Cho Ichi Ramen

Great place, come here very often and always enjoy the food. The broth for the ramen is amazing, and I love the pork.

The broth of the ramen had no flavour just spice. Worst ramen I’ve ever had. I kindly said that it did not taste as good as usual and I was still left with paying for the full dish that I barely touched. Not impressed and would not go back again.

I was denied entry due to having a service dog. Manager was called and access was still denied. Do not recommend supporting this business as they discriminate against the disabled.

They break the law and violate the human rights of disabled people by discriminating against people with Service K9s and deny entry. Disgusting thing to do to someone who has every right to be there as much as any other patron. Shameful.

Worst for customer service arrived at 8: 30 pm for their last order, but they already lock the door, the server told us that his boss called him to close because it's a bad day. We even call earlier for advance order.

It was good ramen. Not enough Choshu for the price. I called in a take out order, and still had to wait. Would still recommend.

I used to like choichi for making their own noodles, but it seems that they have changed to cheap noodles.

Cho ichi used to have the best noodles in the city, but now they've "changed their recipe" and the noodles taste like they're from a no-name chicken noodle soup package.

The ramens are really good. Everything in it was seasoned before being put together. The meat in the ramen is soft and can be pulled apart with chopsticks. The takoyaki was really fresh and delicious. The fries were not really enjoyed; they have alot of toppings, but somehow that didn't add much for flavor.

First time to the Pembina location with my girlfriend and daughter. Loved it. I got the Cho Ichi original with tonkotsu broth my girlfriend got the spicy garlic Chintan and my daughter got the Shio Chintan. AMAAAAAZING, the broth was delicious on my ramen, had to try it before I added the chilli oil paste and black garlic. Absolutely unreal. Suffice to say I regret not taking a picture before I ate because it was gone way too quick. My girlfriend gave me some of her Chintan broth and wow. Whole different flavor profile. The pork and chicken were the most tender and flavor packed pieces you could ask for. Going back soon!

My kids love the food, and service was great. What more can I say! If there happy, I'm happy

Extremely overpriced. Very average ramen. Not rely even much better than a good instant ramen. Chicken was undercooked. The ramen should be 10 or 12 bucks, not 17.50!

Unfortunately, my food quality experience has been bad. The Ramen noodles were not fully cooked through. The soup tastes a little "basic"

Went here with my partner, been wanting to for years and it was great. I've since gone back there with just as good food and service.

Rojan (I hope I am spelling that right!) was our server and he was great. Chill place to go and enjoy an authentic bowl of ramen just how you like it. Come with an appetite because it's a hefty bowl!

Highly recommend the tempura cauliflower to share or the pork belly bun for yourself. AMAZING.

They make a toasted chilli paste sort of sauce you can add to your soup that is delightful. Has a kick but a great flavour.

Good food, but next time maybe we'll just use door dash or something to order. The other staff was rude, it was my first time going there with my friends. She ruined our good outlook on the restaurant. I don't wanna go there for a bonding again. Please be kind to customers, explain nicely if you need something to tell.

What is the hype about? It was okay, we ordered a couple of appetizers, the original and a spicy garlic ramen - nothing out of this world. $9 for a beer? ! Waitress forgot to get us our beverages + napkins. Perhaps there is a specific menu item that is outstanding and we didn't have it, at the end of it we wished we went to one of our West End favourites ¯_ (ツ) _/¯

I had no idea we have a ramen restaurant in Winnipeg! I've been looking for one to try and this place was so good. I could live on their Bao buns.
Heads up though, the spicy garlic is REALLY spicy! I was not prepared. Other than that it was so good definitely recommend

Pretty speedy cooking time, and amazing interior design! The food was tasty, and the vegetarian ramen was scrumptious. A perfect place to bring family or friends!

I take everyone I know to this place for some ramen! Their bao buns are also good. Takoyaki is my go-to in this place. The waitress is always nice. Services: 5/5. Keep up the good work, guys!

Not nearly as good as other ramen restaurants in the country, but the best we have in Winnipeg. (Doesn't really set the bar too high.) but for the love of christ, train your staff better. Every time I come the service is absolutely terrible.

Proper social distancing is observed. Sanitizer is provided at the entrance of the store. Great place to get your ramen and other japanese food

The Ramen is good, a little on the pricey side for what you get, but not a big issue. My big complaint is the staff seems either unmanaged or very new as the service was poor. Forgetting things, slow, I’ve had better service from McDonald’s.

I just ordered from here on Skip the Dishes and I specifically asked for no onions in my soup.

Not only did they put onions in my soup, but the soup itself was ice cold. It didn't take long to arrive, so it left the restaurant cold.

This was the biggest waste of money ever. I paid $30 to flush inedible soup down my toilet. I would have been better off taking $30 out of the bank and lighting it on fire. At least that would be hot.

