We're not from Calgary but we stopped in for a quick snack before an appointment and we'll absolutely be coming back! Everything looked so good. The only issue was trying to decide what to get and not over shopping! Settled on the cheese bun and a braided dessert type pastry. Iced caramel machiatos and it was all so good! Service was polite and friendly. Definitely recommend this little gem!
Thank you very much for the delicious coffee! And special thanks for the presentation! It's very unexpected and very pleasant! Delightful atmosphere, products and staff!
We had an absolutely lovely time at WOW bakery this afternoon. We tried a few pastries and beverages from their coffee bar. Their croissants were perfectly flaky and there were so many interesting flavours and textures! Our fave was the tiramisu and coconut croissants. The mochi buns were filled with the smoothest matcha cream and the signature latte was delicious.
Everyone was super nice and we ended up staying there for a couple hours because it was such a beautiful and comfortable place to chat. Thanks for all the amazing food, drinks and vibes!
We have tried WOW's cakes over the years and they have always been well made. We got the Earl Grey chiffon cake for a birthday celebration and the cake is very light and airy. The Earl Grey flavor is on the subtle side but I believe I can appreciate the tea flavor if I focus on it.
The part that missed the mark for me was the whipped cream. It was light and not very sweet but the layer was thick and if you had enough in a bite, would mask the tea flavor. I think it would have been a lot better if the cream carried some of the Earl Grey flavor.
Overall, it was not bad but I don't think I would go back to this cake.
Boss, look.many people have been cashiers for a long time. The female manager says she is dirty and the service is not good. Is this a family run business? You have to do it in moderation.not once or twice. It's really annoying because I feel bad after spending money. I'm never going again. And Manager Jumma.if you have a conscience Stop yourself.
Hey! Please take a look. Many people have been complaining about the woman cashier, who has been working there for a long time, saying that she looks dirty and provides poor service. Is it a family-owned business? They should handle it appropriately. It's not just once or twice; it's really frustrating to spend money and feel disgusted. I won't be going there again. And to the manager lady. If you have a conscience, please quit on your own.
My wife and I go to this bakery regularly and have never been disappointed with their products or service. We are greeted immediately when arriving and have always found the staff to be very nice, the female staff is very nice and always smiling, if you're not sure what to get, she will help. Whether we are in for a quick stop and shop or catching up with friends, we find the atmosphere very welcoming. There is a nice seating area in the back that I have used many times for studying or reading. There are many things to choose from, we regularly have their cafe latte and earl grey cake both are very good with the flavours being just right. You won't be disappointed when you stop by.
With this location it's a bit of a surprise anyone would go to the Chinook one. This is a great bakery, great selection, great prices, they have it all. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, I always make sure to stop here if I am nearby but also will go out of my way for it anyday.
I visited this bakery for the first time a few days ago, and it was incredible! The service and atmosphere were everything. I asked what their recommendations were, and I bought all of them (the garlic bun, red bean cream donut, and twisted donut). The kind man who checked me out also gave me a free matcha croissant for buying their recommendations. I will gladly come back here again for the friendly service and delicious goods. Thank you for a wonderful first taste and visit!
I ordered a slice of strawberry cake. The box it was packaged in was lovely but the cake was dry, whipcream was fake and strawberries were not cored. Just wow.
Wow Bakery in Calgary is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves Asian-style baked goods. From their famous milk bread to their savory and sweet buns, everything is made fresh in-house with a special technique that creates a unique texture and flavor. The cozy and inviting atmosphere, combined with friendly and helpful staff, make this bakery a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with your treats. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the items, and with a wide variety of cakes, pastries, and cookies to choose from, Wow Bakery is an instant classic
I bought a cake here for a friend’s birthday. Their prices are unbeatable for what you get. My friend loved the green tea cake, it tasted as good as it looked!
Their pastries are also delicious. I would recommend red bean filled donut, it was so good I might have to visit this place more often.
My partner was looking forward to trying this bakery so we went out of our way to pick up a pastry and try it out. We picked something up and asked the cashier if it's ok to sit in the back in the cafe area because it was empty and it looked like it was more for display than utilitary, cashier said 'yes, go ahead'.
After we left my partner told me while we were sitting there that the lady working there was complaining in korean to the cashier that went something to the effect of "why did they have to sit down, they should just leave". They assumed we couldnt understand what they're saying but my partner is fluent in Korean. That really put her down to make her think she did something wrong.
How incredibly rude and ignorant do you have to be to say such things within earshot of paying customers and assume they won't understand you. She was quick to brush us out when we were leaving too. Just for context, we sat down for less than 10 minutes after we ordered and this place was almost 3 hours from closing time. Were we that much of an inconvenience? Absolutely shameful behavior.
The inside was clean and well kept and the pastry were decent. Only reason I'm not leaving a 1.
You could have the world's best bakery/cafe but if you treat customers with such passive aggressiveness especially when you, in lack of better terms, talk s**t to their face without them understanding or at least assume they don't than you don't deserve their business.
Highly don't recommend, awful service.
