Every time I come here I am surprised with how awful the customer service is. I have come here on 3 separate occasions over the last year and the folks that work here are so grumpy. They seem to be under-staffed and it's hard to get help. One of the older staff members usually kind, he has helped me each time and he seems to be the only one patient and offers advice. The one on the north side (st Albert trail) has MUCH friendlier staff. Each location is privately owned so the level of service varies so greatly.

Picked up my order and they had two guys load all my doors and trim. I didn't have to lift a thing. Feels like I travelled back in time, I never see customer service like this anymore! Will be back for sure

A whole bunch of staff standing around. No consultative help whatsoever. Getting any price or product information was like pulling teeth. Expected more from Windsor.

Where to begin with this place? First don't shop there they have the worst customer service I have ever seen. I have never been treated so terrible in my entire life. They are rude, they lie, and the girl with long hair and glasses is the worst of them and should be fired. I would say what happened over a course of a week but would be to long of a review. I did end up with a door machined backwards at the end of it all. I did not get an apology and of course would not fix that same day. Nope had to go back for the 6th or 7th time. At the end of the day Stan Zizek owns this store along with 2 others in Edmonton. When I asked for the owner to call me to report this bad behavior, I was told he was out of the county, I said well when he gets back then.they said he's rarely in the country I then asked for an email of course does not have one, just the store email. Stan if you want to know what's going on in your stores try staying in the country. I do know these stores are individual owned however I will never step foot in any Windsor Plywoods again.

VERY knowledgeable staff and very friendly. Best service I ever had at a lumber store and always going the extra mile to ensure the customer is well provided for. Never had a complaint. I always go to this location as they have competitive prices and have hard to find lumber. If you need an expert in Stains.they are the EXPERTS!

I went in to the store to get some Oak wood for a desk I’m building with my Dad! I don’t live in the area and he told me that they were the nearest place to shop.
I was very impressed with the friendly, professional nature of the store! They greeted me with smiles when I walked in the door and I ended up asking the Manager Sydnie for assistance in finding what I was looking for. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, personable and professional! Would highly recommend going to see her! Thank you Sydnie!

Fantastic, Professional customer service from Sydnie! She is very knowledgeable and happy to take the time to help me find the right products I needed to complete my projects and she was very happy to answer all my questions and explain in detail why she recommended the products that she did.

Cashier was rude. Didn’t provide flagging when it was obvious it was necessary. Will not return. Take your money elsewhere.

Wow what an enviroment! The staff were immediately friendly the moment I walked thru the door. Everyone was extremely welcoming and said hello to me with big smiles on their faces. Eager to help with my upcoming project, they asked all the right questions and gave me an array of options and choices to choose from.
They walked me through the store and even answered question, I'd never of thought to ask.

These guys are 100% the real deal when it comes to "the experts you need to know"

They have good products but ticks me off the price they quoted was different than what I was charged.overcharged for setting up a jig that only needs to be done once but they charged for three times.

Do not use this Windsor plywood - go to the mid town store. The mid town one is a well run shop, great attitude and work hard to help you with what you need. This one is more of a headache.

Case and point, today I buy 7 sheets of melamine. At 11am I pay 54$ a sheet, at 3 pm I pay 70$ a sheet, when questioned the owner/manager could not care less.

Another example, i've been waiting since February for them to re-order door knob stock that ran out, I have even tried to make a special order, no luck.

So ask yourself, do you want to shop at a store with this kind of attitude?

I feel it important to note that this is a management/leadership issue. There are hard working staff here that set a hight standard in spite of the barriers placed before them.

Always a little disappointing coming into this store. There's always lots of staff on hand, but if you don't look the part no one comes to help you. I've been here multiple times and really thought twice about coming back here because both my past experiences have been the same. Condescending looks and a lot of eye rolling. Guess they just want to sell to a certain clientele.

Just finished my basement reno and all my doors fit perfect and flooring looks great. Guys here were great and walked me through the store to see all the styles they have.

