Workshop Studios

Had loads of fun! My instructor (Jo) was very kind and patient with me. She taught me many useful techniques to use for ceramics, and I hope to come back! The space itself is incredibly lovely; there are so many plants and it is such a welcoming and calm environment.

100% worth doing a date night here. Super awesome experience, can't recommend this enough. Looking forward to doing this again. Pottery do be hard though.

Absolutely loved my Level 1 Throwing class. Anna-Lise was such a great instructor and the space is inviting and relaxing. My only issue is how hard it is to get into a class but that won’t stop me from taking another class.

My daughter and I have a great time in this private workshop. Informative and fun. Our instructor was kind, helpful and a pleasure to talk with. I only wish we had something like this closer to my home in small town Saskatchewan. Very THERAPEUTIC

Genuinely amazing. I think it is so important to continue to try new and fun things together with your spouse and wow did this date night ever exceed everything. The studio itself is the most stunning environment. The staff are beyond incredible and the actual pottery making was so so fun. The live DJ sets the vibe and the wine is the cherry on top. If I could recommend everyone try this date night I 10000% would. The best date my husband and I have had in a long long time.

Such a beautiful space! I went for a date night with a friend and it was my first time working with a wheel and clay. The instructors were super friendly and made the experience really fun. Great tunes by the dj as well, would definitely recommend this to everyone!

Just finished Wheel level two - what a great course and great instructor. Pivoted to show us the things we wanted to learn how to do. Made some amazing pieces.now the wait from the kiln.which seems long, but really isn't!

Such a lovely experience. A well thought out workshop with perks of 24/7 practice hours, and lots of hands-on support learning a new creative skill. I loved it!

Workshop is a great studio space! Their classes are very useful and the techniques that are taught are super helpful. I’ll be returning for classes in the fall and can’t wait! If you are interested in taking a pottery course, I would highly recommend Workshop.

Workshop studio offers a bright, roomy, welcoming facility and our instructor Leil is generous with ideas, information and clear instruction.

Had a bachelorette party booked for months in advance. Showed up day of event and was told they were cancelling on us because instructor was sick and they couldn’t find anyone else (who doesn’t have staff back up for private events that are booked well in advance?) We were refunded our money but other than that, there was no accommodation or effort to try to salvage the event for us. We were left with nothing to do for our brides day. Wouldn’t recommend booking parties because it could cancel day of and your event is ruined. It wasn’t possible to reschedule because people were in from out of town. Not impressed. Will not book with them again.

My son and I had a wonderful two part lesson on throwing pottery. I highly recommend Workshop Studios. What a great place! Thank you so much for taking the time for us and sharing your knowledge.

We just hosted a staff event in the space, and everything from beginning to end was great. All of the staff there were super patient and incredibly helpful.

My husband and I, along with another couple just finished a “Wine and Wheel” Date night.it was FANTASTIC from start to finish. The instructors were knowledgeable and extremely helpful, the DJ played great music and the wine glasses always seemed to be full (not because we weren’t enjoying it). We will be back and would highly recommend this as a date night for anyone looking for a fun, creative and unique experience.

After taking several classes I decided to become a member, and have been a member for about 6 months now. My experience as both a student and a member have been nothing but pleasant. Calgary is really lucky to have Workshop!

TL;DR enjoyed the classes but some of my pieces went missing and communication was abysmal and they don’t seem to care at all

My first experience with Workshop was a date night in 2019 which both my partner and I really enjoyed. So when covid hit and they started virtual hand building classes I signed up for one in April 2020. The class itself was great and I thought the instructor did a really good job even though it was virtual. I got to glaze those pieces in August 2021 and again enjoyed it and thought the instructor was very inclusive. Understandably I was pretty excited to pick up my pieces. I got an email on August 27 the pieces were ready and I went to pick them up on August 29 but 2 of my pieces were missing. I immediately emailed the Workshop team and they communicated on August 31 that they could also not find the pieces but would keep looking. I followed up with an email on Sept 7 and Sept 17 and finally received a response that had emergencies, were short staffed and were still looking and would get back to me. After receiving no correspondence for a month I followed up again Oct 17 and haven’t heard anything since Sept 17. Ultimately I enjoyed the classes but am extremely disappointed in having pieces go missing and the lack of communication and care from Workshop. Their system to pick up pieces is to put them all in a shed outside the facility with very little organization and you have to pick through a lot of other peoples pieces to find your own. It’s very possible for someone to unintentionally take pieces that don’t belong to them. I do know things can go wrong but after this experience I have zero confidence in this organization to deal with issues with any professionalism, efficiency or compassion.

The space was dreamy, the music absolutely on-point and the instructors knowledgeable, helpful and so friendly. We had an amazing, well-needed, date night and will definitely come back. Thanks again!

Went here for a work function, and we had a great time! The staff were really fun and helpful, the equipment was a blast to learn on, the wine was lovely and the DJ they provided kept up a great background soundtrack. Definitely will be checking them out for one of their "date nights"!
