#Nostalgia. Post COVID it was tough to do buffets again, but this place has some of the best Indian food in Winnipeg. I like it.

Food was excellent
Service was exceptional
The restaurant needs a thorough scrubbing and I saw a mouse in the washroom.

Came here with my girlfriend. This place is a hidden gem! That’s so spacious and is tasteful decorated with Indian paintings and decos. The food is delicious and big serving. The staff is so friendly. We are very impressed and will definitely come again

I came here for the first time with a friend on my birthday. It looked like the server was about to do something but immediately stopped to warmly greet us when we came in. We sat we we liked and tried the buffet.
The food was delicious and very filling. Staff was friendly and non intrusive. Even the price was pocket-friendly.
I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place.

Food was okay. Family thought it was meh. They forgot $10 of order and we had no way of getting our food back. Heard good reviews about this place but honestly was left disappointed.

Unfortunately that’s how I received my box of gulab jamuns. Dry inside the box as all the syrup came out leaking by the time it got delivered. The sweets were not even soft, not enough soaked. Quite disappointed today as I previously had good food here.

WORST FOOD ever. Would not recommend this place at all. I tried their buffet, food was very STALE and very RUDE employees.

Worst place order chana samosa and naun and all got sick after eating it, when we reported it to the owner he doesn’t care about that and hang up on us, i will never recommend anyone to visit this place.

Very rude policy about towing cars. Stands outside watching for people parking there. I will never shop here.

Buffet is very overpriced and they charged us $30 per person even though on their website and inside the restaurant it said $25. Food was alright but definitely not worth the cost. If you are looking for basic food and want to get ripped off, this is the place to go.

Small portion. My butter chicken looked like a few pieces of chicken in a small bowl of soup. Asked for spicy but it was very plain. Not worth nearly $20.

I always love eating food from Charisma. The buffet is hot and fresh and always has everybody's favourite dishes, they have clear labels for vegetarian and vegan foods.
Other dishes/platters from the menu are also great for multiple people who only want specific types of food.
I think Charisma might have the best gulab jamun in Winnipeg.

Very çlean and laid out with lots of space. The buffet is an excellent way to try out their delicious food. Accomm children not quite ready to try something new.

First time actually coming for the buffet. I have order from skip many times thought I'd come for a buffet today. I have to admit soon as I walked in my first impression was wow gorgeous inside very fancy. My impressions of the staff are fabulous. They are super kind I get a wonderful family vibe from this place I thought the staff where so caring and sweet. The food is abselutely delecious my all time favorite food always is of course Palak panner it is my go to. I definitely recommend coming here the dessert are very nice tasting. The beer I had Taj Indian beer it is so delecious if you wanna try a beer i recommend that one it's nice and light. Will come again. Buffet is 25 dollars each plus tax. And drinks vary anywhere from 2.99 for basics and alcohol about 6.99 I'd say that's a good price. The only one sad negative thing I'd say is the chairs when you first take a seat it feels hard, but then gets comfy as you enjoy your meal so no big deal.

Service was great, everyone is really friendly. Buffett was pretty tasty, and covid rules were enforced properly. Nice restaurant to go to!

Buffet was awesome. Unlike many other buffets, everything was always nice and hot as the food was not just in warming trays. And it was very delicious, more flavorful than other Indian buffets I’ve been to. The chicken seemed of high quality. The staff is friendly. Would highly recommend.

By the passing of time, it has become the worst Indian restaurant in Winnipeg! Their buffet’s quality has significantly dropped but the price has gone up. Also, they charge different amount from different people for the same buffet. If you ask about it, they’ll answer very rudely. Overall, neither the food was good nor the customer service! I don’t recommend it!

This is a glowing review for Mitesh and his team at Charisma of India. My wife and I were recently married. It was a beautiful week of ceremonies and celebration that was easily the best moment of my life. Charisma catered our Hindu Wedding Ceremony and made sure that our expectations, and those of our guests, were exceeded at every step.

We were married during the second summer of the COVID pandemic. Public safety guidelines were changing every few weeks and we faced a lot of uncertainty in terms of putting on our event. While we were blessed to host all of our locally-based guests, we had to plan for every reality, even if that meant a wedding of ten people. Mitesh worked closely with us to make sure that our menu offerings would fit our location and would be fresh, that every dietary restriction could be accommodated, and that every beverage need would be met. Perhaps most importantly, food service was under particular focus of the law because of the pandemic – Mitesh and his team stayed on top of every change to make sure that our event could proceed without risking the safety of our guests.

