Banh Mi King - Winnipeg

I've been eating here since they opened. My previous go-to was Viva. While Viva has the city's best spring rolls hands down, Banh Mi King has better everything else. Banh mis are super fresh and authentic. Vermicelli is well-stuffed and lively, all types are equally good. The (bacon) pork belly poutine is a destination dish, even the fried chicken version too. The Kimchi and cheese sauce make it, and fries are very fluffy and crispy. The pho is perfect and loaded. Our favorite is veggie pho with beef broth. Banh mi king is especially good at to-go packaging. We live by the mint and by the time I get home the food is still warm.
They have an extensive bubble tea menu. Smoothie style, juice style, tea styles all excellent, and they have popping boba as well. My fav is the matcha green tea smoothie style semi-sweet with pearls. They also have bubble tea cards as well.
Staff are always friendly, always busy, and work very fast. I will always recommend them.

Bahn Mi King Pho has consistently impressed me with their delicious offerings. While the one pictured may be my least favorite, I'm absolutely hooked with their Deluxe Pho. It's my comfort food and never fails to satisfy my taste buds, and I keep returning for it. In addition to the outstanding pho, their chicken poutine with kimchi and baoger are delectable options. But service is sometimes slow given that they are so busy. What's more, the convenience of pre-ordering and quick pick-up, especially during busy lunch hours, adds to the overall excellent experience.

Very friendly staff and wonderfully delicious and authentic Vietnamese food! Portions are generous as well would definitely be back.

Ordered a couple times now through skip, these are the freshest and best Vietnamese Cold cut subs I've had in the city. This is my new go to for subs.

Wow! The flavours from this place are outstanding! I had the bbq park banh mi, and the pork spring rolls. They were INCREDIBLE. The portions sizes are unheard of for the price! I literally cannot believe the quality & the portion for the price! Unbeatable!

UNSAFE WITH ALLERGIES THROUGH ONLINE ORDERS.

It is so unfortunate that I can no longer trust Banh Mi King with food handling safety in regards to food allergens. I specifically called ahead and asked about their comfortability with nut allergies and noted in my order that there was a severe nut allergy and they still gave me a meal cooked with nuts (wasn't listed in the description of the meal), the receipt even stated the allergy. When I called about this issue, they stated on the phone that they were just busy, during a rush. Very disappointed and will never recommend again.

Had chicken pho. The broth was good, lots of chicken meat.
As for condiments they give only bean sprouts. No lime and basil.

Food was gross.the broth of my pho smelt like perfume, i threw the entire thing in the garbage.the pork sandwich was dry and not fresh at all.waste of money and very disappointing

This was my first time here. I did the lemongrass beef sandwitch and a red Tai milk tea. It was one of the best sandwiches iv had in all of winnipeg. I will be back to try other items on the menu in the very near future.

Delicious Banh Mi (Viet sub) at a fantastic price! I went back to try the bun (vermicelli bowl) is also good, but the Banh Mi is unbeatable in my opinion.they got the right name haha. Staff is friendly and helpful as well.

Ordered the charbroiled pork Banh Mi over delivery. The bread was really soft and the savoury pork was well balanced with the fresh veggies and sauce.

Decent place for Vietnamese food. Their banh mi are tasty and worth the price (one of the best place to get banh mi in town). Their deluxe pho is good but you can have better pho at other places in the city (e.g: pho No. 1, golden elephant,), their beef stew pho is okay, the beef is tasty and tender but overall nothing too special. Nice and clean restaurant with friendly staffs. Their menu is not too big and overwhelmed like other Vietnamese places so you can probably try most of them and find what you like after 2-3 times going.

Excellent service. Great menu and very affordable. You won't leave hungry! Parking isn't great but there is a bus stop in front of the building.
It is so worth it! Definetly will go again!

One dish kind of stew was way to spicy hot. Other dish was a pho was alright way better places around Arlington salad rolls were ok. Tea was best part. Personally I wouldn’t go back.

Very classy feel to a vietnamese restaurant. Although not a large menu.we were very pleased with the selection. Our meals were delicious and the drinks were amazing as well!
Staff were super friendly.and the restaurant was very clean. Enjoyed it immensely, would definitely recommend and DEFINITELY Be returning.

I've tried the Hongkong milk tea with bubbles, Mango slushie with popping boba, spring roll, salad roll, banh mi sub and pho as well and all were good. I bet whatever you order, you'll like it.

The food was delicious. The portion was big. The midnight sky drink is fantastic. The staffs were very friendly and the atmosphere was good. The table was sticky.

Food, price and decor are all on point! Highly highly recommend! Portions are large and sooo good.

The best pho and banh mi in town and always fresh and delicious ingredients. I hope they keep the pho broth as it is and change nothing because it tastes like natural bone broth. Excellent prices! Wait I almost forgot, the Asian poutine is so unique and delicious too!

We just got back from a month long Vietnam holiday. The first place we went to when we got back is Banh Mi King. The food is always fresh, the portions are huge and is so affordable. The staff is great too. We will be back soon! Cảm ơn!

Food was great. I absolutely love the fries! Great texture and just perfect seasoning! Not salty not blant. Viet subs are on point. I have tried the Pho but will next time anf update my review.

