Very misleading, the return agent blamed me for putting a “dent” on the car. The “dent” in question was so small that it was easily missed during my walk around, so there’s no proof that I was the one responsible, it could have been a previous renter. As a rental company, you just have to accept that there will be wear and tear on your vehicles and not try and make your customer pay for all the maintenance.

I rented from this location may 2023 and the service was fast, friendly, and no issues whatsoever.
The suv was well used before I rented it to say the least, but it was clean and got me from A to B as intended.

I asked for a compact car that was good on gas. I got a Mitsubishi Mirage, which is what I was after. Gas mileage was okay, factoring in wind and speeds travelled at. Only issue was with the Apple car play. When ever someone called, they could hear me, but I could not hear them.

Flor is an absolute pleasure to deal with, she is the reason for the 5 Stars. She is the sole reason I choose Avis over the competitors, really goes above and beyond to provide servicing, and accommodating clients. She is a pleasure to deal with and it is clear that her staff to do. I can recommend this location to everyone, I understand theres an airport location which is great, but Flor is the person who does doing business easy.

I always look forward to visiting her and the team at King Edward Location

Every time I rent a car in Winnipeg, the car reeks of a cigarette smell. This is a problem with other companies, too. I am very allergic to cigarette smell so the choice is try changing cars everyday only to get something bigger and more smelly or suffer.

Avis Car Rental was a great experience. The airport location can get busy especially when a number of flights arrive around the same time but the agents handled the rush very well. There was a difficult customer ahead of us but the agent handled it with very well with professionalism and courtesy. They even let me switch the vehicle from one truck to another that had more desirable options. I will definitely use them for future car rental needs.

We flew in to Winnipeg to visit family and went to the Avis counter. There was hardly any lineup and it moved quickly. They gave us a choice of three different vehicles and we chose the one we originally booked. It was ready to go with a full tank of gas. The vehicle was just as advertised and there were no issues.
When we returned, we accidentally left our son’s booster seat in the vehicle. After some initial confusion, the customer service from Winnipeg reached out to us and located our booster seat. They then arranged to drop it off with our family in Winnipeg who are travelling our way from Winnipeg in a couple of weeks.
Overall the rental was great and the customer service afterwards went above and beyond. We were very appreciative of their efforts and will certainly use a Avis again!

Sincerely, go with ANOTHER car rental place. After being led to believe I was getting a better price for a car rental due to a corporate discount, they added kilometre fees without mentioning and more than doubled the price at drop off. Even though the pickup and drop off location DID not change, the price did and the agent named Alvin at the desk did not even bother mentioning this. Why on earth would we take the more expensive rate? Seems like a really deceptive trick.

I was not able to reach anyone at this location to help me and customer service hung up on me. I cannot believe that businesses are allowed to operate unethically like this, not disclosing fees and acting like they’re doing you a favour.

I will never be using Avis again and I strongly recommend you find another company if you’re reading this before completing your rental.

The Avis team was very helpful and patient with all our questions. The car was just what we requested and was spotless. Drop off was smooth. Overall a great experience.

We have got a downgrade! Not worth the money. AVIS promoted an Jeep grand Cherokee and we got an Santa Fe wich was damaged all sides.

Update.
The support is very helpfull and very kind. So I changed the rating to neutral! Maybe we have luck to get an appropriate car next time.

I reserved a vehicle April 16 2023 for the dates Sept 22 9: 00am until September 30 at 6: 00am. I was given a confirmation and a reservation # of 10863670CA6 and a price of $276.81 using a corporate email. I was again given a reminder email confirming the price and the dates Aug 25th, 2023. When I called to confirm this, I was told due to high demand the price has increased to $1500. I then called back to cancel and was told they could not honour the price quoted one day previously and confirmed through email, but they could lower the $1500 to $470. I was then told that the prices can flutuate by the minute and reservations are not honoured until pickup or unless paid in full. Neither of the agents were able to accept a copy of my email confirmations, which i was told were irrelavant anyways as there is surge pricing. This was all done through their website. This is disappointing and I will not be booking with Avis nor recommend their services to anyone in my company again.

We were in a rush to return our car to the rental office at the airport, and I left my Sony wireless noise cancelling headphones in the car. I called and left the manager, Flora, at least 3 message but I never heard from her.
Of course it was my fault for leaving them behind, however, I would think a manager would at least return a message.

