Everyone here is so compassionate. Our bunny, cat & dog have received excellent care. The staff are caring and kind.
I also feel as if they are NOT trying to upswell constantly as I have felt in other vet offices, sadly.

This is a great vet office. We take all our pets here. The staff is super friendly and awesome with the animals. They are always really helpful. I wouldn't trust my pet's health with anyone else!

After moving to Winnipeg, I had 2 very bad experiences at two different vet's, and I was worried about finding a good office. I then remembered about Dakota. 11 months after moving here, my beloved 6 year old cat Little-bit, died in my arms of intestinal cancer. I hadn't planned on getting another cat for awhile, but a few days after Little-bit's death, I was told about an elderly cat (around 18-19 years old) whose elderly mum had been admitted to hospital and not expected to live. Her family took the cat, Biggy, to Dakota to be euthanized, but thankfully they refused to put down a healthy cat. They said they'd keep her and find her a home. Biggy had been living in a back room at the office for almost 5 months, and people loved her, but they didn't want such an elderly cat. I heard about her a few days after Little-bit passed, and I knew that I couldn't let her spend the end of her life there, she needed a home and a new mum. So against most people's advice, I became mummy to the renamed Miss Biggy, and we enjoyed 17 months together. I then became mum to Chewie, who had been a barn cat who was accidentally injured when a horse stepped on her, breaking her leg. It wasn't safe on the farm for Chewie anymore because of lynx, bobcats, coyotes etc, so my cousin sent her to me. She was violent and bit me badly many times, including one bite to the bone. The vet at Dakota diagnosed her with nerve damage, and a mild head injury. She's now on anti anxiety meds and a pain killer, and she rarely bites now.
Dakota veterinary hospital has been great to me, but most importantly, they have cared for my my precious fur-persons in a kind and compassionate way. I recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone who is looking for a good and caring place.

Recently we had to switch vets due to our vet retiring and Dr Bartley/Dakota Vet was recommended by a friend. We immediately made an apt for one of our dogs as the vet we had been seeing since our vet retired was concerned about the increase in intensity of our dogs heart murmur and wanted to do an EKG and Xrays. Dr Bartley examined our dog, and decided the first course of action was to do the EKG first and then determine if further diagnostics would be needed. The EKG was booked promptly and in the end it was a best case scenario and no further treatment is needed at this point.

I found all of the staff including Dr Bartley super lovely, and easy to talk to. All of our questions were answered, and I didn't feel like I was being pressured into unnecessary testing (and incurring unnecessary costs). The pricing is reasonable and the team knowledgeable. The hospital is a bit of a drive for us but we are completely willing to drive wherever to receive honest, informed and compassionate care of our fur family.

Poor customer service because receptionist created a situation that ended so poorly that I will never return and asked for my account to be cancelled. She called into question that I had a hearing impairment - so discriminatory. I only wanted to know the price of the larger bag.

I am beyond happy and super grateful for having found Dr. Gould again as well as Dakota Veterinary Hospital after having to change hospitals five times for various reasons over the last 40 years.
Dr. Gould treated my Miniature Schnauzer Alpha while at Best Friends Veterinary Hospital. I was extremely happy with her tremendous compassion, and excellent and professional care. My two Boston Terrier cross Pugs had their first visit for their annuals in June. Yesterday they went in for extensive dental cleaning and two extractions.
I was simply overwhelmed with how gracious, friendly and attentive all of the front end manager and staff treated me, mother Lily and daughter Callie.
Dr. Gould and the techs did an amazing job during the cleaning and surgery and at a cost that was quite reasonable.
Both of my dogs recovered from the anesthetic and other effects quite rapidly, and today they are completely back to their normal selves - except that their food has to be softened.
I extend my warmest solid gold thanks and enormous gratitude for literally saving my furbabies from having to be put down?

Dakota Vet has been amazing. Recently switched from Pembina Vet and really happy we made the change. All the staff have been super friendly and made both our dogs feel really comfortable. Dr. Bartley was fantastic, she made our very shy and hesitant bulldog feel at ease.