Fortunately, we were able to host 150 guests at an outdoor location. With the support of Charisma and other vendors, we reconfigured our Wedding plan to fit a site at Assiniboine Park. Mitesh’s careful planning made sure that we didn’t have any issues related to food, waste removal, or service more generally. Virtually every guest told us that their dining experience was the finest Indian cuisine they ever had - we couldn’t agree more.

With Mitesh and the team at Charisma of India, I knew that I wouldn’t need to worry about anything in terms of our guest’s dining experience. They are extremely organized and their process can help you host your event beyond your every expectation. Delicious food. Even though they don’t currently have the buffet due to COVID-19, they have great combination meal options.

I ordered for the first time goat biryani from them for delivery. The biryani was delicious and just right amount of spicy for me, great portion for the cost. Planning to try some more dishes from them.

I would imagine I'll only ever give a 5 Star or 1 Star review for anything I post. 5 Star for Charisma. It was suggested by my good friend we try it out, Samosa mainly but we also ordered from the Vegetarian / Vegan section. Was very happy with how much food we got for the amount we paid. The spices were intense and delicious! I will for sure be ordering again to try the other dishes that looked so very tasty! Service for pickup was very friendly and welcoming - the inside (alas, currently closed due to covid) looked stylish and wonderfully themed.

I cannot believe how small the portions are for such a high price! I order Indian food on a weekly basis and decided to try somewhere new.what a bad choice that was!

Love the buffet! Plus. Ordered through Skip last night, and I swear it was at my door 15 minutes later. Amazingly fast. And delicious. Awesome customer service. I'm never disappointed.

Awesome menu. The samosas are some of the best I've had, and if you're wondering what to get for dessert the gulab jamun is to die for.

I don't know if it was just an off night for them, but their quality has gone way downhill since I last had them a few years ago. The naan bread was burnt, the chickpeas were mush, and the food itself was so salty I could barely eat it. If it had some flavor I might have given it a try but I couldn't. Even the tomato onion salad was just a whole onion randomly cut with half a tomato on top with a little bit of spice sprinkled on it.

Overall great flavors, good quality and good value. My wife and I are long time patrons of Charisma and we always enjoy the food and the interactions with staff and owner who are very personable be it for dine in (when available due to Covid guidelines) or picking up.

Charisma was great, everything was tasty and filling. The staff is friendly enough and the space is quite large. The food really is good, we were there for the buffet and it was all flavourful and rich. All except for the tandoori chicken, which was quite dry. It's quite welcoming in there too, they make you feel at home.

One of the best east indian buffets that I've experienced in Winnipeg. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner is always out on the floor talking to his patrons and greeting everyone and he's always dressed to impress. This is one of the hidden jewels of this city.

Never ever gonna visit this place the female came to us and said to us that don't waste food and you not allowed to takeout the food.as we spend money on food.their behaviour was too rude.

Always good; one of my go-to Indian restaurants in town. The fish curry is a favourite along with the shrimp biryani. Of course the butter chicken is a good choice if you don't like spicy currys, but I go for the vindaloo.

I just moved back to Manitoba after being away for 2 years and I MISSED this restaurant. It was one of my first stops being back (3 times over). Not to mention, each time I would come home for visit this would be our #1 meeting/dining place with all my friends! Stay fabulous Charisma! Best authentic food ever!

Today me and my friend went to Charisma of India for the dinner buffet. It was our first visit to this place and we were very excited as it is known for one of the best Indian cuisine in Winnipeg, Manitoba. But What we have experienced today, totally shattered our expectations. While we were having our food, the manager suddenly came and the first thing he said to us was " PLEASE DO NOT WASTE THE FOOD, I HAVE ALREADY WRITE IT DOWN EVERYWHERE. YOU CAN TAKE FOOD AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT BUT DO NOT WASTE THE FOOD". Though we were not wasting any food at all! His approach was not that good but still I took it very lightly because whatever he said has valid point. So I smiled and replied very politely that "YES OF COURSE, NO ONE SHOULD WASTE HIS OR HER FOOD. Till this it can be considered that everything is okay but what he said after that, I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THAT AT ALL. In reply he said that "YOU KNOW, PEOPLE FROM POOR COUNTRY WASTE THE FOOD MOST, SO DON'T WASTE THE FOOD". Yes you read it right. He mentioned the word "POOR" This statement from the manager left us totally shocked. We just finished the food and decided to leave the place as soon as possible. Though we were not wasting any food at all, still this kind of racist comment is not tolerable at all. We paid our bill, and gave 30 dollars tips to the cashier which made her happy. Then said to her that '' PLEASE TELL YOUR MANAGER THAT PEOPLE FROM POOR COUNTRY HAVE BIGGER HEARTS". And then we left the place as quick as possible.

