This is one of the most amazing and beautiful trails near Winnipeg. Perfect to visit with children.

First hike with our young son. He enjoyed it, great trail for toddlers. A unique complex ecosystem along this trail

Visited shortly after 8am on a day in September. Only person on the trail. Very serene and gorgeous fall colours everywhere! Enjoyed reading some history about area and vegetation. Will be back in the spring when more flowers are in bloom.

Very beautiful trail, the kids love it. Great for strollers and wheelchair accessible. Mosquitoes are terrible here so bug spray is essential. No pets on the trail.

Really nice and easy (short; 20 mins there and 20 mins back strolling) trail on boardwalk. Nice mix of eco zones and trees. Especially nice seeing the white cedars. Spent a couple of hours walking and having lunch under the covered picnic area. Good washroom facilities as well.

Lovely trail, beautiful and easy family and wheelchair friendly. Bathrooms were clean and a picnic area is available. I wish the signage for the trail was a little bit bigger as is easy to pass by on your way to Grand Beach.

Short, and sweet. Bring bug spray and be prepared to take your time and marvel at the orchids in season.

Very easy, accessible trail. Took me about an hour to complete the walk, including time to stop to read the signs.

Totally boardwalk hike so easy for taking a stroller and kids. Beautiful peaceful hike. Only did 4 because Supposed to be wheel chair accessible but at the beginning of the hike the barrier for vehicles looks too narrow for some chairs.

The no dogs allowed sign should also be at the entrance of the parking lot as I’ve seen people get their family out of the vehicle walk to the entrance of the hike and have to turn around because dogs are not allowed. Would be nice to notify them before they unload their vehicle.

Went early in the morning in July just after 8am.
It's a beautifully scenic trail, thoroughly enjoyed seeing the plant life, features a well maintained boardwalk.the only drawback to fully enjoying the experience is that you MUST wear extra strength bug repellent and even then it might not save you! This was the mosquito epicenter

A beautiful place, let's keep it that way. If you visit please don't litter, or carve your name in the hundred year old trees.

Beautiful boardwalk trail not too far outside the city with interactive readings. You will find many many different species of plants along the walk with all the information you need about them. It really is Beautiful!

This is Brokenhead Ojibway Nation’s wetland. This is a great place to learn why this land and their ancestral land is vital for the community!

Easy in and out trail that consists mainly of the boardwalk, shaded by cedar trees and a few sit down areas along the way.

What a fantastic trail. This is an absolute great pleasure to have in Manitoba. It is quiet, serene, beautiful, informative and interesting. This is the kind of place that will change with the seasons. So you can return weeks apart and everything will be different. I highly recommend this trail.
Bathrooms at the entrance and a brand new picnic area protected from the rain.

A very easy trail detour to do on the way to Grand Beach from Winnipeg. Our family walked and stopped to read signs and admired nature from the boardwalk within 48 minutes. As others reviewed anyone with limited mobility can partake in this unique trail through the wetlands. There are shaded areas as well as open prairie areas to take in. There is plenty of parking and an outdoor washroom available. No dogs allowed and don't litter and don't pick the flowers. Enjoy

Beautiful wetland interpretative trail with well maintained boardwalk. This trail is easy enough for all abilities to complete. Lots of signage to teach you about the environments, common plants, and how they were used by the native people. Dogs are not permitted on this trail. Can get really buggy during mosquito season.

Around 45 mins of walk with so many species of flowers to observe, Path is mostly made out of wooden planks and well traced, ideal for a family trip and fun for kids, various benches to sit down and witness the wilderness of being alone. Maintained and preserved by Ojibwe first nation. Please follow rules and regulations and do not litter the place.

An easy trail - the boardwalk makes it a breeze. And speaking of breezes. This is a high mosquito area, but since it was windy, the bugs weren't really present today.

There are some excellent informational signs along the way, and we got to see lots of interesting flowers (especially Ladies Slippers and the carnivorous Pitcher plants!).

From Winnipeg herd about this from Tik Tok. About an hour from Winnipeg but worth the drive. Trail is not long approx 2.5 km round trip and primarily a wooden walkway. Absolutely no bugs and had fun info plaques along the way.

A short drive up 59 hwy north from Winnipeg. First time going and it was worth the drive. Very nice walk through a forest and grasslands. Very well done! Definitely would recommend it to anyone. Ps don't bring your dogs as they are not allowed on the trail.

Nice trail, easy to walk but I wish it was about x4 longer, it's about 35 minute drive from the city to walk a 30 minute trail.

And there's probably a lot of mosquitoes here typically, but since there's a drought, it wasn't bad at all.

Absolutely gorgeous trail and so informative with the importance and the significance of the land. Remember, no dogs allowed! Not even on leashes.

First time in this interpretative trail. For a newer trail, it was perfect for families and children. Will visit again in other seasons.

This is such a gorgeous trail. Super easy, and the boardwalk makes it wheel chair friendly. I have never been on a trail that smelled so amazing. This is also a wonderful trail if you like to read about wildlife. If you are driving by it is worth the stop!

I’ve passed this trail so many times driving on the #59. Finally gave it a try on a Friday afternoon where we had the whole place to ourselves. Lots of parking, picnic tables, washrooms, and garbage/recycling. I’ve never seen a fully accessible trail before, but this was it! Great place for kids, strollers, or people with mobility issues. Flat surface the whole way, as the majority is boardwalk. I was surprised to find ourselves in a white cedar forest; I’ve never seen so many cedars all together like that. The smell of the cedar, aspen, and pine on a cool fall day was heavenly. Although no orchids this time of year, the pitcher plants fascinated me!

Probably not worth the drive from winnipeg if this is all your coming for. Good walk, well signed with good info and its beautiful. But its a bit short for a single attraction.

This is a great little walk. Very beautiful and informative. Dog owners should note that dogs are not allowed. Most people we saw were sadly not paying attention to that rule, which I find very disrespectful considering this site is offered free to use.

Nice little boardwalk that goes through different landscapes. Great for families and little ones. Short walk. Look for the tiny animals like snails and frogs.
22 September 2019 11:21
A very well maintained boardwalk trail through a beautiful park. We saw pitcher plants and many different orchids

Bring bug spray. Nice walk our and back. Benches here and there. Some parts have lots of shade and some full sun. We came today to see the wild orchids. Please stay on the trail. If not you'll most likely crush flowers. Outhouses were clean.

Great place to come and get some flower shots, bring a long lens or a long pole for your camera to be respectful. That's what I did.