4 Stars just because parking in this area is very difficult and have to pay. You can park in Balmoral or Portage. Goodluck finding or waiting for an available spot LOL.

Mon restaurant coup de cœur à Winnipeg. Les sandwiches sont délicieux ainsi que le café. Service rapide et les aliments sont frais. Un must pour les amateurs de mets vietnamiens.

The dish in the photo is a chicken salad.
Their salad dressing was too good, was a game changer. Also, were assured that the dressing is gluten free. There was one dressing used for some items which isn't, however I don't remember the name so just cross check with them.
Have gone to this place multiple times as it is just opposite the University of Winnipeg. My favorite go to item on their menu is Charboiled chicken in the rice section. The salad and rice options are gluten free here.

Ordered a team lunch for our office of 16 people and had an overall wonderful experience. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the size of the portions. The food was delicious and everyone was satisfied with their choices. The ordering process for our large group was extremely easy and we even received free delivery as a result of our order size. I would highly recommend this restaurant for orders large or small. Thank you Banh Mi King!

Their vegetarian sub and their pho is so good, I love ordering from here. Gone in once or twice too with a couple friends and they’ve always been so kind:)

The Pho is the best I have tasted. I am finicky with my soups and I tried the Vegetarian which presentation and taste along with the price was spot on! I look forward to trying more off their menu.

Allow for byoc but I would call to order if not in person, the shrimp sandwich also does not have many shrimp at all! Its for bread fans! Everything else Ive tried has been great

Very impressed with the service and our food! We had the Chicken Baogers, fried chicken poutine and salad rolls and they were all delicious! Everything was hot and fresh, with really great flavours. I also tried the herbal iced tea which was a lemongrass tea, chia seeds, and some kind of jelly. I chose not to add sweetener. It was delicious and refreshing! The staff were incredibly helpful, answered all our questions and made some great suggestions. Definitely a must try in downtown Winnipeg!

I love this place. It is a staple in U of Winnipeg student life. Their Taro milk tea is a wonderful treat. I absolutely love their Shrimp Sambal Sub. I am unfortunately affected by the curse that makes cilantro taste soapy so I have to order without but they are very accommodating and the sandwich is always delicious.

Really good Banh Mi, have to try the vermicelli. I am going to guess it's good enough to warrant a 5, if not I'll come back and give a 4. Will definitely order banh mi again

Nothing really special aside from their desserts and drinks. I love their taro milk teas. Slow service even delivery. Restaurant was clean and looks nice. Does not offer private parking but you can park by the street. Open kitchen setting so expect to smell like food after dining in. Offers variety of food and drinks.

Ordered Pho and bubble tea from Door Dash and it was delicious! Huge portions for a good price, tasty, and great customer service as they called me to let me know they were out of something and were very friendly. I also thought their packaging for take out was very smart for the pho. Will order from here again.:)

USED TO be amazing.

We used to order from BMK all the time but sadly their quality has gone way down the past few months. There's less meat in the subs, the veggies in the subs have gone down in quality, not properly marinated. Over all going from 10/10 to 5/10.

Sadly will not be visiting anymore. Hope the owner see this and fix their standard would love to continue supporting local restaurants but in the meantime will be getting our banh mi's somewhere else.

My young daughter and I stopped in here on a whim to try something new. We got a deluxe pho to share and it was delicious! The to-go packaging was also pretty cool, definitely well made and stood up to a bit of a trip (we had walked a ways). The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

Looooove the banh mi at Banh Mi King. It was a big sandwich and the bun was so crusty and fresh. The meat was packed and very flavourful too. Service was great as well.

It’s great if you dine in. The subs have tendency to get very hard and dry if you order from here and there’s a wait before you eat. But the other stuff - Baogers, Pho, and specially the great Fried Chicken Poutine are so good. Deserves 5 stars for sure for quality, taste, value and location too.

Tropical bubble tea was very good. BBQ chicken banh mi was good, could have used more meat though. Bun was fresh. Unfortunately I didn't like the fried chicken poutine. It wasn't packaged very well and arrived very soggy.

Excellent.the Banh Mi buns are crisper than I am used to, but that didn't stop it from being so delicious. And the meats were fabulous

I drive out of my way to eat here the food is great and fresh. Most important is the people sincere and honest the reason the food is good is the people. I just to say thank you.

I ordered the Charbroiled Pork sub the first time I went to Bahn Mi King. I've gone back 5 times and can't order anything else because it is so good. One of the least expensive but tastiest subs I've ever had.

I shared the charboiled chicken with a friend of mine, thinking I wouldn't like the food since i am a very very picky eater. But Man i loved it, should have ordered my own! The chicken was extremely flavorful I practically ate the whole plate myself haha. I'll definitely be going back. It's a cute calming little place very comfortable and cozy right across U of W. The staff are great Very nice people easy to chat and strike up a conversation with. I definitely recommend if you're in the area, stop by.

Stopped in on a cold day for some pho. I was blown away by the quality of what I got for the price! The beef was perfectly cooked and was full of flavor. The broth was tasty but didny overpower the rest of the soup. The atmosphere was quite nice and the rest of the menu looked quite inviting. If your looking for a quick delicious meal this is the place to go!
