Alena Rustic Italian

Came here for a company Christmas party and my GOODNESS it was an amazing time. The service was impeccable and super friendly, I've never been to a bar before this and hadn't really drunken anything alcoholic before so I had no idea where to start. I'd asked the bartender's their recommendation on something fruity and nice and they hit the nail on the head so well for what suited my favourite flavours.

The food too was amazing, we started with coal fired pizzas and literally all of them were fantastic. The chicken alfredo (?) Pizza in particular was fantastic, I'd never had anything like it before and I'm already craving it again. For appetizers that I had a chance to try: the calamari and garlic knots were phenomenal. The knots were crisp on the outside and hot and fluffy on the inside and the calamari was made perfectly, not rubbery at all. The main dishes included steak and spun chicken and *chefs kiss* the chicken was so so SO good. It was so juicy and flavorful I legitimately can't believe I've never been here before, any time family comes in and we're deciding where to go I'm gonna make sure this is it.

Another huge thank you to how awesome and fun the staff were, if I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Had an early nee years eve dinner with wife and my parents, was promptly seated and got ourselves an aperol spritz, negroni, a glass of prosecco and a placebo to start things off. We decided to order a bunch and just share everything so that we can sample as much food as we can. First off was the mussels which was very good and a must try! The sauce on that is so good that we started dipping the pizza crust in it.the papardelle cinghiale is also very good and another must try here for sure. When it comes to pizza I always like to try the Margherita because if it is good then you know that the pizza in that place is legit and hands down they definitely do pizza absolutely well in Alena, we also tried there signature pizza and it is my wife’s favorite. Burrata cheese + garlic cream = deliciousness! We also tried the NY strip loin and it is also superb. Overall we had a wonderful dinner and will definitely be back to try their other dishes, another must try restaurant in Winnipeg.

The photos don’t do this place justice. Real Italian cuisine with classy vibe. We enjoyed all are dishes and shared everything. We ordered garlic knots, grilled prawns, eggplant parmesan, chicken mushroom pappardelle, chicken pizza, ny steak. Everything was delicious. The cottage salad was the only bland dish. Not many non-alcoholic options to drink. Great service and care for customers. We’ll keep coming again.

Everything was perfect. The service is excellent. The food was excellent. Parking was easy to find.
İ don't live in this country but i felt the pricing was a little outrageous. İt's a strip mall higher end restaurant. İt is definitely not glamorous. Nice place. Nothing special in the decor or view. İm sure you could find a more interesting place/ environment for this price point. The locals obviously are accustomed to it as the place was full and everyone was having a good time. İ didn't feel the value.

I attended an event here last night and everything was perfection. The servers were very attentive, the restaurant has a cozy ambiance and a rustic charm, the food was top notch delicious. We were served with a huge variety of items—from appetizers to desserts. It was an excellent way to sample their menu. For the appetizers: my favourite was the garlic butter knots. I also loved the mini creamy salmon bites (quiche?). For the mains, I loved the rigatoni, chicken, prime rib, and eggplant parm. For the dessert, we had tons to share and having a sweet tooth, I loved everything.

We had a stellar experience and would love to come back and try the rest of the menu.

We had a wonderful meal here last night, with excellent service. The pizza and steak were excellent, and we had a Mediterranean bass fish of some type, that was fantastic. Will be back again.

We had Hailley as a server and was amazing for our party of 6. Great timing, prompt service, knew the menu, drinks and specials well. Hailley was able to handle food allergies with alternative options.

We had the eggplant parmesan, pizza, pasta, chocolate, zucchini, cake, and the donuts for dessert.

Wonderful experience having dinner with friends at Alena last Saturday. The menu is great, and there are lots of choices. Staff are friendly and helpful. I have soy and nuts allergy and was able to eat almost everything there! It will be my favorite place now.

I came here yesterday with my daughter and partner. Food was tasty. The atmosphere was nice. Quick service. The problem is that I tried to take a bite of my pizza and I hurt my tooth. Found out there’s a chicken bone snapped In half.
Now I know why the food came out so quick. Also since I’m here anyways your bottom of the crust is soggy. Learn how to cook pizza and or take your time.

My partner and I had a fantastic meal here. I started with the mocktail- the placebo. It was excellent. It was so unique with flavours of ginger, cardamom and cranberry but all the different flavours blended so well. It was well balanced, not too sweet, not too sour. The meal only went up from there. The garlic butter knots were so flavourful and a wonderful texture. They were perfectly crispy on the outside with a soft doughy centre. The meatballs had a hearty depth of flavour with the lightest texture. The focaccia served with was house made and delicious. You could taste the smoke from the wood-fired oven in the bread. We had bacon and basil rigatoni next which the kitchen pre portioned for us as we were sharing. The ingredients were fresh and simple but expertly seasoned and came together beautifully. Next we shared the tres carne pizza. It was topped with an abundance of cheese which my partner and I appreciated and all of the meat toppings were flavourful. Finally we finished the meal with the zeppole. You can’t go wrong with cinnamon sugared donuts, but the vanilla custard cream added extra dimension to an already delicious dish. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and each dish was well timed. Everything came out hot and fresh from the kitchen. We were not rushed but also weren’t stuck waiting for long periods of time for the next dish. We’re already planning our next visit back!

Reservations are a must for a great meal that I do not have no bad reviews on.
The service was great, seated quickly at our table waitress took our order and we didn't have to wait to long before our meals came.
It is very rustic style and the Italian cuisine is very appealing.
Reccomend this place to eat with friends or family. Very good to the palate.

Excellent food, friendly staff. My waitress Christal was the friendliest, funniest, and most engaging server i have ever had in my life. Got the porterhouse steak with potatoes and veggies. It was easily the best steak of my life.

Drinks & food exceeded expectations. Highly recommend their limoncello soda drink, the pasta & their veal chop. Service was excellent everyone in the staff was friendly & attentive. Can’t wait to visit again!

I had the veal chop. Rose has mussels.and slow simmered meat balls.
The portions are plentiful.the mussels were the biggest I've ever seen.
I also did not expect such a large veal chop.like a tomahawk steak.
Done to perfection with incredibly tasty sides.
If u haven't been here in the evening, u are missing a best kept secret in Winnipeg.

The place looks so romantic for me and my wife! We loved the taste of the food and the price is good. My kids also love their pizza.