It's bad enough that Skip rejects 90% of refund requests. I will never order from here again. It's not worth flushing my hard earned money

By far the best ramen place I've ever been to. They have the authentic Japanese-taste in their ramens and not to mention that their appetizers like Okonomiyaki Fries, Boneless Chicken, and Calamari are fresh and very tasty. Parking wouldn't be a problem and the place has a good waiting time!

Great noodles great broth and great prices but the broth was COLD. I have been there 10+ times and always forgot to ask for the broth to be warmer but on my last visit I was told the broth only comes in "one temperature". I guess the temp is cold. What a shame. It would be one of the best bowls of ramen in the city. Just can't do cold broth, especially when its this cold outside as well.

Are you sure you can't make the broth warmer if customers ask for it warmer?

Good food, casual atmosphere, attentive service, and reasonable prices. I'd recommend the spicy garlic ramen, but only if you're into reasonably spicy food in general.

Not the best ramen I have tried but prob one of the best in Winnipeg. I think the price is a bit on the high end for ramen. Good place to grab a lunch once in a while!

Loved the appetizers here. I'm not a big fan of ramen but had to try it since friends raved about it. I really enjoyed the ramen. It was perfectly seasoned and portions were just right. Will be back again.

The service was great.
The food was okay at best. The broth I got (Cho Ichi original) tasted bland to me and I expected a little more.

Had the tonkatsu shoyu and added the egg with some green tea. $3 for green tea is pretty steep. Egg 10/10 noodles 6/10 broth 7/10. Feels pretty standardized and not as good as say Sensotai in Ottawa. But good for Winnipeg and will go again. New server Aldrin? Was great.

My personal favourite ramen place. I love the spicy garlic tonkotsu broth and the noodles. My partner loves their takoyaki and prefers it over other places. Service is decent, they leave you alone for the most part but refill your water when they see it low. I will point out I usually dont come here in summer, the ramen is great for winter and that's when I eat it.

Always get the vegetarian ramen which is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's salted water and other times it's delicious. I really don't care for the inconsistency. They were also out of garlic today.which is weird for any place.

The ramen here was okay, maybe slightly above average. Adding chilli to it puts it over the line, otherwise it was not very rich. The chilli gives it a much needed kick. The pork was quite fatty, and there wasn't enough of it for me. The karaage was also kinda dry. It's not bad at all, but it's also not life changing either. If you're in the mood for ramen it's a decent place to go, but if you're expecting a stellar meal you might be disappointed. Having said all that, the staff is nice enough and the service was okay so it really doesn't have anything bad about it.

Ordered the classic ramen, with pork. The food was amazing. The service was a little slow, and the music was absolutely obnoxious.

Best ramen in Winnipeg! We love this place and my son is constantly begging me to go back. The ramen broth is amazing. The time and work put into creating the layers of taste is evident. Absolutely recommend. We have had ramen at many restaurants around the city including PF Changs (which is great for other items), Chosabi (also great for Sushi Burritos) and other places. Simply put, Cho Ichi has the best ramen in Winnipeg. I will add that I lived in Japan for 3 years, met my wife there and we both love Japanese food.

Sous vide Chicken or succulent pork. House pulled ramen with amazing broths. Delicious shio with all the options. Ask for Chili paste on the side. The teas are fantastic and they even offer an Asian spin on bonito flake poutine.

Good ramen. The staff is friendly and polite however lacks energy. On 2 consecutive occassions when only 2-3 tables were occupied, the staff forgot an item from our order and took around 30 mins to bring out the first bowl of ramen.

I was excited when it opened, and it was pretty good, but now the chashu tastes like nothing, and the broth isn't as good as it once was. The egg is never seasoned the way it should be despite looking the part. It's ok for a quick meal, but doesn't actually taste like authentic ramen.

Easily spotted on Pembina. I was very hesitant to try ramen again. Just say had a bad experience with another restaurant. But coming in the restaurant it is very bright and modern looking. Server very helpful and great even for it being a busy day. Soup was very good. Every spoonful was a delight on the tongue. The broth by itself made my day. The ingredients used in the soup was very pleasant and fresh. You actually see them make the noodles behind the glass. I was so pleased to come here. If you were disappointed before with ramen before try this place out. This might change your mind. It worked for me

Second time here, and enjoyed it more than the first time. Excellent, quick and friendly service and the food was well done. The Bao bun was soft and flavourful. Sweet, but not overly. The fries were very tasty and crisp. Of course the ramen remains well done, although I prefer my egg cut in half.

Had the original ramen and the fries as an appetizer. The fries were good, but unfortunately they came out only 30 seconds before the ramen. The meat, egg, and noodles were all perfect but the broth was bland. The service was also slow, but it sounds like this is not the norm.
