Dec 29th twenty twenty three.

Called 5 butchers for a cheap cut of beef to make jerky, inside rounds, cantors said $5.49, everyone else was $6 to $8, I drove a across the city to get some, I get there and they said the out side round was cheaper at $7 a pound. I'm frustrated at this point and buy $100 worth. I call back and they confirm 5.49, they double check and two more people come on, one checks, then the second hangs up on me saying that is not the price.what a #^#^$$$, never be back.

There liars and racist at the express on regent! Goes to show racism will NEVER end! Never shop there again!

The best place in the city for fresh meats, cut fresh or pre-packaged. Watch for the sales for even better deals, but the everyday prices are low!

I have always enjoyed shopping at Cantor's. The store is very clean, the staff are always polite and helpful and of course, I like to shop there because of the meats. Always a good experience.

I usually come here for the frozen meat packages. So very convenient and great staff. Busy place but you move through the line quicker than you would expect. They have a good selection of groceries.

I've never been there till Dec 31 2022. Quickest 5 mins of my life. I will never return and honestly have zero respect for this store. Instant and constant harassment as soon as you enter. Not worth it. Easier to leave and forget.

This is suppose to be a grocery store for the community and I don't feel welcome at all. Lots of signage that tells you they have a no bag tolerance, no one greets you, and the cashiers are robotic. Limited to what they have but at least better than a convenience store. Their reduced price items cover the expiration date. Things are overpriced. Not to mention the hours aren't convenient for people that work normal 9-5 hours.

It was pretty good shopping there, wasn't packed with people, the workers were really nice. Got everything I needed.

The only place I shop for my meats as I am never disappointed with the quality. Staff and service are great as well.

I cannot roast this store. 6.5 pound fresh top sirloin slow-cooked 18 hours on keep warm setting. Super lean. Falling apart. Amazing quality. Freshness was noticeable and delectible.

Bought a meat box with chicken, pork, and beef. Chicken and pork was fine but the beef smelled bad we had to toss it.

We have been shopping for most of our meats for the past 30 years or more, but the quality of the meat and service has gone downhill badly over the past couple of years. You can get ground beef at other places for a much cheaper price. The last 2 or 3 times we have gotten pork ribs there, and had them cut for either bbq or sweet sour, they have been very poorly cut and we are throwing out 30% as they were inedible they way they were cut-a lot of fat and gristle. We will be looking to get ribs elsewhere, probably at a cheaper price as well.

Extremely disappointed in the quality of the beef loins purchased here. Charged for a trimmed product.

I shop at Freshco on Jefferson and buy Cantors meats from there, I would buy steaks from you if they where not like fast fry. Cut way to thin. They should have at least a few steaks that are thicker for the BBQ. I end up having to go to tenderloin meats to get steaks.

Poor cashier making a mistake, used my 100 gift card to pay for 110 meat pack, I'll pay with cash for the difference I tell the cashier, just ignores me and charges me 90 on the gift card, that's how they get you I wondered but it was sorted out and I used up the whole gift card and paid the extra 10 bucks instead of having it on the gift card. I don't want to go back there with a 10 on a gift card. Cashier was whispering to head cashier in front of me, so I spoke out and stated she made an error and need it taken care of and she did. Make sure to state loudly and clearly to the cashier that you want to use the whole amount on the gift card.

Friendly and courteous staff. Quality and cost effective meats always. By my account the best bang for you buck chicken wings in the city.

Great meat counter.love the bacon. I can't shop there as often as I like and they discontinued free delivery. Very clean and always busy.that's good, everything is fresh.

If I could give it less than one star I would. We order the meat package on March 31,2021. We got the delivery on Saturday April 3,2021. When the delivery driver arrived to drop off the order I assume that he drop something because he started yelling and swearing to the point where people in the apartment building heard him swearing (very unprofessional of him). Then when he came up to our apartment he told us what happened and I was trying to cheer him up and joke with him then he started to try to pick a fight with me. Calling me names and threatening to stop by after his job and fix me up. Then I called him names after he started to threatening me. He also called me a few racial names as well. They should not be having driver like that at all.and the other Tenants also heard him calling me names and threatening me, and he continued outside our apartment building yelling at screaming at me. I would like to speak to the owner of Cantors and report what happened on April 3,2021 and when I called to complain all the lady asked me why we don't have an elevator is because this building was built in the 60's and it is a three story building.

Place went downhill since the 90's

This place used to be good, until the brothers died. Now the meat quantity has gone down hill and the hamburger is the worst, wh what happened? I get my holiday beef roast there still, they're still good.

Do not order online. Our account was charged 3 different amounts and they blamed it on the "new online system". Our bank says it's an obvious mess up and gave us the amount owed taking this route rather than verbal abuse and making up their own convenient truths. Insisted they owe us nothing then they owe us the lesser amount.completely unprofessional over the phone argued throughout the whole process.

Horrible. Ordered a Bar-b-que delivery package. The picture did not do justice. Bad cuts of meat, so horrible. Big slab of meat folded over. Frozen gross hamburger patties. So disappointed. Glad my friend took the gross hamburger patties for a future pic I with kids who don’t care.

All beef Dinner sausages where more like All Fat sausages, possibly the worst beef sausage we have ever had tried to BBQ, grill and even tried to Boil first the fry to no avail, Never again

Terrible customer service from the owner. We had a concern over prices as we ordered online according to the sale prices listed. We recieved our order and the prices we were charged were the regular prices.ie.the steak was $6.61 off/kg when we ordered it. It was delivered two days later and the regular prices was written in next to the product even though the order form listed the sale price and the savings.

