Beausejour Animal Hospital

We've been using them for a few years now. Always get us in quickly when needed. Friendly. Professional. And just yesterday, the compassion and kindness when we had to put one of our cats down. Thank you to the staff for allowing us to proceed at our own pace and for being so wonderful. I have been to many vets over the years, and never once have I felt the others were there for the animals and owners.

Love Beausejour! Always friendly and helpful. I love that they are paired with Lac Du Bonnet vet as well, makes it super convenient for cabin season. Dr Brittany is especially wonderful. Honest and upfront and realistic.

This is one of the few vet clinics in Manitoba that still knows the meaning of "care". While other clinics maintain "banker's" hours, closing at 5 PM - and some even over lunch break, Beausejour Animal Hospital has hours that go into the early evening. This animal hospital earns more than the 5 stars allowed. They have emergency services 7 days a week - including for small animals/pets. They are open on stat holidays - absolutely UNHEARD of with all Winnipeg vet clinics except for the 2 designated "emergency" hospitals. AND stay open all weekends in summer, unlike Oakbank Animal Hospital that is closed every Saturday in August! The staff is friendly, kind and professional. We've all gone through major adjustments because of the pandemic, but other vet clinics should start remembering why they went into this career. If they want 9-5 hours, with no working on weekends/holidays and need "staff meeting" time every lunch hour, maybe they should become federal government employees instead. If you want excellent "fur-baby" and "fur parent" care, Beausejour Animal Hospital is the place to go.

We came to Beausejour Animal Hospital on May 9th of this year to have a TPLO surgery performed on our French Bulldog. When I initially met with the surgeon, Dr. Chris Hagen, in Winnipeg, I learned that he performs surgeries at various veterinary clinics throughout Manitoba. We chose to make the trip to Beausejour because our emails and inquiries back and forth with this hospital were answered in a timely manner and included a lot of information that put our minds at ease. The surgery was also $1000-$1300 less expensive at Beausejour, with the same surgeon.
I was very nervous the day I took Otis in for his surgery, but left feeling way more at ease after meeting the lovely staff. From the reception desk, to the veterinary tech who sat with us, to the veterinarian who came in and did the pre-op chat, they were all wonderful. One of the staff could see I was anxious and promised to go pat Otis and show him some love on her afternoon break.
The follow-up care was also wonderful; we had a few questions afterwards and they helped us out.
I wish we lived closer; we’d make Beausejour Animal Hospital our primary for veterinary care!

What an amazing staff. Had to race my dog in from the cabin, on a stat when everyone is closed of course. Dr. Brittney Derksen and a tech were waiting for me. My dog had a quick x-ray to confirm and she was quickly prepped for surgery. When a second tech couldn't make it fast enough another vet came in to assist!
It was a bad GDV, but surgery went quickly and smoothly. A week later I am sitting here on the couch with her by my side, snoring comfortably. I credit her quick recovery to their wonderful work.
All the staff are friendly, professional and very caring.

For me, this location has been taking care of our new found kitten, "Churchill". From his first series of vaccinations to his latest 'procedure', (he's neutered now), the staff here have been nothing short of professional, friendly, kind, and all the other descriptive words that represent overall kindness.
When Churchill visits this location, his demeanor tells me that this highly rated review is valid. So, don't just take my word.

The friendliest staff, Dr. Mackenzie is amazing. The clinic is kept very clean. Great variety of supplies in the front. Everyone made my pup so comfortable for his first visit.

This is the best vet clinic. They are so caring and professional. They truly care about your pets. Nadine and the staff went above and beyond to help me with my sick dog and I truly appreciate all of their care and assistance.

Oct 27/22 our littles vet called us and we were able to get medication for her within an hour after getting home and get cough was different.
Her history is, her trachea was collapsing back in June I believe and had an infection. Has had many medications to help her and she's still sneezing and coughing, she recently had dental surgery and did very well, but now a bronchitis type horse/squeaky cough today.

Excellent service. Our young dog suffered a broken leg in a road accident. They were very helpful in checking him out, Xrays etc.even though the surgery had to be scheduled elsewhere.

Went in with our sad and face-cut St Bernard Lola. They treated her like gold even though she was whiny and snarly and fixed her up (4 staples in her face, poor thing) without the least of difficulties. Absolute professionals all.

Had nothing but wonderful care. Haven’t met anyone there that wasn’t great to deal with on all levels. Please keep up the good work.

I'll never pay their inflated prices again. Tried to steal my dog in cahoots with local animal rescue that is willing to partake in on reserve dog shoots.
Refuse to address my concerns because they know after being a long time (15years) customer, I know for them it's all about the money. Their compassion for animals is only as deep as your wallet. Strongly suggest transcona or steinbach instead.

Wonderful service and very compassionate techs. My Dane was fearful of being taken to the back, the tech sat on the floor with her until they made friends and then she was happy to go to the back with her. A little extra care goes a long way
Generally very quick with being able to schedule appointments.