Love the selection in the store. Any of the low ratings are well deserved when it comes to customer service. Store leadership, it is one thing to respond to a poor rating and say “sorry”, it’s another to do something about it. Perhaps start with putting personal cell phones and the distraction they cause away. A thank you might not hurt either.

Best place in the Edmonton area for wood and moulding. I drive in from Stony whenever I need anything. Always worth the drive.

They seem incredibly expensive. Guy behind counter seemed rude and couldn't care less on finding me an alternative solution. Nice thing about wood is it grows on trees so lots of other stores to deal with.

We ordered a few doors that were only suppose to take two weeks. It was about 4 months in and we called wondering when they will be ready. They stated that they are ready for pick up, however when we showed up, they stated it will be ready “next week”. We live out of town about 2 hours and they pulled this stunt 3 times.

Always a good selection of lumber and friendly staff who always offer other options when discussing projects.

Just wanted to check your website to compare prices of either underlay plywood or 1/4" 4' x 8' sheets of plywood. Not only was your website difficult to navigate to find what I wanted, it showed no prices.
So Lowe's it is.

Loved the place. Was looking for flooring. Limited choices however selection and price were exactly what we were looking for. Staff was polite and checked our items quickly and asked if we needed assistance putting the product in our truck. We be returning if I need any other products

If i could rate zero stars i would. Absolute horrible service, not a single hello, hows your day. Nor can I help you find anything. But yet two guys up working at the till. I will gladly take my business else where.

Don't let his crusty exterior fool you, Ethan is exceptionally helpful in helping you find the right wood for your project. All employees at this store take the motto "service with a smile" to heart while providing wonderful customer service.

Brought in my old door and they matched up a new one. Fit great and I had it the next day. Lifesavers!

Rarely has stock of what wood I use all the time unlike other locations. When they do it's questionable. Stopped in to get a sheet of Baltic birch and needed one cut. I was the only customer in the store and was informed it would be 2-3 hours as they were processing a large order I asked if it was possible to sneak one cut in and was told no. I will not be shopping here again. Too many disappointments. Go to the 99th street location. Better selection and way better service.

Great Staff who know what they are talking about. Very Helpful and have good ideas for different projects. Always help make with suggestions for the best finished product and give great customer service.

Josh Zizek is terrible to deal with.don’t know why they keep him around. I would never deal with a company that has managers who treat people like this!

Doors look great and cannot complain about the quality of the product.

But, I was disappointed with lack of communication from the team. I waited 3 weeks for them to call me and tell me that my doors were in and to bring my old doors in for machine-to-door and reblock services. When I followed up they told me they had them for weeks but didn't have my templates. At the time of sale, I was told by their front desk staff that they would contact me when they needed my templates.

I would go without the machine-to-door services if I could do it all over, as they did not match the hinge notch sizes to my provided hardware nor did they chisel a notch for the door knob faceplates.

For a store that can be intimidating as a female, I had excellent service today at Windsor Plywood! The staff must of been able to see that I was a little out of my element and were quick to jump in and help! They showed me the various options that were available within different price ranges that would be appropriate for me to complete my project! I left feeling comfortable and confident to complete the job independently. They even offered for me to call or come back in if I needed a little guidence with the project. Thanks for the great experience! I will be back in the near future.

Ryan the Manager is not a solution oriented person. I brought in an old door that I needed replaced. They cut out the holes for the door knob and deadbolt, notched out the hinges inset but not the deadbolt inset. You can’t really install a door without that being done. When I asked him to send somebody out to get it taken care of he explained to me that he doesn’t have anybody that handles that. I explained that there are quite a few door installation repair service companies in the Edmonton area. He again explained that he is not capable of using his phone to call one of them and provide proper customer service. Over $300 for a new door that I have no use for now. Thanks Ryan. The two guys at the front counter were incredibly helpful which showed me they actually care. Boss was away, but you would not have known it. They were patient with me and jumped to get my my products even from outside during this miserable cold snap. Good job, guy. You have my business from now on.
