On Sunday mornings The A&W at 1520 Portage Ave quickly became our favourite goto restaurant. We are a group of 10 or more, who needed at place to gather for good food and chat after Sunday services.
Celina and Joey always greeted us with great service and the best attitudes. Always going beyond the fast food experience typical of this type of restaurant.

We have been going to this restaurant after Church every Sunday for quite sometime.
Joey and Celina gave us the best experience and we’re so friendly. They would come over and check and say hi to all of us quite often. Fantastic service!
We will miss seeing you guys every Sunday as we have to move to another location in Transcona.

Terrible, they are not allow me to use a washroom without placing the order! Could imagine that? ! I am about to talk to their main office to get explanation about this wield policy.
Stay away from this place

Its 10pm Waited over 20 minutes and still no food in the drive through. If she didn't take my payment I would have left had I known it would take that long for fast food.

Thank you so much to Joey for an awesome drive-thru experience today (Sept. 7/23 at 2: 15ishPM). Joey was very friendly and kind when explaining the meal deals to me. They had a lovely smile on their face the whole interaction and made me feel very welcomed. They were very personable which is not a common trait in drive-thru service. Thank you, Joey, I will definitely be back again!

Food was hot and fresh. August 25th, 2023 had the spicy mama burger. Was good but not as spicy as they made it out to be. Had onion rings with cappuccino. Everything was good. Service was lacking tonight. Guy didn't focus on the customer and started talking to another employee without finishing my order fully. Didn't even tell me the amount till I saw it on the debit machine. Didn't ask if I was paying by card or cash.

If you've been to a whataburger in Texas, this is about as close as you get in canada. Drive thru open 24/7. Watch for specials on the sign outside. Lettuce wraps available. Onion rings are spectacular. Poutine is my regular pick. Always clean friendly staff.

No ice but the mugs come cold

Worst drive thru in the entire world. Why even have a drive thru when you make everyone pull into the parking lot for 15 minutes to wait for their food. Everytime.

Restroom Access and Food Disappointment.

I had hoped to wash my hands, visit the restroom, and then place a takeout food order. However, I encountered an unexpected hurdle as I was denied access to the restroom until I made an order. This policy seemed illogical, especially considering the potential discomfort of using the restroom alongside food. I also questioned the legitimacy of this requirement and whether it was legally permissible. Furthermore, the food itself left much to be desired in terms of flavor, raising doubts about the certification of all the employees as Food Handlers.

Kind staff, even when they're busy and loaded.

Breakfast is cheap and tastes good enough to get my day started.

This location of A&W serves the best food and tasty and quick and cherry on top is workers who work they are so friendly and helpful. I am a vegetarian so I don't eat at any other A&W this location maintains good hygiene practisces aswell. Highly impressed by service I get every time I eat here

The place was very very dirty including almost all the tables and the bathrooms you didn’t even want to use. Hope the kitchen is clearer. Not sure if I will be going back to this location. Very disappointed

Bacon cheddar uncle burger is amazing if it’s fresh and done right.

Worst drive through experience ever. They have 6 employees working in the store while there is only 1 dine in customer. Took them 5 mins to response back to me at the order machine and 10 mins to make a chicken buddy burger. I don't think they know what they were doing, my grandma works faster. Feel bad for the owner of this business.

If you are going to order in drive thru at night, good luck for you, but on the other side, you can bring your blanket with you and have 1 hour sleep in drive thru after ordering

Everything was ok. The only thing that ruined the mood was that the chips weren't hot enough. True, in this place for the first time. In general, prices have gone crazy. To go with my daughter to eat, I'll think twice. Forty dollars is a lot. Although, I confess, since the winter, from eighteen plus, they dropped to sixteen plus per person. McDonald's is five dollars cheaper.

I had the munchies real bad and i went through the drive through on my bike and they still served me 11/10 experience my only complaint is they forgot the ketchup

Very nice customer service. Great location with easy access to the entire restaurant, along with plenty of parking available. The food was very delicious and the drinks were as delightful as well. I recommend visiting this establishment again in the very near future.

First time visiting this site and first time having breakfast sandwich, great food and staff
