We had planned most of our wedding ourselves, but as the big day got closer, we realized we needed a pro to help us tie up all the loose ends that were left hanging. We ended up hiring Amanda for wedding management, which was the perfect solution for us!

Amanda helped us nail down a complete wedding day schedule and patiently talked us through all of the decisions we had left to make. She took the pressure off of our friends and family on the wedding day by overseeing all our events, decor set-up, and family photo session. As soon as we met with Amanda on Zoom for the first time, we immediately felt better knowing she was going to keep us on the right track and make sure our wedding day went off without a hitch.

Amanda is kind, organized, hilarious, trustworthy, experienced, and truly amazing to work with. We highly recommend her services to any couple who feels even the slightest bit lost or overwhelmed in the planning process.

We hired Amanda for our August 2022 wedding and I am so thrilled we did! After having to cancel many times during the pandemic, we knew we needed some expert help to make our dream wedding a reality. We decided to go for the full planning package, which included one on one consultations and budget planning leading up to our big day, as well as her services throughout our wedding day.

She offered invaluable tips, advice and insight into what would be best for florals, decor, fun ceremony ideas, dinner service.you name it.
Her online client portal has so much to offer and is organized with her clients in mind. It is obvious why she has been in this business for as long as she has.

We met several times over video in the months leading up to our wedding to discuss all of our event details, and she was also on hand to meet with our caterer and take notes on all things we liked/didn't like.
She has solid connections with vendors in Manitoba and facilitated all meetings, requested quote adjustments and figured out all the logistics so that I could focus on just getting married!
During wedding week she made herself available for any last minute details and calls and on the wedding day she executed everything to perfection.

I'm so grateful to ADE for their excellent services and would recommend her and her team to anyone that is looking for a stress free, enjoyable and handsoff approach to wedding planning. Bonus points to her for also being a dog handler for our Corgi who was a flower girl. She does it all!

Amanda was our day of coordinator for out backyard wedding in September. She was amazing to work with, so organized and even though she was a day of coordinator we had multiple meetings leading up to the wedding which were super helpful. I don't know how out day would have went ahead without her, highly recommend!

We did a custom wedding. Meaning everything from food down to the lighting was out sourced by individual vendors. She organized and managed all our vendors. We had a vendor issue day of, she did not only resolve the issue but did it while setting up our venue. Allowing my husband and I to enjoy our day, focusing only on each other.

Her attention to detail and care for our guest is unmatched. My brother is autistic, so he is sensitive to sound and needed specific food/drink. She not only ensured his food was prepared properly she also checked in with him several times thought out the night. She ensured my grandma that needs a walker was alway comfortable and that there was always a safe walking path for her. These are the little details that make the night go by perfectly.

I highly recommend her services. Her personal approach, experience and attention to detail will help turn your day into something truly special.

We did not even know where to begin when planning our wedding. Amanda was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. She was essential in the planning process and also on the day of the event. There were a couple of issues on our wedding day and during the reception, but due to her expertise and experience we did not have to worry about them and weren't even aware there had been any problems until afterwards. Amanda is amazing! She is always there for you every step of the way and makes wedding planning easier. She kept my anxious mind at ease when I thought I was falling behind and she always had realistic timelines for everything. We worked with Amanda for our wedding in Aug 2020. Planning a wedding during COVID was interesting to say the least. Amanda was an incredible asset and instrumental in our wedding going off without a hitch. She has a knack for not only seeing the big picture for the entire day, but also is able to focus on all the small details that tie everything together. Our family and friends were so impressed. She took all the pressure off of us and our wedding party on the day and I cannot thank her enough. She is a consummate professional yet at the same time feels like a friend. Amanda Douglas was my wedding planer in August 2019. She helped me to plan most of the wedding, long distance. I was working in Thompson, Manitoba for the year and Amanda and I at first had monthly Skype meetings that eventually turned in to weekly ones. She held my hand through every step of the planning process, helped me budget the wedding and opened my eyes to the reality of the wedding planning. She was there for when I could not make a decision and helped me to narrow down the choices. The day of the wedding Amanda and her team transformed the Fort Garry Crystal Ballroom into the elegant timeless romantic space. She was there to make sure food went out on time, that everyone made their speeches, and any misshaps looked like a natural planned thing.

Having planning a destination wedding, my now husband and I needed a lot of help for sure. So we did our research and went with ADE's full package. Through this package I received an excel sheet of to do lists and what our budget will look like initially.

There were ups and downs as for any planning, but mostly ups. It was helpful to have Amanda be able to answer our questions. At first I thought she would plan everything (it's technically my first time getting married and going into this so that's why). Anywho, I thought that ADE would plan everything, but for the most part they guided us in the right direction. So if you think they'll do all the work, that's not true. ADE will help with research, recommendations, savings, venues etc.

Basically all the stress was removed from doing our own research and finding venues. I wouldn't have been able to pull a wedding like mine off without her help. The package comes with "day of coordination" and it went so smooth. Planning over the course of 11 months was intense but we pulled things through and it helped financially to start early on as we were able to pay our bills and wedding expenses this way.

From a brides perspective, I think it's important to know what you want, and not necessarily take advice when you feel you don't need it. For example I was suggested a pop up photo booth which would have costed a lot but instead I went with a DIY guest book I got from etsy and a mini 9 instax which I can just own now. Just make sure your guests change the settings for the brightness on the camera or have someone do it. I did a lot of DIYs and it went so well on the day of for Danielle and Heather to set up, Amanda's team was so amazing! Very kind, helpful, and well coordinated.

I would change a few things including: creating an email right off the bat for just the wedding and to contact venues etc. Finding a commissioner sooner (this was my fault) rather than later as we found Deb (super awesome) 2 weeks before the wedding.

Additional comments, it was so nice to be able to chat with Amanda by Skype and see her in person. Talk about what I pictured for our wedding and what I didnt want to see. Amanda gifted me a little emergency kit which I used during our honeymoon. Thanks for that!

I created extra excel sheets including the music I wanted played generally at our wedding and gave that to our DJ which helped us dance some more as they were familiar to us.

Overall, Daniell, Heather, and Amanda were of great service to contributing to our beautiful and well orchestrated wedding day. Also, super cool to have been recorded when Gabe and I danced our little number, so happy to be able to see that on her Instagram. I asked Amanda so many questions, live and just by DMing her.

Would I hire Amanda again? For sure, no questions asked. At the least hire her for day of coordination! I did a whole lot of YouTubeing, Pinteresting, reading, asking people, about weddings, and day of coordination is a must so you could enjoy your big day! Thanks from the Ross family.

I was planning my own wedding when I found Amanda Douglas Events. I had the opportunity to intern with her for about 5 months before my big day. I am so grateful for the internetship as I did not realize how much her and her team do before during and even after the wedding. I hired her instantly, my husband (fiancé at the time) didn’t understand why we would need someone to help with day of coordination. The day of the wedding came him and Amanda got along she asked him questions as much as she asked me both of us were involved as much as we wanted to be. The wedding day came, Amanda took care of everything you name it she was on it to the late bus with the guest to helping us line up to get ready to start to my mom feeling comfortable to talk to Amanda about getting food service started a little earlier. My husband was so thankful for her as she would bring him a plate to eat and tell him to take a break, brought a drink when we couldn’t find ours made sure we were ok! Not once did we know if anyways was wrong, Amanda Kept everything calm and enjoyable for us. I can honestly say it was the best day of my life because we had someone we trusted with our special day to make it special and it was beyond special.
