We winged it and found a spot in loop c. It is a relaxing spot walking distance (100m or so) to the Bow river. The other campers were respectful, and pleasant. There is a lady who comes by periodically who works for the park and she is also pleasant.
The staff here seem to have time to hassle you over their small "double campsites" and watching the dump station instead of cleaning the bathrooms. There's no power here, so get ready to listen to cheap construction generators running all morning and evening while the boomers crank their light rock playlists even louder to compensate.
Love the area. But the group camp is overpriced for what you get. A outhouse and a feild to camp in. 30 bucks a night is a little steep. Someone is makeing a ton of money to camp in a provincial park feild
It's my favorite little local place. It's been a family place for two generations now. My mom went camping with my sister, and now we take my nephew for floating, camping, bridge jumping.it's always been a local spot, and it will always be our favorite little place that's not too far from home. The different birds you get too see and watch fly in and out. The little quiet places to sit and hang out in the water. It's honestly, just prefect.
With reservations only in A & B most sites are empty except for weekends. Such a waste of camping sites that in years past were filled on a first come basis. Better rethink!
Wyndham Carseland Campground management, this rant is not for you, I hope you will bring attention to the grumpy old man in the general store beside Adam and Harry’s hideaway campground, he is ruining the campground reputation as well as the town’s. If you plan to camp here, bring all the necessities and don’t forget anything so u don’t need to buy here. That old guy there is super rude, we had very bad experience today on what he did to the kids who just want to try the ice cream. I had very long post that I will not mention here as it takes to much space. Just check comments on the reviews at Adam and Harry’s hideaway campground and you will see all the negative reviews. I liked the Wyndham campground, we enjoyed our stay here, but this man ruined everything. He doesn’t even realize what trauma he did to the child on his words with slapping on his hand off of the glass window. Nobody wants to see or touch that dirty ice cream display freezer.
Beautiful, fairly large campsites. Well treed. Lovely walking path along the river. Other than not having power, which was fine as we have a generator, this was a nice little hidden gem that isn't far from the city!
Great area. Fishing wasn't great, but river access is nice, couple easy spots to get water level at day use. Also two great playgrounds and a campground with no services, but looked like $4 sani dump station and water taps /outhouses present.
A lovely campground not far from the city. Most sites are well treed and offer great privacy. Pit toilets are available. There is a playground - but it can be quite hot there during the day as there is no shade for the kids. The river can be a nice place to cool off - but also can run high and fast, so use caution. There is a small sundries shop with ice cream, which is always a hit. Reserved sites, first come, first served, over flow, walled tents and day-use area - there is something for everyone!
The Good: The camp sites in many areas are spaced out. There are also a couple of group sites. Some are close to the river. Sites are clean. Black water drain/dump station on site. Two playgrounds.
The bad: lawless at night. Lots of loud parties. Staff not caring. Wood is not free. Dump station costs $6.
Some sites are very small. Lots of nice trails for hiking. Tons of bird life if you like bird watching. Many good spots for fishing. Have 2 good playgrounds.
Down side: bathrooms leave Alot to be desired. Only passable in cleanlines. They need to more about the smell. Many other campgrounds have drop toilets and are much better looked after.
The camp operator is extremely rude tried to change rules around and tried to charge me for a full site twice when i had 3 accomodation units 2 tents and 1 trailer I paid a full price of $31 there was no water available and very unclean pit bathrooms do not recommend ti anyone and will never be back
