Our cat Natasha recently passed away. I would like to thank Birchwood for all of her wonderful care over the years. They were able to give her an excellent quality of life in her last couple of years with her arthritis issues. The staff is the best in the city. I was very impressed with the hand written condolence card sent to us after they learned of Natasha’s passing. Birchwood is my first choice for a veterinarian hospital for any future pets.

I have taken both my animals to Birchwood and they were treated like the little humans that they are.lol

Dr. Preston has been looking after my cat ever since he was born. She is always a welcoming and really caring person. I always feel like she is treating my cat as her own. I really appreciate her care and hope to be continued

A visit to Birchwood is a very pleasant experience. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Appointments are on time and vets show interest in the animal and are interested in life at home too. All questions are answered thoughtfully.

Birchwood animal hospital was wonderful to my dog Toby. He needed immediate care and they were booked. They gave me the option of dropping him off and a vet would take care of him in between appointments. Toby got the help he needed and I got a call from the doctor with all the details of what she did for him. When I picked him up he was calm, happy and not in pain. I definitely recommend taking your animals here.

My mom brought her dog there to have 3 teeth removed they charged her 900 when they quoted 500 terrible please everyone read this never ever ever go here this place awful and over charges so mad

The staff and doctors have always been kind, compassionate and helpful. I’ve been taking my pets there for well over two decades and I have never had an issue. They’re great!

Great Vet, I was just there for the 1st time with our 3 dogs. From booking my appointment till the end the staff was great. The Dr took his time with me and the dogs, explained everything and gave me options. I went in with less than complete medical records for the dogs and they figured everything out. They are very accommodating and patient. By far they are the top vet I have ever visited and very reasonable pricing.

I have always found the staff at Birchwood to be friendly, knowledgable, professional and above all caring in their attitude towards the animals and the people who come there. The doctors really know their stuff and explain things to you in plain English and let you participate in your pets plan of action. I think they are the best animal hospital in the province and would recommend them to anyone.

Birchwood Animal Hospital is the only group of vets I trust. And I went and met 4 different well rated ones before I chose a permanent one. Nothing compared to the help and service/support offered by the Vets at birchwood. I have a French bulldog, whom has had a variety of issues. And the last visit I had I was panicking about my frenchie and what was happening. The Dr was like the opposite of a human Dr in that he was ready and wanting to help with any and all problems I was having. God bless him. Simply, customer service is becoming a lost art.

The staff and doctors at Birchwood are fantastic. My dogs and I have been visiting Birchwood, and Dr. Preston for over 17 years. They truly care about pets and their people.

Dr. Preston is super nice and friendly! Love that you’re in the room with your puppy while doing the vaccine shots. Urinalysis result is fast. Was told it would be 24-48hrs but they called for the result just 2hrs after I gave them puppys urine sample.

Very friendly staff and reasonably priced services! You can tell that the staff love working with animals the moment you walk in! They are friendly, professional and work well to match the available options to you and your pet's needs. They also foster a relationship so that your pet doesn't just associate a veterinarian visit with stress. I fully recommend!

The team at Birchwood Animal Hospital are absolute rockstars! I was extremely nervous about flighting my dog from the community I live in Nunavut all the way down to Winnipeg alone when he fell ill. The entire staff kept me constantly informed, sent pictures of my dog, was clear about what 'next steps' will be taken, answered all my questions and found a kennel for my dog to stay over the weekend as I have no friends and family in Winnipeg. They were so helpful. In the process of adopting a puppy I needed to have a vet secured to help when we got the puppy. 4 vets said we have a waiting list and cannot help you. When I talked to Cheryl there she said no problem let's set you up, and then when you need our help we are here. I called back again to say we have gotten the puppy and they asked for the particulars and said please send us his info from the vets the adoption agency uses and we can make sure to do everything. They were so helpful and understood my frustration of the process. Thank you so much and I look forward to bringing my puppy there for his needs.

Dr. Robertson has been my vet for many years with my pets. Very compassionate and caring to myself and my pets. The staff are great and reception lady's are always welcoming patrons when they come in.

