I felt shamed for my body hair while getting it removed due to my excess body hair from genetics/hormone imbalance. I was constantly told over and over I must shave when I just have naturally course hair. The whole session maria just complained about her bad reviews, going into detail about scenarios, how they’re all liars and how “these younger waxers don’t know what they’re doing” to a point she was just putting down her staff and other business. My wax job was patchy and I had hair left, I felt ugly. She waxed things I didn’t ask for just because she saw the hair. I was charged extra and told mid wax when I was vulnerable. Never going back. Disgusting attitude by Maria.

Maria is extremely thorough and gentle. Sugaring doesn’t hurt a bit when she does it, and hair grows back slower and thinner due to her excellent technique. She makes sure to remove hair right from the roots. I have been a customer for many years, and never want to go anywhere else. Highly recommend.

Normally I am pleased with the services offered, but I had an experience that was extremely disappointing. The owner who I was booked with was running 15 minutes behind, I did not get an apology for this. While waiting, the owner's husband disrespected the very kind window-washer, calling him a drunk and making fun of him. I was so angry I almost left. During the same appointment while paying, a man with cognitive disabilities came in to say hello. The husband then howled in laughter when this man left.

It has taken me awhile to write this, so that I could process.
I had an extremely disappointing and frankly disgusting experience with the owner.
It started in the spring, when the owner’s husband stigmatized a local window-washer (I’m sure you can read my previous review on here). Following that interaction and after my review was posted, the owner approached me after my next appointment. She told me that she and her husband are “good Christian people”. She suggested that I come talk to her if I have a poor experience (fair), and she could provide free appointments to folks who aren’t happy with their experience. I said thank you, but not necessary, I would just like to see changed behaviour. She offered again, and I assured her no, I am not looking for free treatments.

At my next appointment, the owner pulled me into her room and said “I am going to ask you to remove your review. ” I said I would think about it. The owner asked why, I said because I wanted to keep her and her husband accountable, and I wasn’t confident that that had happened yet. As is my write to write an honest review. The owner then threatened me by saying she has spoken with her lawyers and they will be coming after me. For an online review. She then told me I am spreading lies about her and her husband, and I will only be hurting the other women who work there. She went on to say she has a witness (which is fine, because the cameras caught everything… there’s MY witness). I was so upset I left, and will neot be returning.
I APPLAUD the women who work at this place. They are wonderful and talented and nothing but kind. As long as I have been going there (3 years), I have found the owner to be the pushy and the rude. I chalked it up to “oh, that’s just her personality” but no. Not anymore. I am appalled at how she chose to handle these particular situations.
I wish nothing but the best for the women who work here, and hope they quickly find someone more deserving of their talent. Or perhaps they will open their own establishment. I would gladly spend my money there.
It is the owner who ruined it for me, by first trying to buy me off and then by threatening me. Good riddance.

I went for my very first lash lift and tint here. Before I made the appointment I spoke with the owner Maria to make sure that it was okay to get a lash lift if I’m taking latisse (makes eyelashes thicker). She told me it was fine and that she used this ointment herself. I went for the lift. The girl was very nice. But 1.5hours later there was no change in my lashes at all. I thought that I was seeing things or expecting it to be more curled than it was but it literally looked EXACTLY THE SAME. I spoke to Maria (the owner) about it and she graciously offered to redo the lash lift for me herself. This time she told me to try to stop taking the latisse for 2 weeks prior so n order to see if it would make a difference. I then made an appointment with Maria herself, for Monday at 5: 30pm which was about 6 weeks after the initial appointment. I showed up at 5: 20pm and the door was locked and no one was answering the phone, doorbell or the multiple knocks on the door. I stayed for about 20 min and left. I called multiple times over the next 2 days only to get voicemail. I left multiple messages on Monday as well as Tuesday and did not get a call back.
I finally got a hold of Maria yesterday (Wednesday) and she promised me a FULL refund. I followed up with Maria today (Thursday) to make sure the refund was done, only to have Maria saying she cannot give me a full refund because she “can’t afford it”. Then she denied that she promised a full refund the day prior. To make matters worse, Maria denied ever making an appointment with me for Monday at 5: 30pm. The more I insisted that this was the case the more her story kept changing. At first she said that I was not even in her schedule on Monday. Then she claims that she waited until 5: 15pm for me and I didn’t show up for a 5pm appointment. Then she blamed ME for the fact that the lash lift didn’t work the first time because I was using latisse and denied that I had okayed this with her BEFORE the first appointment.
After all this, Maria circled back to the fact that she is not going to refund me the money if I didn’t show up for an appointment. I told her that if she looked at her own security camera she would see that I was there on Monday at 5: 20pm for a 5: 30pm appt. Maria said she would check her security tapes as proof and get back to me but would not commit to a time or date as to when she would get back to me when I requested a day/time. Very poor customer service especially by the owner! Buyer beware. Do not go here!

Maria is a master of her craft! She takes great pride in her work and the results definitely show. She takes care during your session to make everything perfect. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Winnipeg.

Sat for 2 and a half hours. Mentioned multiple times I wanted volume, and when finished I ended up with classics that looked like they needed to be filled… very disappointed.

I'm not sure where to begin with this salon. The staff are very friendly however they fail to provide good customer service. They seem to be more focused on making money than pleasing customers. Many of their staff members seem to be in a rush and care very little about how they treat their customers. They value their own time over yours. 8/10 times they were behind schedule resulting in my appointment starting late, or they didn't have anyone at their front desk so I would be locked out of their building also resulting in my appointment starting 10-15 minutes later without any notice. They lack respect for their customers. If Im paying and tipping for a service I do expect the best treatment and quality, something this business lacks extremely

People are very nice, the service quality depends on provider though. I had sugaring, different facials, and last laser - I see results but some technicians were not so good

I highly recommend this place. Maria and her team are awesome! Very knowledgeable and professionals. Karina did my treatment and she explained every step for me.
