2 stars because the food was good. The service however? Awful. I came in to order dinner for my birthday, to be able to pick up later, and the waitress began to vent her frustrations to me about how her coworkers don’t show up so I shouldn’t expect my food or to be served if I sat in the restaurant. I get being frustrated, but don’t take it out on your customers please! I was just wanting a picture of the menu so I could call it in when I went to pick it up after, it wasn’t cooked yet and so it took even LONGER even though I called 2 hours in advance.

Sat there for 20 minutes lady comes take the order thingy and didnt even ask us what we wanted just took them and we sat there 20 mins so yeah would of love to eat there but poor service

Went for breakfast at 9 am. Party music was blaring in dining area so sat in the lounge in order to hear my companion. People were slamming back drinks at the bar already and getting a little hostile. Had to search for server twice to get coffee refill. Went back in the evening on another day. Service, food and atmosphere were better.

After the move into Mystery Lake it seems Baacos is going back to 2013. My last few visits have been met with extremely long waits for food, and servers who seem to forget that people even exist. Every time I have ordered a lunch, or takeout for home, there's always something that ruins it for us - wether it's extremely long wait times (45-50min wait for a chicken wrap during a lunch hour with little to no customers is not ok.), no sauces, cold food on a pickup order, or not getting the order correctly.it seems to happen every visit. Also, grated cheese on soft fries with sloppy gravy is not a poutine.

Very cozy place, but the food I got was burnt, the batter on fried foods left a really bad after-taste, and the service was really questionable. Still, the place has a lot of options and the aesthetic of it is really cool!

Service is bad today Called at 5pm for order pick up and went inside the store at 5: 20, turns out they didn’t make the food yet for some reason… so we decided to have it delivered instead but still it took them an hour. Sad

Wont even answer my calls, tried order delivery, called 12 times and they let it ring. Maybe its because i called at 11pm and they were closing at 12am. Messaged my buddy who used to work there and he told me they purposely dont answer calls during the last hour.if it was a minor inconvenience where the person who takes orders and answers the phone was probably out having a smoke break and couldnt take my call, they would have called back. But they didnt. All i wanted was nachos, if yall didnt feel like delivering it i could have picked up. Or close earlier and take delivery off your services. If you dont like cooking and just stand around during the last hour why even say youre still opened? Leave your voicemail like, " hi this is baacos, if youre calling during the last hour of business you might as well just cook for yourself or order somewhere else, we standing around waiting for 12 am to clock out to get that extra hour on our paychecks". Also reminds me, ordered from there in 2019 for delivery and they never even showed up, phoned 1 hour and 1/2 later and they lied saying the driver did show up but no one came out, doubt they even made our order, like if the driver showed up but we never came out, why not deliver it now after we phoned you to check on that order? Basically got told to screw myself during my only times trying to order from this place. I wanna try your specail poutines and nachos you A holes. Answer me next time your menu looks good they should hire staff thats willing to actually do kitchen work and better customer service, the 5 stars is a lie, just need them to actually see this. Just ordered for delivery. All Food came cold, chicken fingers came way over cooked. Pickle poutine was good but very small portion for a large, also cold. Potato machos had barley any meat. Also very cold. The burger I ordered tasted like giant tiger frozen burgers. Awful! This is my second experience ordering from them and I will never eat here again.

The first female server was friendly and efficient. However, she was done shift after taking our order and the server that took over made us wait much too long just to get our drinks including water and pop for a child. The male server was friendly enough but we didn't get checked on regularly for refills, making us have to remember to get their attention to do so. The food took much too long to arrive too, though it was very tasty and they provided good portion sizes.

It was a fun night, i was surprise there is a decent safe place to have a fun night in Thompson.

The place for the best poutine and long island iced teas, great service and always the best place to not be bothered 5/5

Tristin is an excellent cook, great addition to the staff. I’ll definitely be coming back again due to her. Food is delicious and on time.

I now live in Winnipeg. I always have to get the machos and a long island when I make the trip for a visit. Everything on the menu is delicious, and generous portions. Mmmm.

Food really isn't anything special, the staff don't seem that knowledgeable about menu items or drinks made. The renos are nice. A decent place to eat lunch, just nothing spectacular about it.

Service was good, food was better. Ambience was great. Glad we stopped in for lunch, portion sizes were bigger than expected. Reasonably priced. Dill pickle poutine is well worth a try.

Its ok.the waiter totally spilled every drink on my grandma so we ain't never going back for real

If you're looking for a flame-broiled hamburger, with home style fries, this is the place. Take-out is fast.

What is happening at your bar? Half of your VLTs are closed & no half decent chairs to sit on. This is very nice way to bring customers in this & this is no way to treat customers. I aslo see of your food which were & it looked gross. I certainly w6 eat there! How about showing so.e respect for your customers!

Gotta come all the way from Red Lake, Ontario to enjoy the food.couldnt order the best long islands anywhere because I was driving haha.next time.love baaco's! !

Got a footlong loaded dog and 8 wings the bun was rock hard and the wings were really small but did taste good. Service was also pretty slow.

Its chill. The drinks are a bit pricey, Long Island's are the best in town at this establishment

The food is very good and filling especially for its price. Atmosphere is nice and they have very friendly staff. Ask what drinks and food they are known for and you won't be disappointed!

Not the same, and yet familiar. The new owners have turned the place into a revival of the Baacos name in Thompson.

Although I'm curious about some of the design choices they made - I love the brighter lighting and inclusion of couch seating. But the same old tables are still present - a new finish at the very least would have been nice to offset the stickied age of their past use.

On to the menu - it's good to see a return to form with their well-renowned Machos (not Potachos like the inept renaming by their predecessors). The dish still tastes of lattice potatoes, cheese, and nostalgia.

Overhauls of the remaining items saw the removal of my all-time favorite appetizer - Snake Bites (spicy chicken nuggets served with honey dill sauce). So that really affected my final score.
