The doors were not very sound proof so you could hear all of noise from the halls.

The doors themselves are super thick and I suspect it was the large air gaps at the bottom and around the door frame that let all the noise in. So it should be relatively easy to fix if they put the money and effort in.

They have signs to be quiet in the halls between 2200-0700 but certainly it was the least soundproof hotel room I have ever been in.

I was there for a seminar, and the buffet lunch was quite good. Fresh fruits, vegetables, entrees, and of course dessert

What a DUMP!

I was so disappointed.

The rooms are old and run down. The hallway wreaked of pee. This did not feel like an upscale hotel but rather a rooming house. The hallways were so noisy and sleep was hard to come by. Everything felt old and dirty.

The pool was not well maintained and there were dirty towels, beverage cups and dirty bandaids littering the floor in the pool area. The chlorine smell was so strong that our eyes burned even though we did not swim and we were supervising children.

I can’t wait to check out tomorrow. Such a gross feeling here.

Recommend staying elsewhere.

The hotel is in a good place, central to a lot of things. Prices seem reasonable. The rooms are old and outdated, a little dirty (nothing to complain about about). The rooms are crazy humid even with the act running. Overall it seems like the staff is doing their best to keep a hotel going that the owners aren't willing to spend money on.

It's okay during the day.

I came here for a conference and found this hotel really good. The best part is their friendly and courteous staff (Room service and front desk). The food at Tavern was awesome and pricing was really good.

The hotel is not good, but excellent in all matters, from the location to the service and rooms. Anyone can say what they want, but in my opinion it is one of the best hotels in Winnipeg. The rooms here are always clean because they are intensively cleaned. There is a restaurant and a disco as well as a swimming pool where you can swim with children! For visitors, it's just a Klondike. Wonderful and polite staff and always friendly.

If you stay here make sure you bring extra blankets. The whole hotel is so cold. The staff I dealt with was very rude. The beds felt like was sleeping on cement. Walls are very thin could hear all the notices even alarms from next room

This dump is FILTHY! Elevator was SLOW! Ice machine tipped over and i’m STILL PINNED BENEATH IT!

Staff was great, happy to help with inquiries. I did not find the room very clean. Dust bunnies on the ceiling, I get it there is a texture ceiling but it was the first thing I saw. Don't drop anything and see the plumbing under the sink as its covered too. And someone elses hair on the floor. I was quite disgusted. Food was good, morning coffee was expensive and gross. However I did love all the extras in the bathroom. ‍️

Terrible customer service. If you are doing large group bookings.look elsewhere. After booking a room for supper management yelled at us for bringing outside food. Yet their restaurant is closed. No accommodations after spending thousands of dollars. Will never come back.

Wish i could give no or negative stars for this place.beds were uncomfortable, housekeeping didn't do their jobs at all, the entire place looked like a nightmare from 1991.not to mention the staff was incredibly rude (and racist, as we are indigenous) the entire experience just sucked.the pool wasn't open and it's $20 for a mediocre meal.they also didn't allow us to eat our food in the hotel- they told us to order from aalto's (the hotel's restaurant) even though they were closed and wouldn't allow us to eat the food we bought.we literally had to go hide to be able to eat our food.never again lol

This stay was pretty disappointing. The hotel is clearly quite old. We were just looking for something comfortable and affordable so we booked here having pretty low expectations. However, the toilet was not properly secured so it would move every time you sat on it, the towel rack was falling off the wall and the doors and walls were so thin you could hear everything going on in other peoples rooms.
The one thing I will say is that the beds were comfortable and quiet hours were in place. We were just disappointed by the lack of basic maintenance

Had a pretty good stay, the rooms are nice and so is the staff. We only stayed one day. My only complaint is that there supposed to be a quiet time between 11pm and 7 or 8 am, and there was a lot of noise up until 1: 30 and then again at 6: 30am. Pretty sure it wasn’t just guests making the noise, especially at 6am. Didn’t bother to call and complain or look outside the door because of tiredness.

Beauts, Gems, Beuno! Great security who care for their patrons and diligently help to make sure your safe and good. The service gives a restaurant and good positive staff who treat indigenous people with dignity and respect their elders. This place is a great place to stay. Definitely my go to for hotels from now on! Good job Canad Inns. A real diamond in the rough.

It was good but check in was slow even when my Dad said he would pay and he let them know he normally gets better service. The first woman got on the phone to the manager and then forgot about me! Another woman asked if she could help me. She was much better. Also the elevator was broken on Friday and only 2 at a time so I found that quite annoying.

Easy check in, lady was friendly. We got to our room and there was a used q-tip in the garbage can. And hair in the tub. Beds were comfy and rooms were ok. Booked here for the pool to get there and find out the pool is still closed. When I got the email to express checkout in the morning they had charged me extra for an adult which was incorrect. It was an easy fix when I went to the front desk. Overall they can work on some things, and should have a notice before booking about the pool. But if you're looking for an ok place to lay your head it's good for that.

Went with a group of friends and there were 5 of us in 3 rooms paid 180$ for a very outdated room with a broken fridge and a very uncomfortable bed and had a sleepless night. Our friends paid 150$ for the king suite with a jacuzzi tub, a sitting area with a fire place and 2 TVs literally just across from our room. The next morning the friends with the suite called front desk and asked for a late checkout for their room and they said yes. My room called and asked for a late checkout a few minutes after and got denied. The pool was closed while we were there. Very disappointed in the price of 180$ for a hotel room with nothing special about it I would understand the price if the pool was at least open. I looked online before booking and the price for the king bed was 130$. Definitely regret spending my money at this hotel. The food at the Tavern wasn’t to good but the waitress we had was very friendly. She was the only good thing about this hotel.