So the bottom line is, People are spending their money for a better service. Instead of doing that, you guys are showing such kind of racism with customers. Nobody gave you the right to judge me from where I belong. Nobody gave you the right to talk about me and my country without knowing me properly. It is not tolerable at all. I am never visiting this place which is spreading racism other than quality service.

Love the samosas! For a group snack I call ahead and pop in for a dozen of them. Deep fried, not baked, so they have a few more calories... But so yummy.

Nice Ambience, A one Food and most importantly awesome Customer service by the staff and specially the Owner of the Restaurant. Highly recommended.

Had the buffet. The naan and the rice were nice as were some of the sauces for the samosas etc. Most of the main dishes, however, were mediocre and after the first round I ended up mostly just having sides. Not an awful meal, but I would not recommend it.

It wasn’t as expected flavour wise. The masala tasted like curry. Didn’t try much other than chicken masala and fish curry and they were very close to each other in flavour.

Food was okay but the owner has anger issues and does not know how to treat or how to talk to customers. The owner will go on rant about issues and ignores the fact you are a customer and not his friend. So to summarize avoid contact with the owner and just eat the food.

They have better butter chicken then clay oven. If you buy the take out buffet they also have a better value for your money.

Friendly staff, Tasty grub really delicious. Hard to not make a huge pig of yourself with so many delectable dishes to choose from. Nice decor a very comfortable vibe. A great dining experience from start to finish, i dig the look of the water jug they leave. Super classy the butter chicken is fantastic, pakora killer, palak paneer spot on. Great people, great food and great decor.

A good selection on the buffet but I did not find the food very great. The starters were fine but the pakoras were rather dry. The sauces for the mains were very liquid. The service was friendly but I do not think that I would bother to return.

Would give 10 stars if I could. Very nice greeter, fresh and hot food in the buffet. All the food was exceptionally good. I've been to 5 or 6 east Indian restaurants in the past month and this ranks at the very top. The restaurant is very clean with sparkling clean washrooms. It's obvious to me that these people care about their customers. This is my new go to place.

I come to this restaurant weekly, and love the vegan/ vegetarian food! Very tasty, affordable and super nice servers make my experience so much more pleasant. Very highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys spicy Indian food.

Decided to try here for the first time via skip the dishes. Wow. It was fantastic! Loved the veggie pakoras and veggie samosas. One of the best samosas I've had. Butter chicken was also delicious. Just the right amount of heat. Very generous portion of perfectly cooked rice. The naan was a little chewy, but i think that is just from condensation and cooling off during delivery. I bet it would have been excellent had I been eating it fresh in the restaurant. I am now excited to go in and try the buffet!

You can never go wrong with the lunch buffet which has numerous vegetarian choices. Naan is also served fresh and hot to your table. Great place to meet with friends and parking always available as they also own the whole lot!

I placed an order through the websites ordering service and received a confirmation number and pick up time; this was after entering required personal information from their order form. After arriving at my pick up time I was asked if my order was call in or Skip the dishes, I explain that it is neither that I used their website, and provided the confirmation number; I was informed the staff had no idea what I was talking about and my order was not prepared or accounted for.

I was told my order was not recieved due to the internet being down, yet skip the dishes was still okay, somehow? After being lied to about the internet connection I was offered to wait while they make my order, with zero compensation for their mistake after my family had been waiting for one hour and fifteen minutes.

We were offered butter chicken because it was already prepared, when informed that the order itself was completely vegetarian and vegan the hostess simply shrugged.

This was an extremely disappointing experience and I will not return, I've been a customer of theirs dating back to my teenage years but after such gross negligence and disinterest they have lost my loyalty, as well s my money.

Don't bother with this place

First time here and we were pleasantly surprised by the buffet. Nice variety of dishes but not not so many that it's quantity over quality like some places. Very nice flavours all around. And the gulab jamun was warm and yummy.

Spectacular food, chill atmosphere for a solo lunch, and was quick to prep a take-out order that I dropped off for my better half.

Highly recommend for lunch, but make sure you come exceptionally hungry.

Worse customer service ever, while taking our order the waiters cellphone started ringing and he just left in the middle of taking our order to answer his phone. We were really disappointed and left the restaurant without our order been taken.

Take a taste on the spicy side. Had the buffet. Very good assorted dishes of India food. 3 Desserts are delicious. Lots of space between tables.