Excellent service. Made me feel very comfortable leaving my pup there for a small surgical procedure. All staff is very friendly and you can really trust they are caring well for your pet.

Very friendly staff. Talk to the dog not just the owners. Very busy but managed it by speaking to everyone letting them know they would be right with them. Our dog loves going here.

I have always had a positive experience at Birchwood. Staff are friendly, and my Shih tzu’s Doctor is attentive, takes her time with us and makes sure we are informed. Has gone above and beyond For our previous Shih Tzu.
With the changes now with Covid, they are doing everything possible for the safety of our pets as well as ourselves and themselves.

Birchwood has now completed two dental surgeries for my cats in the last month. They are healing up well:) Birchwood has been good to us!

I went to see Dr Jillian Preston, hopeless as I was told by my (now former) vet that my sweet boy Brannigan (an FIV positive 11 years old rescued cat) had 3 months to live. She didn't give up on him, neither told me that it will be 100% ok. But, she showed such kindness and vast knowledge that I am overwhelmed with gratitude. And we are fighting it! Super reasonable prices, you feel really like a patient and not a client. They will be from now the vet of my pets.

I loved it staff very friendly dr.hanna awesome took her time with my little boy jimmy he's a very shy puppy she brought out some liver treats he loved them.also vet techs awesome for holding my boy to get him social and did awesome job clipping his nails can't wait to see u soon?

We've been taking both our dogs here for over a year. The Vets and Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Vets are very knowledgeable. One time we had to get one of our dogs dental surgery, and the Vets there were very understanding and forth coming with information about our options and info related to the procedure. We will continue to use them as our dog's veterinary hospital.

Very pleased with their courteous and concerned interest in our puppy’s issue. Was impressed that the veterinarian called our home to explain the issue and the care required.

Have to acknowledge the friendliness of the office staff. To a person they greeted Stella on arrival which calms her when nervous about being in a new place. And I must admit Dr Robertson is a special type of vet. She was so focused on Stella and made such a fuss that my dog was completely relaxed during her examination. Haven't had a vet as caring as her since our last pet years ago.

I have bringing my dog and other pets I had in the past to this Hospital for over 10 years, I was satisfied with each visit until recently. I needed an up to date record for my current dog's vaccines only to find out that he was months over due for multiple shots and a physical examination, most animal Hospitals send emails/mail as reminders for these types of things but I didn't receive anything. Due to my dog's allergies, I have been bringing him in quite frequently yet they didn't bother to tell me about the over due vaccines during that time either. The receptionist claims my email was on file but didn't let me know what email was showing on the file, nor did I get any calls or letters in the mail for this matter. This lack of communication is very upsetting. As all pet owners do, I worry about and love my dog very deeply. I will be taking my dog else where for medical attention in hopes that the next animal Hospital will actually care and do their job correctly.

Keeping in mind when I wrote this, it was 1.5 years into pandemic Covid-19 response. They took every precaution to keep us and our pets safe. They provided optimal care for my sick pups, ranging from tooth extraction (providing a detailed estimate which came in lower), a yeast infection in my big dogs ear, and a bacterial infection in my smaller dogs ear, and GI infection. They always fit me in when my dogs needed them. They even let me use the bathroom every time, and as a current cancer (in treatment) patient, I was very grateful. Because of this, I made it home every time with no personal accidents. Thank you. I appreciate all your kindness and thoughtfulness and current knowledge of veterinary care.

I found the service to be helpful and the staff friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I particularly found the physical space to be welcoming and clean, without the odor that can sometimes be present at animal hospitals.

