NO MATTER WHAT DON’T RENT HERE!

1) It’s not safe;
2) horrible management;
3) forget about the contract cuz it doesn’t mean anything to these people as a result you don’t get what they supposed to provide you with
4) don’t pay deposit in advance because you are not going to get it back no matter what.
5) Some employees here are also fishy for example: I’ve been asked by LAURA STAFFORD to start making payment to the new account and NOT TO MENTION IT TO OTHER RESIDENTS.

I just graduated from the JWS program today. SUCH AN AMAZING PROGRAM! Would highly recommend taking this course if you are considering going into the trades. You get lots of hands on training and experience and learn so many skills. The staff and instructors are absolutely amazing and always willing to help in any way possible. You receive so much support and encouragement throughout the program. The relationships made here are so special. I will never forget this amazing experience. Love my wbf fam. <3

Wish I never rented from here, maintenance sucks. Also, very ill mannered director Shawna Boreen, she’s very condescending and will talk down to you.

I am here to say Joy Vonk is a nasty human being who works in women building futures in Edmonton Alberta as a housing director and allows racial harassment and bullying.
This women has gaslighted me to save face and protect my harraser cause they have some type of relationship. I have never in my life felt so unsafe at women building futures all because of what Joy Vonk did. She is a nasty spirit.

Joy Vonk? Be careful with that one, she is not what she presents her self as. Awful programs and instructors, I would reconsider if I were you. Very rude and unhinged people that work here.

I came across the most impolite person Joy Vonk who works as a housing directer and was left with a bitter taste in my mouth. I also saw a dead rat in one of the closets when doing a walk through of the apartment, yuck.

Don't walk, run away as fast as you can from this building and their horrible management.

My friend is renting an apartment suite from them and has been dealing with bullying and racial harramnent. My friend went to the landlord to complain about the issue and the landlord told her theres nothing they can do about because no one lives in the apartment. The landlord told my friend that just so she can protect the racist bully. So the bully feels even more comfortable becuase she feels untochable and has been continually harrsing my friend. They share the same wall and there living room and bathroom are opposite of each other. Since the walls are very thin, the bully will talk to my friend at the wall and call her racial words and a bunch of other hurtful things. If my friend goes to the bathroom the bully will follow her. It has gotten so bad the police are involved. The landlord dosent care and is still protectting the racist girl.

Women Building Futures is horrible. I don't recommend them for their program or for their housing. I know so many girls that either lived there or took one of their programs and had a very unpleasant experience and felt unsafe.

I lived in this building from 2014 to 2020 and will be always grateful to those who support it. As a lonely female international student living way far away from her family and circle of friends, that tiny cute unit was my only safe place in the whole world. I think that was the case for many of us living there. Such a great intention to support lonely girls and women. The place was the best when I first arrived when Kim Butterfly was there and I am very much thankful to her. Laura was nice, too. Overall, everything was great and I am forever thankful to the supporters of this building. I found a great job and moved out of Edmonton but I will always remember there

Absolutely amazing organization, providing life changing opportunities! It’s hard work but they help you become the best you can be! If you can get into any of their programs, You won’t regret your time spent with them!

Currently in a program through them as well as an alumni. As a graduate my training was actually highly respected for Journeywoman Start and got me several jobs as an apprentice insulator.

From my experience this organization takes government funds in the guise of helping women, and gives little to nothing back to these poor ladies.

Too top-heavy meaning there are too many supervisors and management they need more people on the ground to help clients