Showed up to check in and it took forever, I got the room with the jacuzzi but the hotel failed to inform me it wasn't available due to maintenance. So they put me in a normal room when I paid a premium price for a better room. No apology, no cares from the front desk staff, apparently the hotel was booked solid even though there are rooms available online. The icing on the cake was when I got off on the wrong floor, which happened to be a covid-19 quarantine floor (hotel staff failed to inform me there were patiences at the hotel) and came face to face with someone with covid-19. That same person was actively going in and out of the hotel for smoke breaks too, hotel staff didn't care but they did apparently inform the manager.

I normally don't ever give harsh reviews but I would stay away this hotel due to logistical issues through and through. Not a good time

My now fiancée set up with Eric (restaurant manager) a whole elaborate proposal with all our family there spread out even with everything with covid. It was so magical! The owner was incredible with making our stay amazing! Our room was fantastic as well! All the staff went above and beyond! Definitely recommend and will be return for celebratory events!

The rooms although are clean they are really getting dated. Due to Covid restrictions you come to a counter where they explain restrictions and ask questions and fill in papers. That girl was rude and snappy. I get it but you’re in the hospitality business, a costumer needs to be treated with pleasantness. I did tell her she needed to speak nicer.
Now lady at the desk was pleasant and informative, I told her about the encounter. Nice to see paper printouts for pub menus as everything was closed (restaurant) in the hotel.

Nice place to stay, reasonable rates. Our room was clean and well maintained. The TV wouldn't work at first but a call to the front desk and maintenance was sent up to fix the problem. Good location with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby.

Horrible hotel stay. Worst i have had. Errors during check in, and check out and everything in between. Bad experience in almost every aspect possible for a hotel stay. Was double charged for my visit and had to argue to get my money reimbursed (still paid the original price in the end of course) and was offered no discount or credit/gift card or even an apology!

I have patronized many hotels from this chain and they always seem to be a bit of a zoo.
I will avoid this place/chain in the future.

Really nice reception and convention area. Plenty of rooms. Food was okay and restaurant seemed a little dingy for a professional conference, but all the other rooms were great.

Terrible stay, there were noisy rooms on my floor, room was hot and AC didn't overly work. Most of the power plugs in the room were damaged or didn't work. The plug behind the bed kept shorting, there was very little hot water and the water pressure was extremely weak. For a executive king suite.it was an absolute joke. Asked for a late check out and was told no. The whole hotel stunk like fish, we literally couldn't eat at Altos due to the terrible smell, even though that is what we really wanted. We went to the tavern, and everything about our order was wrong. The pool was extremely cold, and the pool area was way too loud and too busy. I have stayed at other Canadinns for work, but this hotel was absolutely terrible.due to the poor stay and obviously outdated and under maintained hotel, I will only being staying at a canadinns as a last resort. Even then, if there are other options, I will be taking those.

Room are average. Maintenance needed to come fix the sink. Someone's dirty underwear is in the closet. No Kleenex in room. Restaurant was excellent. Good service.

Did a photobooth event and received great help and customer service from Amed. If you need help contact him, he will help right away and if he doesn't have an answer he will get one for you right away!

Hotel is great but I was very disappointed when I tried using the pay phone here to find out it costs me 5.15$ a minute is this normal in Winnipeg? Hotel doesn’t offer long distance calling only needed to call my moms cell we’re from Brandon guess that is long distance ‍️

Great facility, there is everything under one roof. Rooms are very comfortable. Restaurant is great.

Clean rooms, nice pool for kids, and central to shopping and restaurants. Also close to the Assiniboine Zoo.

I attended a conference at this location. Adequate space, comfortable and warm during cold winter months. Great service and food.

2018. Update.

Went for HAAM meeting, the service was horrid. They automatically added a gratuity which I would not give voluntarily. Old deserts, the buffet was average the service staff non present. Addressed the issue at till, empty apologizes no solutions.

The bathroom was spotless the interaction with hotel staff pleasant.

Another conference, this time we had no waiting staff. They disappeared.

Could not get good of the menu or drinks. Eventually captured a server and had some water brought over.

Complete failure by management.

The front desk people was very nice. The security guard from feb 23 was absolutely rude when he come to my room to drop off coffee an tea complaining that that was not his job! But other then that was a good stay.

The pool was not very clean. The halls were cold and the carpet very dirty. Room seemed nice enough but the walls were either too thin or wrong construction for what they should be. I didn't stay but spent majority of the day with family there. Elevators didn't function properly either. The door required me to force it open when it started to close on me getting in. Staff brushed it off as if it wasn't a big deal. Meanwhile it is a huge issue of a child gets caught in it.

We had a good stay here. Room was large. Bed was comfortable.

Our bedside tables were falling apart and our tub drain was plugged prior to us using it.we were quite grossed out and refrained from showering because of it.

It's ok. Honestly it's a very dated building. The room had old furniture, a hole in the wall above the bed. The TV had no HD channels and kept loosing signal. The restaurant and "casino" are alright. Pool was functional but small. We had a all day conference and froze in the room, after asking to turn up the temperature it felt colder. I wouldn't stay here again.

I was there for a professional event. We used ambassador room J. It was clean and well kept. The air conditioning was too cold, and turning the heat up a bit made the room too hot. There was no middle ground. The lunch we were served was very good.

Clean pool and waterslide. Was there for a social event and the food was good and staff seemed friendly

Great food - exceptional prime rib. Service was friendly, though meals were served a little slowly (12 people, half served their dinner a good 8 minutes before the rest). Overall, a great location for a corporate event or family meal.