The people here are absolutely incredible with your pet. They took in my kitty for the night and did not charge me for the hospital stay. My kitty was peeing and dripping blood everywhere and the next day when I came to take him home it was like he was never sick. They were flexible about my schedule and let me pick up my cat a bit later than originally agreed on because I didn't want to take my cat on the bus and that was the only time I can get a ride. I very much appreciate their patience and understanding. They took all my concerns into consideration and didn't talk down to me. They answered all my questions clearly and respectfully. Dr. Robertson and Dr. Boyd and the girl with the purple hair are awesome. Purple hair girl with amazing to talk to and I wish I'd gotten her name because she is really awesome and kind to both owner and pet. Dr. Robertson was incredibly patient with me and answered all of my questions which I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I don't think I actually met Dr. Boyd but I know s/he worked on my kitty too and together everyone did a good job of making kitty better. This is definitely going to be my go-to place from now on whenever I need the vet. These people really care about your pet and I did not find the cost unreasonable. I am very grateful for veterinary care like this especially because pet owners are not allowed in the back to be with their pet due to COVID. My kitty was totally safe in their hands and I appreciate the people here so much. Definitely recommend. The kindness and effort of these veterinarians towards my sick and terrified kitty have not gone unnoticed. Thank you for making Georgie better.

Update:
His sickness came back and I didn't know what to do due to the high cost. They offered to let me surrender him to them so that they could give him better chance since WHS requires an appointment to surrender and are more likely to euthanize because they have a higher amount of animals in their care. I am very grateful that they offered me this service. I am very sad to see Georgie go. I hope that they can help him and I thank them for taking him in. This is an amazing vet clinic. They really go above and beyond for their clients both human and animal. Thank you so much and I wish Georgie all the best.

Our cats' family doctor is Dr. Stacey Hannah. She is really, really amazing! On our every visit, she always show a lot of love to our cats. We live near St Norbert in South Winnipeg, which is far from Birchwood Animal Hospital, but we still make the trip to Birchwood for veterinary care for our cats because of Dr. Hannah. I've never seen a vet that shows love and care towards our cats as Dr. Hannah does. When Dr. Hannah wasn't available, we also had the privilege to work with other veterinarians at Birchwood. One particular vet helps Mittens with her pain last November/ December and that truly means a lot to us. Our cats are our kids. With the people at Birchwood taking such good care of our cats means the world to us. Thank you everyone!

Have been clients there for 3 dogs. Everything from checkups to surgeries to end of life issues and have always found ther service caring, competent and friendly.

Birnchwood vet is the best. They fitted me in when I didn’t have an appointment. I didn’t have to wait long for the vet to tell me what was wrong with my cat. We went over the treatment together.
They even followed up the next day with a phone call to see how Elf was doing.
I will continue to bring both my cats there because I trust them to get the best care.

We receive excellent care for our dog, Rascal, at Birchwood Animal Hospital. He has not been well and we have been able to get him in to be cared for the day that we called. The vets have been very caring and compassionate.

Exceptional veterinary care, outstanding service and accommodating hours. For emergencies, routine and day to day pet needs the staff, techs and doctors at Birchwood Vet continue to exceed my expectations. Several friends and colleagues who take their pets there express the same sentiment. I'd be hard pressed to find a reason to take my
fur babies elsewhere!

I've received numerous after-hour emails from the Doctors at the clinic following up on the health of our pet - really unbelievable. The after hours touch is almost shocking when it happens - so odd in this day and age - just incredible. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

First time taking my animal here, had a very pleasant experience, not only are they very friendly but they go above and beyond for your animal and the service they provide. They are happy to answer any questions you have even after they have seen your pet. Will sure be taking my other cats here.

Seems like the staff here are genuine animal lovers, they never try to get you to buy stuff you don’t need, and all my pets that have ever gotten help here have lived long and healthy.

The best vet clinic I have ever been to in Winnipeg. They treat you and your pet with respect and professionalism. They have the equipment to help all sizes of pets. Yes, the cost is high but you do get what you pay for! I like the 24 hour care and will pay the bill anyday. Thank you I just wish I lived closer to them.

I was very thankful that I was able to get “Tesla” seen the same morning I called. I was super grateful to the front staff and specifically the nurse (Mark) that was working on Saturday that helped me with my questions and concerns. My dog just went through oral surgery at Birchwood Animal Hospital. I was informed of all costs, up front, depending on extent of surgery, so no hidden surprises. Staff made sure I was understanding of all follow up medications and procedures I would have to follow, post surgery. The doctors and staff have always treated my dogs with the best care and kindness and I would always recommend this facility to other pet owners.