Brutal service, when I returned the car they had nothing in their system that matched the contract I had. I had to wait at the desk for over 45 minutes before they could sort it out. Twice they suggested the car I had and it was the wrong one. I do rent alot of cars, from lots of different locations and this is by far the worst I have ever experienced. I will not be returning to Avis at Pearson Airport.

The rental car itself was great, when I dropped the car off I was rushed out of the car, no reciept (I could get it online after) and missed grabbing my prescription sunglasses. I was told to contact the counter and I could make arrgnments, for weeks I called the ddesk number and was always sent to central reservations. Not being able to contact the desk is a major concern, if it was a problem with the car I would stranded.

**Edit: to reply to Blake the avis lost and found only works for US based offices and tells you to contact the front desk at the location of the rental.

Very friendly and great service. I just think all these rental vehicles are priced kind of high. Not sure how they compare to others. The vehicle was a 1500 Dodge Ram. A very nice vehicle.

Avis saved our vacation! After another rental company gave away our paid for reservation, Avis helped us quickly and kindly! I will only rent with them in the future!

If you're going to lie to my face, you're getting the worst rating possible.

Was renting a vehicle for about four days and at the desk, they informed me they would need to hold nearly a THOUSAND dollars as a security deposit. When I questioned why that was so ASTRONOMICAL I was told it was "industry standard. " And that's where the lies come in. Because I have been renting vehicles for almost eight years now and I have NEVER witnessed a security hold that high. The average has been about 300$ which I had accounted for when booking. If my trip could have been possible without a rental I would have walked away from the desk then and there. As well, service agents were less than helpful, and harped on the "industry standard" line as if it were the only programmed response they were capable of generating between one brain cell.

I will never rent with Avis again, not after this experience.

I would do 0 stars if I could but that isn't an option. My mother went to the Avis Car Rental by accident instead of going to the Car Rental place she had booked. They called her stupid and told her to get out when she asked if they knew where the location for her Car Rental place. This is highly unprofessional and I hope this isn't a regular occurrence with other people. I understand that my mother was at the incorrect location, but the costumer service could be better. There was absolutely no reason for him to call her stupid and make hand gestures, talking her to get out.

With the tire blowing out at 100 kph, oil change, continual electrical issues, not able to put the car in 'Park', worn front windshield wipers, several hours spent dealing with the tire (u.s. Customer service representative was horrible, Canadian Customer Service Representative was excellent) : dealing with u.s. Customer service, given number to call in Canada for roadside assistance, being towed to service station because there was no jack in the car for the donut tire, missing several hours of important working time, having to change the oil, reboot the cars computer due to all of the electrical issues, not be able to put the car in 'park' twice.get the drift.

This was not my car, i rented this car from your company because my company uses your company and is recommended for us to use. During and since the pandemic, i've rented several cars in Chicago and now two in Canada. I don't know if you have a mechanic shortage or you're hiring less qualified mechanics or if Avis is just trying to save a buck or two, but one of the last times i rented in Chicago, i had to change vehicles twice within two days and on this trip to Winnipeg and approximately half way between Winnipeg and Saskatoon, I was told that I would have to have the vehicle towed or drive to either Winnipeg or Saskatoon to get another vehicle! What? ! I'm the customer not an Avis employee! I would expect that if one of your rentals breaks down or endures multiple complications that you would have a Rep.meet the customer with the replacement vehicle and then handle the vehicle being replaced; Not the other way around? ! This rental was a HUGE inconvenience and constant worry that i was going to break down in the middle of nowhere and then be told to find my way to the nearest Avis facility!

So no, i would 'not at all likely' recommend an Avis car to anyone.that now includes myself.

I wouldn't recommend this or any other rental place at the airport, if you can avoid it. If you can taxi to a non-airport location, you'll save yourself $40/day on your rental.

Aidan at the car drop-off for Mayor! Smart, friendly confident and willing to take on any task. Titles do not matter. If the job needs doing, or a problem solved, Aidan's got it. Oh, and don't worry if you've forgotten your phone in a car and the car is half way back to the depot. Aidan will find it! Great work to the YWG Avis team.
