This is a beautiful park close to the city. Please if you visit in Winter be mindful of which trails are ski trails and which are for walking. Cross country ski options are limited and we don't want to ruin the park for skiers!

My favorite trails within 30 minutes from the city. Very flat and easy while beautiful all seasons. The photos were taken in the middle of September.

Super close to the perimeter, great location if you’re spontaneously feeling like going for a hike, exploring, or being one with nature.
Lots of trails & Cool spots to check out.
Legally able to fly Drones here as well.
Picnic tables and open green field for gatherings, very big and open so you don’t have to socialize if you don’t want to.
Great view of the River.

Take the robin route in as Wilkes leads you down a gravel then dirt road. Beautiful trail this time of year. Did grape and elm trail. Trail is dry with beautiful views. Be sure to buy a parking pass before heading out as you can’t get one on site.

Beautiful area Along the Assiniboine River! You can walk through trails under the tall overlapping trees or through the open fields - either way it’s always a gorgeous walk! Great place to bird watch! And Always keep an eye out for deer, bears etc.
Should have more picnic tables, directions along the paths. And bathrooms need some regular cleaning and maintenance!

Beautiful place for a hike but watch for ticks, a party member had two on him from a relatively short hike.

1 of the better options for trail running or hiking in the Winnipeg area. However, it pales in comparison to some of the options in the Edmonton/Calgary area.

Could not be a more beautiful forest so close to home. Summer and winter. This past weekend, we were there for the ski. Beautiful cross country ski day. Trails.were well groomed. Not icy at all. The warm-up cabin is great for a moment rest and catch up with friends. My favorite xcountry ski path.

Ended up on the wrong trail. No trail markers we came across. Pretty walk though! Also the basswood trail is only accessible during the winter months?
