Cork & Flame Restaurant Bar Winnipeg

Perhaps it is Christmas time, the place was busy. BUT everything was slow and it took 3 hours for a dinner. Parking space is not enough at all and small, and the food was just warm. We are a group of 10+ with one day advance order our food. I can't think of any reason of the server to ask all of us our order instead of our names and kept asking us about order when serving our order. With traveling all the way from south of the city, it isn't worth at all. In addition, the staff who answered calls was not professional at all. I personally won't go there.

I am finally getting time to update my reviews and my Journey I had across Canada and the various places I had visited and managed to get a bite to eat and even though I didn't have the opportunity to have dinner here "yet" I did have the all day breakfast, The Athenian was perfect, I had eggs, sausage and my fav French Toast.was amazing and hey what can I say, I love Winnipeg and the Interior Design is awesome as are the staff and hopefully I can enjoy dinner next time I am travelling through this city.

I was there recently. I must say the hostess was very friendly. Had two waitresses, each walk by me twice, without any acknowledgement, gestures, etc. They seemed to be more interested in cleaning tables than serving me. A male server then came over and served me after awhile and apologized to me. I am not sexist by the way. They were not busy at this time. The breakfast was good and reasonably priced. The potatoes were good. It was a good and bad experience to me. I must admit it was my first time here. I was a regular back, years ago, when it was called something else and different ownership. I doubt I will be back.

Had a great time at Cork & Flame! The whole experience deserves 5 stars! Especially the appetizers and the waiters!

The wife and I stopped in one Friday night to check out this place. The interior looked warm and clean. We were greeted and asked if we had a reservation. We did not. We were asked to wait and after having to other people inquire if we were there to dine, the first staff member finally took us to a table. This is where it gets interesting!

The corner they stuck us in, the overhead light was not working which made it very difficult to read the menu. After finally ordering. The waitress came back and ask if I was sure if I wanted the bottle of wine I had just ordered. Then proceeded to stick the menu in front of me as if she thought I might have a problem with the price, really? Wow! I explained to her that I indeed wanted the wine and didn't need to see the price as I already looked at the menu and ordered.

During our meal we were never asked how everything was and didn't see our waitress at our table again until I stopped her for our check.

We felt totally embarrassed by the whole visit! I expect that level of service from a dive, not a supposedly decent dinning establishment! Was it how we looked or dressed? Perhaps, I hope not!
The only bright spot was the food was very good.

Overall I give a 3 out of 10, only because of the food. The service was atrocious!

I believe in supporting local businesses and also giving second chances, I may try another visit, hopefully it will be a better experience. Fingers crossed.

This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, good music, and our server was wonderful. While the portions were quite large, the French fries came out cold and a little soggy and the chicken was dry. The other meal ordered was good, despite the same French fry issues (cold and soggy).

I do not normally leave reviews but this restaurant is so amazing with their service. From the entrance, we were greeted by Kelly Rae, then got assisted by Carol. We got the Tomahawk Steak (To die for!) and the Baby Back Ribs with a massive serving. FOOD was so delicious. To top it up, Kiri checked how's our food and gave us a complimentary dessert - Yummy Apple Crisp as an anniversary gift. This is what you call EXCELLENT Customer Service. Happy to celebrate our Anniversary here. We'll be back for that prime rib. Kudos everyone!

The service we received and the food was great! I’m giving a rating of 1 star because we overheard loud and clear the owner berating a staff member about not doing a good job, the staff member visibly upset and crying. There are better ways to address issues with your staff, and to do it within ear shot of guests is appalling. This guy needs sensitivity training

The atmosphere was electric.
The food was delicious, and as a picky person, I enjoyed my pecan crusted chicken.
I just have one little issue to speak on.
We had to wait for our table, and then waited a long time for the food.
But other than, the food was amazing!

Me and My Best friend went on a Girls Date to Crok & Flame for Drinks and Appitzers in the evening. When we enter the restaurant there was a strong odor not sure what it was it continue to the washroom too, hopefully they wil fix that. The lounge area was tight had high chairs and tables and loud Screens with sports. There was a dinning area as well for intimate dinner. We sat at the lounge area it was getting little loud when its pack so if you want to have a quiet dinner just ask for the dinning area. There was live music with some Jazz and pop mix it was so lovely.ordered appetizers and cocktails. Food tasted delicious, Cocktail was super. Our server was so friendly and kind. The Owner came to us and greeted us i thought that was very nice. We will sure come again for summer to enjoy the patio area.

Food and service excellent as always. Unfortunately table next to us, all the people seemingly had to either talk very loudly or shout at each other as their way of conversation. Will still go back to dine.

Cozy atmosphere and tasty food. Prices are reasonable. There's also a breakfast menu. I will be going back.

We had dinner for our birthdays. My wife ordered the Salmon Wellington, stuffed with cream cheese and spinach. Delicious! I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye steak. Perfectly prepared and tender beyond expectations. The double baked potatoes were great. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Winnipegers finally have another Top Quality, relaxing, clean, fair price restaurant located in the West END.
A quiet relaxing environment, truly enjoyed the food and supporting local entertainment on the patio.

Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent cocktails. Live musicians were plain awful. I would have paid them not to play. Out of tune and out of sync. They really took away from an otherwise perfect dinner.

