I have been going to the Clay Oven at Shaw Park and the one at Kenaston for many years. Tried Clay Oven express for lunch today - huge disappointment! Ordered spicy Prawn Hakka noodles - it did not taste anything like the one from Shaw Park and was extremely spicy. I had asked them to make it spicy but this was the heights of spicy. I have never had this problem at any other Clay Oven. When I tried to explain to the staff that the food was essentially not edible because of the level of spice and all I got was defensiveness. They did not try to fix the issue or offer an apology. Terrible customer service. I guess customers are always wrong at this Clay Oven!

Best Indian food they have! Everything is full of rich flavours. They are pretty fast as compared to other restaurants and the portion is good as well. Palak paneer is a must try! Very happy with the overall experience. I go there every now and then.

Although we have had excellent service in the past it was unfortunate that the manager and person who answer my wife’s phone call had took turns belittling and humiliating her over the phone after informing her of a potential food poisoning incident after eating there food.

I’ll late you the pics and story of why she went through but after the interaction with the staff via the phone we won’t go back.

Should anyone else have food poisoning of here be ready for an argument and belittling from the management and staff.

Stopped by on a Sunday evening after work, hungry. Got the Chana Masala platter. Waited while they made the naan fresh right there in front of me. The meal was delicious and hot, I will be back someday soon.

There was an error with my order and they went above and beyond to make it right. It ended up being a very positive experience. The food is also excellent every time!

Gave the wrong item on take out and not admitted trying to prove us wrong. Learn some good customer service.

One of the best Indian food options in Winnipeg. Lot of vegetarian options to choose from especially during the breaks because of the convenient location. The staff is really friendly and calm. The food is delicious. Overall, it Clay Oven provides exceptional food and service.

Great place for quick snacks. Really like their Tea and Samosa plate. Their Naan is also good an freshly made in front of you. Didnt really enjoyed the entrees but its was okay. Any snack item be that Tikki, Chicken platter, Burger is great.

Highly recommend the Vegetarian Samosa Plate. Super flavourful with a hint of heat. Very filling. Always pairs well with a side of Garlic Naan.

Ordered chicken biryani combo. Spice level was medium, the food came hot and fresh. Will be back for more.

Customer service is fine but we asked them twice to not to make the food spicy and they ended up making it hella spicy, that I couldn't eat it at all. And then they started telling me that the Hakka options are always spicy no matter what. However, the kenaston location is amazing. Friendly staff and delicious food.

Lazy people can't even follow their own restaurant timing says they open at 11 am but doors locked once called been informed they won't open till 1130 really. I guess keep your door close forever.

If you want a quick fix for some freshly baked naan or some spicy butter chicken then this place is the one to go to while down town.

Excellent restaurant. Best Indian restaurant of winnipeg. Must try their Paneer lababdar. Their customer service is above and beyond. Literally 5 star restaurent with awsome customer service and great staff.

This restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation and perfect Indian food to eat in the whole city. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

Went out to kadhai chicken and palak paneer. One of the best I had in the long time. Amazing experience and worth every penny.

The food was excellent, I ordered Panner Labab dar (Chef’s special) and Chana masala. They followed all the special instructions correctly. Everything was fresh and delicious.

I ordered a vegetarian meal Wednesday. Since I ordered lot of food. I did not try all of them on that day. Today, when opened the unopened dish, I found out that it was a Chicken curry instant of vegetable curry! Food taste is not really unto par as they had in past.

I waited for 45 min and, they messed up my whole order. Worst experience, stopped going there after this incident.

The service was exceptional with the two gentlemen that were manning the till.
The woman who took over was rude and abrupt.
I normally go for Samosas with hot sauce instead of tamarind. More than a couple of times when I went, she would tell me that they don’t have it or the last time I was there (which was this week) she would charge me for the hot sauce.
It is not on the menu that there is a fee for it.
Her attitude definitely will deter customers from coming.

Very good food. I usually get the butter chicken express combo. Sometimes, the container is only half full. Minus one star for this inconsistency and because their hours of operation was wrong on their website and was like that for some time (it may still be the case) which could mislead people to come when they are closed.

I wish I could give Zero stars. Please dont waste your money. I ordered hakka noodles and paid around $17. They served us in plastic take-out container. (as if we were sitting in some mall or cheap store) The service was pathetic and noodles were too damn oily. If I paid $17. Atleast I could get a good service.

Very small portion for an extra large Tikka Masala. Hardly any meat, container was half full, contained only vegetables and curry. Long time customer, not impressed.

Waooo.if you guys haven't tried this clay oven location you are missing everything best quality food taste like I am eating in india good job chef and very polite n friendly staff keep it up guys

Me and my wife had our anniversary dinner at this express location. Food is top notch if you compare it from other east indian restaurants. It could not have been more spectacular! We would love to come again and highly recommend it to everyone.

