Barn Hammer Brewing Company

Cam was a wealth of knowledge and an excellent bartender. We were traveling west from Ontario and popped into this brewery for reprieve from the driving, as we love a good craft brewery and we struck gold. Between Cam and the excellent selection of beer, we knew we lucked out! We wish we would have had more time to spend here, but we are so happy we had the time we did. What a find! Thanks, Cam, it wouldn’t have been the same without your expertise and conversation! Cheers!

Barnhammer has a great atmosphere. The decor is that of an old barn that you would see in anywhere in Manitoba. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the products they sell and they (the beers) are all actually brewed on site.
The seating style is long wooden tables and tall stools which encourage patrons to sit together and has a communal feel.
Their products can either be sampled in flytes, pints, by the growler or purchased in pre filled bottles.
They dont sell food but you are able to bring your own or order in. This is a really nice touch and is essentially the icing on the cake.

Imagine showing up for burger week to try out their burger of the week.and then being told to go back outside and order the burger from a truck outside the establishment and be expected to stand around and eat in a parking lot. No burger was had, two thumbs down.

Great selection of Barn Hammer beers. Can buy for take away. Cool and comfortable interior, patio seating at front or side. A great brew pub addition.

Grandpa's Sweater (oatmeal stout) is my favourite beer in the world. And I've been to a lot of the world and tried a lot of beers. Granted, beer is very subjective. But it is sooooo gooooood!

Barnhammer is amazing. Wonderful beer, wonderful staff, an entirely wonderful experience. This is the kind of brewery where you pop in and end up staying all night, because everything is so great. Big fan and highly recommend.

Ordered a few different kinds of beer in the tap room, great experience. They do have a small patio outside. And ordered a few beers to have at home too! I do recommend!

My favourite brewery in the City. Great place to sit down for a pint. Very friendly staff and a good vibe. I like the “66”, a New England IPA.

Great Beer. Innovative Barrel program. Staff are great and knowledgeable. Fast service if you just need a few cans, which are kept cold in an easy to access fridge.

These folks make incredible beer and have the coolest tap room in town. They have a patio, they team up with other local businesses to do cool specials. Just all around good people and good business.

Some of the best beer in the country with service unparalleled. Grandpa's sweater is our all time fav stout in the MB. So many interesting and well flavour profiled test batches, in a variety of styles. Thoughtful management and important business in our Winnipeg community, supporting other small businesses and startups. Bonus for us: in walking distance! Is our go to at home in cans or when out and appreciated the delivery option during the pandemic or when it's winnipeg cold out. Lastly, they seem to have a respectful team and appreciation for the community and make their space safe for all. Don't walk, but run to try on site or in cans at the store.

Great West End business! Good beer and a nice atmosphere. They have a few tables inside and a lovely little patio outside as well. They truly take their customers’ and employees’ health and safety to heart.

When the brewery scene finally hit Winnipeg this establishment was a leader. However over the last couple years I’ve noticed they have fell from the top and become stale and boring. I see the same tired beers in the stores, besides occasionally having a decent new beer in their tap room. It’s okay to have your flagship products but not when they can’t compete anymore.

Furthermore I recently noticed that the owners have decided to go against our provincial medical team’s recommendations on health mandates only to impose their own (masks, social distancing and capacity limits). As a business owner myself I respect their right to impose whatever rules they need to, however, I highly doubt they have a medical team providing professional advice. Instead Barnhammer is choosing to restrict their own clients freedoms out of fear. I have had 4 people in 24 hours say to me they will no longer purchase Barnhammer products based on trying to impose restrictions on their clients, and I will do the same. Stay in your lane Barnhammer; it will be interesting to see how they feel once they see a drop in revenue.

Such a great, safe space to enjoy some TOP NOTCH local beer. You can tell the owners care about their community.

Decent place to go for a drink, but the policy that you have to keep wearing masks even though they aren’t required is quite frankly stupid. At this point in the pandemic it’s clear the cloth masks people wear are ineffective. I used to love their beer but they have lost me as a customer. And I drank a lot of their beer.

The folks at Barn Hammer are one of kind. They are passionate about beer, always offering something new and fun, and they care deeply about their employees, customers and community. When you visit, be sure to ask if they have the Pemby Tang - for a walk down memory lane.

If you want to enjoy a real tyrannical soviet experience head on down to the tap room where they will segregate and muzzle you unnecessarily.

Get there quick as the regime is also still enforcing occupancy limits though the restrictions have been lifted. SO WOKE!

The craft beer community is a tight knit one - you lost a lot of business. What a shame.