Great food, tasty good portions. Service was slower being short staffed, but they took good care of us. The place was very clean. Staff is very friendly, even being short. Great experience. Ribs were all you could eat and no complaints from anyone who had them.

We had the prime rib on Friday. It was delicious. Our waitress, Stacey was outstanding, even the owner came over to chat

Good food, huge portions, and probably the best service out here in Winnipeg. Every little thing down to the desserts are made in-house by their amazing chefs. You can also tell how happy the chefs/servers are. Says a lot about management!

Came for an earlier dinner with a party of eight and it wasn’t too busy when we arrived. It was everyone’s first time here. Albeit quite loud (live music in the lounge competing over speaker music in the restaurant), the space was nice and contemporary. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our table. Unfortunately it took an hour and a half to receive our entrees (we watched as tables who arrived after us eat first). Meals were satisfactory. Note that this isn’t a family-friendly restaurant; there are high chairs but after confirming with our server, there isn’t table for diaper changes in either bathrooms (we had to change our little one in our car).

We had a lovely experience at Cork and Flame. The owner was wonderful and came around to check on us a number of times throughout the evening. The servers were on top of everything and always available for questions or to drop off drinks/food. We had a small issue with our steak and the head chef immediately came to the table to fix it. Overall, excellent customer service. There was live music on the lounge side - it made for a great atmosphere.

The food was very good. I can’t say enough about the prime rib dinner. It was absolutely delicious! The fries were seasoned great and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The Greek salad was incredible! We will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu. Suggestion - make a reservation on Saturday night - the place was packed! Thanks for the great experience!

We called in a order for 5, order was ready on time, and all of us really enjoyed the dinners. Fyi, the pickerel dinner was best in a while l have had! We definitely plane to call again or dine in!

Slow service, order was sent back as the kitchen made the wrong food and didn't follow what was ordered

We found Cork and Flame via their Instagram account and we were not disappointed. By chance we were greeted by the owner whose smile and warm demeanor was infectious. As a vegetarian, the menu was fun and interesting – lots of options. My date was gluten free, and he had tons to chose from as well. The portions were huge – almost over the top – and it tasted amazing. This is great for a formal date night or just an evening out with friends.

Food is amazing, but I have noticed the service slowed down a bit. Don't expect to take less than two hours for a dinner, specially on weekends, when the lounge is crowded.

Ordering by phone is easy and very personalized. The food is of great quality And well-crafted. We are regular customers and highly recommend cork& flame.

Just popped in for an ‘eye opener’ breakfast and could not be more satisfied. Service was quick and courteous, food was good and plentiful- all for $20 for two (including coffee and tip) - definitely be back

OMGGGG! The best place in Winnipeg to eat! We had our staff party there (a group of 16 people - Sage Creek Eye Centre), tonight and the whole atmosphere was so comfy. The staff were INCREDIBLE! Thank you Danielle and Sarah who catered to us without hesitation or waiting for anything. These ladies were ON POINT! Appetizers are so delicious (we ordered most of them) steak bites are out of this world, calamari was succulent, mushrooms Neptune were overflowing with goodness and the cauliflower bites are to die for!
Dinner was amazing as well! Huge potions at such a great price! I had the chicken parmigiana and it was incredible! Wine selection is very good as well!
End of the night and we got to meet the owner (or GM…. Not sure! Sorry!), Kiriakis and he is as wonderful as the establishment itself. I would definitely recommend and will be coming back more often hands down! They get 12 Out of ten in my books!

Went for supper for the first time. It was lovely. Our server Dove was fun and attentive. The atmosphere was festive but not overdone. There was beautiful piano music that set a nice mood.
Our food and drinks were fantastic. We need to come back to try the breakfast and another day to try desserts.

Enjoyed the lunch time menu. Tried Sunday breakfast, was not too happy with blandness of hashbrowns, could use some spicing up, black pepper, seasoning salt n onions.
Just my preference when I cook at home.
Restaurant staff were busy n accomodating to needs.

The place is nice, very fancy and comfortable but the food unfortunately is not good, I had calamari and was super salty and not fresh at all plus I waited almost an hr for my plate.

Some friends and I went here last night. I'm always try to find these self made places. Im not a fan of franchise food and its harder and harder find unique places to go. We seen this while driving and wanted to check it out. This place was very busy and we had no reservation. They where still very accommodating. Very nice people. Great atmosphere when you walk in. That soft light out door patio was amazing. Service was super friendly, the food was excellent. Fresh vegetables, the ribeye was cooked med rare perfect. Service was little slow. Not sure if it was cause they where just super busy, maybe receiving from dinner rush or what was what. But was worth the wait. I'm definitely going to be back, there is alot more on that menu we want to try.

Breakfast is expensive - unless yu compensate with the free flowing coffee. Food ok, nothing exceptional. But the plcae is often busy, so perhaps it is just me

Ordered the special today and my Denver came without the bread toasted. Bread was soggy upon arrival. Asked for ketchup for the fries to be put in the bag and even that was not given. Only reason I have two stars is because they don’t do delivery until 4 pm. Mind you they do charge $4 delivery for it to be brought 1 min down the street and tipped $5 in tip on top of that. Definitely not satisfied.