If I could give zero stars I would. I have had one of the most unpleasant and frustrating experiences with this restaurant and Skip the dishes. I placed a large order and instead I received a completely differently order that's significantly less than what I ordered. Annoyed? Yes! But I understand mistakes happen and figured I would contact the restaurant to smooth it over. I phoned Clay oven restaurant and spoke to a lady who told me that she's positive that she handed the delivery driver the correct order and that skip the dishes would ultimately fix this situation. I believe that she did and the driver from Skip messed up. But the restaurant should still take some accountability. So, I contacted Skip the dishes who told me that since the order was delivered there was nothing they could do. I hadn't eaten the incorrect order received, I also took a photo of it in case they needed proof. They still refused to help. While trying to resolve this, 3 skip the dish agents hung up on me. One agent told me she was going to verify the order with the restaurant and phone me back in 5 minutes. I received no follow up. Their argument remained that since I received a A order they couldn't issue a refund nor could they request the correct order to be sent. I called the restaurant again offering to come to the restaurant myself drop off the incorrect order I received in exchange for the order I paid for, she categorically refused! Here I am, being bounced around between the restaurant and skip the dishes. Ultimately, the lady on the phone said she would phone skip the dishes to resolve the issue and phone me back. I have received no follow up to this day. Now, I have no recourse both from Skip the Dishes and Clay Oven. Absolutely unacceptable! Worst service I've ever received. I will NEVER use Skip the Dishes again and will steer clear from Clay Oven because clearly they do not care about customer experience. I will NOT stop until this is resolved. You will NOT get away with this. It's a question of principal and I will not allow you to think it's ok to treat your customers like this.

One of the greatest restaurant I have tried in Winnipeg so far. We ordered Dal Makhni and Paneer lababdar and it was very delicious.
The staff suggested us Hakka chicken Momo's and aloo tikki burger, and it was so yummy.

I have eaten at Clay Oven many times over the years. The food has always been delicious and the service when dining in has been excellent. However I cannot say the same thing for the experience we had this evening. I called in an order for pick up and was told that it would be ready in 25 to 30 minutes, and the employee apologised, saying that they were very busy this evening. When we went to pick up our food, 30 minutes later, it wasn't ready. After waiting in the restaurant for more than half an hour, it was finally ready, 1 hour and 10 minutes after I had called in the order. I would hope that on busy evenings, which I'm sure happens often in such a good restaurant, the staff would be a bit more accurate in their estimation of pick up times. I was disappointed that there was no offer of a small discount or a free dessert or naan bread; this would have been a nice gesture to make up for the long wait.

Great team work! They do everything to make you good food. Once you come to this restaurant you will know what hospitality is. Certainly, you will come again. Customer is always honoured. Real service place.

Large butter chicken and rice, 25 bucks, barely fed one. You saved a dollar on my meal tonight by skimping bigtime but surely lost a customer. Consistency between locations is lacking.

Terrible customer service. Never coming back.it’s because I was standing there for quite of a time, no one tried to greet me, I had to call someone for my order at the front counter. This is actually not a very good customer service. The review is not for asking photo ID or even putting on the mask on, I support this procedure.

Service is amazing and there is always great happy kind smiling staff. The food is always perfect and I couldn’t help but recommend anyone willing to try something new to this clay oven.

I can definitely say that, this place serves best food in Winnipeg. I have tasted every single food and from my experience no one can give this delicious taste. Moreover, Chef and employees are so friendly, helpful as they ask every specific thing you need in the food. GREAT FOOD!

They have reduced the amount of cheese in their cheese naan and also i think the quality of cheese is also not the sameas before, but over all food is good!

This is the best location out of the three in the city! Ignore the others especially Clay Oven at Shaw Park but this location has the best food and the best owner/staff I’ve be interacted with! The food is delicious as heck and consistent in taste which is hard to find at the other locations.

I ordered catering from Clay Oven Express for a work holiday party. The servings were generous and the food was delicious. Everyone loved it. The staff there were even flexible and communicative about payment methods and times because it was a large order. Would definitely recommend!

GLASS IN FOOD! My partner bit down on a chunk of glass in his rice. When we called to complain they said "is he bleeding, thats my only concern". We're horrified. This is not a safe place to eat.

After work I stopped in and the place was empty so I waited for at least 5 minutes.i saw three guys in the kitchen.and one cook took his shoes and socks off and was applying an ointment.on his feet. I had to yell at them to get attention.the guy came to me without washing hands and ask me what I wanted.i walked out.how disgusting.

This is the best Clay Oven location to order from! Consistent excellent quality and delicious food! I love all the food I’ve tried so far. Yummy food for very fare prices ;) I recommend the large size entrees for nice shareable portions if you can manage sharing ;) good job! Thank you!

Food was good.but the lady at the reception knew that I was waiting to order food but she was pretending like didn’t know. After 5 min, she was smiling and assisted a man ASAP he entered inside the restaurant.

Clay Oven is a consistent favourite of ours. We had butter chicken, piryana chicken and mozza naan. All delicious and flavourful. You will never be disappointed with Clay Oven. Their express location downtown in the Hydro building is very convenient. Friendly staff. Helpful.

Amazing place to grab a quick bite from, especially at lunch during your breaks due to its convenient location! Great food made by a great chef! Really friendly staff and it's got a nice cute space for you to enjoy your meal outside or on their patio! The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm and elegant, so it creates a modern feel to it. All in all exceptional food and service!

I like coming here. They have great space with beautiful decorated interior and delicious food. The staff is very attentive.

The food was good and served hot. Spice levels was good. Very nice dining area with lots of outside light coming in.