I left a message with the receptionist that my dog was lost. I got a phone call 5 minutes later saying that someone turned in my dog. Nice clean place

They saved our cats life! We contacted Beausejour Animal Hospital for an emergency situation with our cat. Our Cat was a new patient, but they were kind enough to still squeeze him in on a busy day. The Veterinarians and support staff were very respectful, knowledable and transparent about pricing. After a diagnosis of a severe infection are cat ended up staying 3 night while on antibiotics and fluids. We felt our kitty was in good hands and we were contacted twice a day with status updates as things progressed. Overall very happy with the service we recieved and we highly recommend this place.

All staff were so friendly and gave our puppy so much attention and snuggles, our vet was very informative.

Unfortunately you guys had to help us make sudden and emergent end of life decisions to keep our dog of 14 years comfortable and pass with dignity. When we left my wife said, "It helped so much that they were so kind".

I’m so thankful for the team at Beasejour Animal Hospital. They were able to see my dog Oliver even though we didn’t have an appointment. His has pretty bad vet anxiety and they did an amazing job. VERY thankful for them making time to see Oliver and go above and beyond ️

My three cats have all been examined by Dr. Brittney. She has made them feel comfortable and relaxed during their examination! Dr. Brittney provided very professional and useful advice. I highly recommend an trust my cats with her any day!

Today I took my German Shepherd there for the first time. Dr. A and the staff were excellent. Dr. A was professional, informative and was not pushy at all with services or trying to sell products. I found him to be caring and very personable. He was gentle with my dog and im glad to have him as our vet. Excellent over all service.

What a great experience! Everything was explained to me. Dog was handled well, and he's not easy to handle!

They have yet to to send me e mail on cost to come for home visit after 2 weeks. So it is hard to even comment! Staff seemed nice, but nothing has been done, sooo, you know what can I say.

They always give top notch care. With our Goldens we feel like we truly contribute to the new clinic.

The staff were very helpful, caring and considerate. The Dr.explained what was wrong and what they needed to do. They gave estimates of various degrees of care. I would go back.

Great staff, took care of my spirit of hope rescue, they only let you go to certain vets and i wasnt going to be going to plessis. Although i got charged extra to have a hydration drip going during spay. Not sure if thats common but when it comes to keeping your patient hydrated that should kind of be part of the package. Everything went smooth and she healed up nicely even though shes a maniac.

This is my favorite vet in all of Manitoba. They have vets for pets and farm animals and wild animals. The staff is also the best staff I have ever seen at a veterinarian. So friendly and helpful.
They recently, in the last few years, renovated, and it just doesn't have that old country vet feel anymore like it used too. I have seen a different vet, everytime, the last 6 times we have been there, so you wont get to know any vets and they won't get to know your pet. That part of it is now gone. That's unfortunate. Prices are so much higher now then they were a few years ago, it doesnt pay to drive to beausejour if your from the city like it used too either!

They were so kind and loving to our boys. Very helpful, my dogs are anxious and exited and they peed and pooped everywhere. No one made me feel bad and they cleaned it all up for us. Very thorough in their examination of both dogs. Overall very impressed and will be going back for sure!

I had a great first experience with Beausejour Animal hospital. The team is tight, and seem genuinely happy to help you and your pet Dr. Atkinson is smart, effective and charming (Sophie has never been so at ease with a vet) Fair price for the work done as well.

Everyone was so caring. They did exactly what i needed doing and also checked my baby out thourghly. Finding things that i should know for future visits.

Customer for years, i work with several rescues, but they are unwilling to work with me. Other vets more than willing to have my business.

Can’t say enough great things about all the staff at Beausejour Animal Hospital. We are a family of many doggies (Winchester, Piqati and the late Yeti). Our pups actually get excited when we say “vet”. They love their friends in Beausejour!

Clean establishment, very friendly staff. Seemed interested in my pets not just running them through for money which is unfortunately the case with some places.

The staff here are amazing! I've been a client for 10+ years and they've never let me down. Very up to date knowledge and a beautiful facility!

They have done a great job with my new girl Delta we rescued her about 7 weeks ago with bad skin problems that never got treated and they have quickly helped get her back to shape with the proper treatments cost is fair and service has been great. Delta doesn't mind going either!

Our dog was sick on the Thanks Giving weekend. We couldn't find any emergency clinics that weekend. Thankfully Beausejour Clinic had an emergency vet on call. Dr. Atkinson was a knowledgeable, kind and compassionate Doctor. He took all time needed to treat our dog. The clinic has a full lab, ultra sound and x-ray equipment available for emergency use. Dr. Atkinson called several days later to make sure she was recovering. Even though I am not from the area, it would be worth the 150 km drive to get the kind of care we received there.

I've been a pet owner my whole life and can say this is the best vet I've dealt with. Warm, compassionate, straightforward, down-to-earth. From the front desk staff to the techs and vets who are hands-on with the animals, everyone here is someone I trust completely. Amazing after hours services for emergencies. Reasonable prices. I couldn't recommend these humans highly enough!

Excellent people and alwy very helpful. To the point when it comes to our pets health and don't try to up-sell you on products you don't need.

Upsell by one of the vets.if you dont bring your dog back within 3 days will have to charge you another examination fee