My wife had spoken to the owner who kept saying he didn't have any sales and she responded that the website had a sale listed and the order form shows the sale prices as well. My wife kept trying to calmly explain the discrepancy but he kept getting louder and very agressive to the point it was upsetting her so I took over the call. I couldn't even get out one full sentence before the owner told me to F#$k Off, and hung up on me. The difference was about $15 in total. Instead of being a good business owner and at least acknowledge our frustration, he swears and hangs up on us. There is never a good reason for a business owner to treat a customer like that. I would never recommend this company. I have never recieved such terrible service from a business owner in my life.

I ordered three meat packages totaling over $500. The packages in the pictures look like a lot of meat the way they have them all laid out. It didn’t even fill a single shelf in our deep freezer. This wasn’t just steaks either, there were things like bone in chicken legs mixed in. There are some steaks and they feel like they’re cut paper thin. Did I really get the weight that was listed!

The quantity aside, the packaging on some of the items is terrible. Meat is an expensive product. When selling it already frozen it should be in butcher paper or heavy plastic. Some of the items were in butcher paper which was great. The rest was in really thin, flimsy plastic bags tied at the top. The chicken already looks freezer burned, there are huge chunks of ice in the package. I have no idea how old it is. The pork chops are all just thrown in one of these filmy bags.

The worst is the ground beef. It’s in the flimsy bags and is frozen in misshapen softball sizes lumps. There’s no good way to store them in the freezer and since it’s all frozen it can’t be repackaged. All other bulk meat orders I’ve done have had the ground beef in either flat vacuum bags or paper wrapped uniform rectangles. Either works. Lumps don’t. The thin plastic they’re packaged in means we will have to use all of it within a couple months so it won’t get freezer burned.

On top of all this they flat out lied about how I would receive the order. They said some would be fresh and some frozen. All of it was frozen. No fresh meat at all. No chance to vacuum pack anything for longer storage. Thanks, I’ll just figure out something else for dinner since it’s already the afternoon and I can’t safely thaw any of this in time to eat it tonight.

I have to say I am very disappointed that they are running a false commercial right now. They are misleading - in that they say they deliver RIGHT to your DOOR - yet they do not realize that a lot of us are not living IN the city of Winnipeg, and they are misrepresenting their business in their advertising. Sad they do not seem to realize this, and continue to mislead the Public. Who is our Target audience? Then put in the word WINNIPEG ONLY - so the rest of us understand.

I really wanted to give a higher amount of stars, the meat was great and I understand its busy due to Covid but what's happened was unacceptable. I placed an order on April 14 for a pick up, recieved an email on the 15th at 8: 30am it would be ready on the 16th and to call the store to give my payment information, which I did on April 15th. I arrived at the store on April 16th at 10: 15am and called to let them know I was here for pick up. I waited until 10: 45 when I seen vehicles that pulled up after being served. I let the guy know who was putting the meats in the back of the trunk I was still waiting, he said they couldn't find my paperwork and were still looking for it.ok. I waited a bit longer and the store called me at 10: 53 saying they couldn't find the info, asking how I placed the order and when. They told me they'd check again. At 11: 08 they called again saying they couldn't find it, and I'd have to provide it again.fine, everything went well and I recieved my meats 15mins later. It's now April 21 and I just had a delivery to my door with meat. I told the driver I didnt order anything and he promptly took it back. I checked my credit card bill and lo and behold I've been charged 158.31.not even the amount I paid on April 16th. My credit card has been compromised. Please think twice before ordering online. I now have to deal with the hassle of changing my card. I really wanted to like this place.

- Called Cantors and havent heard anything back from them after they took my name and phone number. Credit card company will be filing a fraud claim in 14 days if the money isnt returned. Such a hassle for their screw up.

Called to confirm info on an online meat order. I was placed on hold. Waited 5ish minutes before someone picked up and asked me my info and placed on hold again. Waited another 5ish minutes before someone picked up and asked me my info again only to be put on hold AGAIN. Hung up and called back. Explained all this to the owner, only to be placed on hold again. When the owner came back to the call, I explained my frustration only to be told “maybe I should try somewhere else”. So I am. $300+ dollar meat order.

Wow cantors looks like they are being racist, their recent news report has them threatening people with bats and accusing everyone of being a thief’s. This store is one to be avoided, I know thefts are on the rise however taking it out on every is a mistake. You lost a long time customer in me and I am forwarding my concerns to all my friends and family.

Great place to go for your meat & you can taste the quality! The Cantors Express in FreshCo is also convenient for people in the North End of the city/Transcona area & In addition they have knowledgeable and friendly staff!

I recommend coming on a weekday. This place can be a real zoo on Saturday. Worth it. Great cuts of meat a d you can find deals in the grocery aisle.

Solid for meat purchases, buying whatever meat is on sale for that week and making dinners accordingly is a good way to save while having a diverse meal plan. Packaged goods feel a tiny bit overpriced and the hours aren't very full time 9 - 5 worker friendly, but the meat quality and price makes up for it. Their points card wasn't very well explained to me, so I'm still not sure what 60000 points equals in savings.

I'd recommend looking at the flyer and popping by to pick up fairly priced, quality meats. I'm inexperienced when it comes to their meat packages, but I've heard great things about them.

We used to drive across town to buy all of our meat from here, but, since they expanded, they have less deals and the prices aren't as good. We check the flyers every week but have not gone in a long time; it is no longer worth the trip.

Quality meats and their online order and delivery makes shopping easy and convenient even when you can’t get to the actual store.

First time visit. The store was very clean. Stock well displayed. Prices a little higher than other larger chains but had some decent sale items. Everything was well tagged and displayed. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. It was her first day at work

Cantor's is famous for their fresh meat counter. Good selection and their "own" bacon, garlic sausage, sausages are delicious. They carry local food like Manitoba Sausage deli meats and Bothwell cheeses.
