Love the food here not alot of options in gimli and I would prefer country boy over the other couple burger places

Horrible service and the lady working the front counter is extremely racist it’s so unbelievably blatant. I honestly can’t fathom how they’re still operating with how they treat POC. Would not recommend coming here. All these reviews share a common theme so please keep this in mind before going.

Ordered a cheeseburger that included Chili and didn’t get the Chili. Wasn’t asked if we were dining in or sitting out, but we had been sitting down to eat in and were given food in take out bags.

Long wait to get order taken. At least two groups of people left after waiting considerable time with no staff in sight. No acknowledgment /greeting / apology from staff when they appeared after 20 min. Limited selection (3) of beverages as they “ran out” of other options. Portion of fish for the platter was minuscule, no olives on Greek salad but it did have one small piece of tomato. No lemon for fish “ran out”. Tartar sauce was the size of one jam for toast. Had to ask for cutlery and ketchup for fries. Would give a lower rating if it was an option. Embarrassed as I was “treating” two others for lunch. Not recommended. Will not return.

World place to eat, negative marks. The lady (server) was so direspectful.worst customer service. Not recommended at all

Terrible experience. Me and my friends just got to gimli for a school trip and we went in here for my friend to grab a bite and so we cam figure out what we were going to do while we were here. My friend ordered a salad for 11 dollars and it was smaller than my hand. As we were waiting for her food we sat down at a table and this lady came up to us saying that we had to order before we could sit and kicked us out. Also I wanted to get a kids meal and she said that I couldn't because I'm not a kid. Terrible service and I will not return. Not to mention it's super overpriced and they don't even list the prices outside where the menu is.

Terrible customer service. Cashier was very rude and seemed like he did not want to help us at all. The food was ok, burgers were not bad. The fish portion for the fish and chips was SMALL. I came here because Kris' fish and chips is closed at the moment and I instantly regretted coming here instead. Will not be back.

The fries were cooked in the same oil as fish from the restaurant and tasted very strongly of fish. Ice cream was good tho

I wish someone teaches him humanity, I feel pitty on him.

EXTREMELY RUDE. Came here with my friends and they told us to get out, its our first time being there. They could have been nice. She may as well have a broom and sweep us all out

Very disrespectful environment. The old lady working tried to make us leave for nothing and was very rude. I would not suggest this restraunt because of the way they treat employees. Should definitely do something about it.

Awesome burgers for a very good deal. Don't go to BG or McD, etc. This is by far better. Very good icecream. Friendly call atmosphere.

Way over priced for tiny cones, a mushy burger, a long wait, and not personable staff. I wish I’d spent my $40 elsewhere. Lesson learned. The cheeseburger also had no cheese but how do you check when it’s tossed in a paper lunch bag with fries on top?

Worse place ever visited, so much rude and racist people work here. First of all they didn’t let us sit there because we were holding a coffee which was not bought from this place. And then when I throw out the coffee in the trash so i can dine in they still didn’t let us

Small town diner ambiance, I would give another 1/2 star but alas not able.it's not a 4 but a solid 3 +. Cheeseburger was very good.nice char on the meat. I forgot not to order the chili on it.it comes with. It. Was good the wife had poutine she said very good. Will return.

Very overpriced for the small portion you recieve. I ordered a large choc sundae and a small vanilla soft serve cone and it came to $11.10 can't wait til Dairy queen comes at least you will know what your getting.

Food was too Pricey, Poor Quality Food, Burned fries, oily Fish, Server was Rude too.
They don’t have any Basic sauces with Fish and Chips.
When I ask for Hot sauce or Mayo, The Grandma said Bring Your own we don’t serve anything with that. That’s So Rude.

Rude and condescending service, no prices advertised outside and you only find out that a small soft serve ice cream cone is FIVE dollars after they hand it to you and proceed to, in a demanding tone, ask for the money.

My family normally goes here every time we are in gimli, well after today, never again. We spent the day at the beach and decided to stop in to get my toddler son a kids meal to eat on the way home. I left him in the truck as it's not always an easy task getting him in and out. Well when I tried ordering it, the older woman at the counter told me I couldn't order a kids meal without having my kid with me. She suggested that I was ordering it for myself and actually made me get him out of the truck and prove I had a kid. Lady, it's not like 8 dollars is that great of deal for 2 chicken strips and fries that people are going to try and con you. It was supposed to come with a drink too which they didn't even offer my which was ok cuz I wouldn't have been able to carry it with my son in my arms anyways. Then I had to deal with my son having a melt down, as predicted, getting him back into my truck. Another customer was surprised I even went back and gave her my business. I almost didn't go back but I didn't want her to have the satisfaction of thinking she was right and that I was a liar. I hope she feels bad. Plus, my son needed to eat. Awful experience!

If there was 0 star, I would rate a Zero! Very rude staff! I don't know if it was because we were from a minority group. My friends and I were just talking outside and were planning what we wanted to order but this lady out.of nowhere cracked open the window and yelled at us to step away as it was "against the law" to stay by their patio. She didn't even ask if we were going to order. We decided to order from another place instead. We were so embarassed. We were with our kids at that time. We were not from around there and we plan not to come back. Very traumatizing experience.

Rude cashier and very racist. Should’ve read the reviews before coming here and bringing the business.

Extremely overpriced for ice cream. Had to tell the staff member our order more than 3 times as he kept forgetting the very simple and basic order. We ordered two dip cones for my kids and it was 12$. The ice cream was already melting as the staff member handed it to us, and the portion was very small for 6$ per cone. Rip off. The ice cream is much better next door at Kris' fish n chips, however they were unfortunately closed, which is why we ended up trying Country Boy instead. Would not return.

On the Monday of the May long weekend Country Boy was one of few restaurants I could get into and turns out I will avoid it in future. I ordered the pickerel burger which took awhile which was okay as it was busy. It was a little pricey, advertised to have a homemade sauce but the inside of the bun was dry. There was some shredded lettuce with what seemed like oily Greek dressing sitting on the pickerel. So I went back to the counter and told the young guy and asked if they had mayo and ketchup. He looked like he didn’t really care, gave me a packet of ketchup and told someone who eventually plunked a small container of mayo on the other side of the counter. I then asked if they didn’t have some sauce like advertised? The young guy said yes but looked totally indifferent so I said never mind and took the mayo. I went back to the table then realized I wasn’t given any knife. So I went back to the counter, and was ignored until finally I just had to interrupt to ask. At this point, I didn’t even want to be there. When I finally got the burger together, I realized that the lettuce and oil concoction had made everything extremely soggy and I couldn’t even pick the bun up without it all falling apart. So I just ended up using the knife to cut it into pieces to eat and get out of there. I would hope with a number of negative reviews that they might get their act together before the summer season.

Went today with my mom. I haven't been there in a while. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. I had the chili burger. My mom had the fat burger. We also shared an order of fries. Everything was outstanding. Burgers were excellent and the fries were some of the best I ever had. Kiki was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Highly recommended.
