bigger building goods store and I've always pulled in here first to shop local. I am consistently let down here though. The answer seems to always be "no we don't have that" or "we can't do that". So I always have to go to Home Depot. But today, after calling ahead and asking about getting a bunch of plywood ripped and told that they can do it, I was again let down. With more than three guys standing around doing nothing I was told they don't do finish cuts, but after telling them I talked with someone on the phone earlier they told me they will charge me $120 to do it. Be a helpful business and start with "yes, and? " instead of forcing me to go elsewhere. Just got home depot to do it for $5 for 15 minutes and a smile, plus the sale of $300 worth of plywood.

I may be biased but this is an awesome store to deal with! Great selection and staff, amazing live edge and hardwoods!

This store has undergone an ownership change. The store interior has had a complete makeover, and they are currently working on the exterior. Lots of new displays and products. As always a very knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Seriously, this place is bad!

I have been there 2 times, in both cases service was slow, indifferent and careless. Literally for any piece of wood I wanted, I had to wait to get the price from a computer (putting price tags on, you've heard that practice, right?)

And I had to drag purchased wood to the parking lot myself with nobody around even to hold a door open or offer a cart. My last attempt was to get an estimate for a garage package, and their "garage specialist" did not bother to call back with a quote.

Thanks for letting customers know they are not welcome here. I will take my business elsewhere.

Small selection compared to other windsor plywood. I leave 5 min away from this one and drive to sherwood park where the staff is much friendlier and more helpful. I called this store to ask about a product. The gentleman said he would call me back in a few minutes and never did. Bad service! Go to sherwood park!

Firstly, this was not my first visit - but it will be my last.

I'd like to say the front counter staff need to be commended for the environment they work in.not only is it overly noisy, dusty, dirty and cold they were very friendly to me. So for staff - 5 STARS.

I came in to look at the selection of hardwood that had arrived - a fellow wood lover let me know there was some amazing hardwood available - and after looking through the assortment, I was so excited I had some figuring out to do before I made my purchase. So as I make my way to through the obstacle course of products.this guy comes up and yells at me like he has every other time I go there What are ya building today? He obviously works there as there's a name tag on his messy shirt. I mention I'm just looking and continue to wander around looking at the completely confusing array of stock. The one thing that really got me was two things.firstly the amount of signage.like confetti! There everywhere, and the prices are all over the map! Now, you'd figure that this outfit would know the difference between square foot, linear foot and board foot.some of those signs confuse the two - especially square to linear.big friggin difference!

I watched as Mr. Messy Shirt, AKA the BIG boss-man, started to berate an employee right at the counter in front of not only customers but other staff as well. I can't believe this guy. This place could easily be a case study in toxic workplaces. I was dumbstruck, I could see the change in the employee's eyes, another couple just turned and left shaking their heads. Other employees were rolling there eyes and I watched a scene unfold that reminded me why I appreciate where I work and the supervisors I have that treat everyone with respect. No one would dare to try that in a real business.that's a behavior that creates lawsuits or postal events.

I made a decision right there that I was not going to buy the 230 BF of wood I need for the project I was working on. I'll go buy it somewhere else. Somewhere, where employees are not treated like dirt, and customers don't have to be exposed to crappy behavior.

Later that day, I called my friend to say thanks for the info on the wood, but the place doesn't deserve my money with what I saw. He agreed he's seen similar behavior in the past, and only buys there because the price fit's his budget.

I felt like going up to this wannabe bully and let him have a lesson in respect, even though he might be twice my age, but I figured the 2000$ I spent elsewhere speaks loud enough for me.

So for big bossman: 1 STAR, because there's nothing lower.

Bernard, thanks for the excellent service.you are very knowledgeable and good at what you do.we ordered 3 knotty pine doors.they were received within the week (exactly what we requested - they look beautiful), thanks again, you make us want to return for future supplies. Also, thanks to Chris, he made sure the doors were loaded in the truck in such a way that there was no problem on their trip home - weatherwise and he ensured the packing around the doors would not let them mark (also, very friendly). Awesome.