We've been taking our dog here for many years. Her health is their top priority. She loves going there. Staff are friendly, even when our doggie has bowel accidents.

As much as Dr. Gould has been my rock and source of confidence in navigating the aging process of my dogs - I want to give special recognition to the front desk team at Dakota, and in particular. Larissa. Her communication is clear, confident and concise - which helps me as a pet owner feel confident. Whether its getting prescriptions filled, setting up appointments or answering questions - or helping me in a moment of worry or panic. Larissa's service level on the text messaging service with Dakota is top notch. I personally believe she gets to know the dogs and owners that come to Dakota, and she takes a vested, personal interest to ensure your questions and needs are met. When she says she'll ask the Dr.to get back to me on a question or confirm something with medication - she follows through. I don't take that level of commitment and service for granted. Larissa, you're truly a part of our dog family's healing and health journey.

Dakota Vet is very caring and shows genuine compassion for my dog Tucson.
He had minor surgery lately and they forgot to take out one of the stitches. Disappointed as no one took accountability for this error.
I got a call from their administrator regarding this review. We had a nice conversation and she was very interested in my issue.
Dr Gould is the best and I will continue to take my dog to Dakota vet.

Dakota Veterinary Hospital is the absolute best vet clinic I've dealt with. The team is friendly and helpful and my dog is totally at ease there - which has not always been the case at other clinics.

Appointments at Dakota are never rushed and I always feel heard when explaining any concerns about my dogs health. Lastly, the pricing is always well-explained and reasonable which is just a bonus on top of the great care.

My dog has been a “patient” here for a year and a half and has had kennel cough and canine papillomas. He has also been neutered at the clinic. They have been wonderful with him for everything he’s been through. The doctors are great, desk staff is great, as well as the assistants and techs! I find the pricing for everything has been fair. I’ve had no complaints and suggests all my friends to see them.

Amazing all around. My cat was so comfortable there she didn't really want to leave. Great staff, great environment.

Dr Bartly was amazing with my good Boi. Even though it was not the best news (hip dysplasia in a puppy never is), she was hopeful, positive, supportive and professional. I'm grateful for her insight and compassion. Sylvia from physio was also completely wonderful. As with Dr Bartly, she gave me lots of hope for my guy going forward and hands on taught and showed me how best to help him. Highly recommend this clinic. All the staff are amazing.

My experience here was very short-lived because unfortunately I had to put my pet hedgehog down but the care we received was exceptional. Matcha became very ill very quickly and the only veterinary hospital that was able to squeeze her in was Dakota. They made her a priority by ensuring to push our appointment forward whenever a slot was open and I am very grateful for that. Dr. Gould and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that she was doing well with calls/texts about updates. They even went as far as sending us a nice card! Dakota Vet has been very knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring because they understand that it was a very difficult experience for us.

I would 100% recommend Dakota Veterinary Hospital because not only do they demonstrate care for the animals, but they also show the greatest concern and sympathy for their owners. We've always felt taken care of from the moment we stepped inside—I would like to give them a big thank you as well.

I am updating a previous review. I want to share how amazing Dr. Gould is and her support staff! I have many pets and she treats each and everyone with love and the utmost care. I have had a couple guinea pigs that have needed surgery and she handled each case with an excellent bedside manor and top notch care/skill. She was there for us well beyond what most vets would do! Won't go anywhere else

Going to the vet can be quite a stressful experience, especially for our Mercedes, who is not quite used to all the new dogs and scents in a strange place. We loved the special attention given to our girl. The staff did everything possible to make her feel safe and cared for, which is very much appreciated. By the end of the appointment, you can see how she was feeling a little more comfortable with her surroundings. Thank you so much for all you do.

My husband and I recently adopted a puppy from MUR. This rescue is associated with Dakota Vets and for good reason. We have had nothing but a great experience with this veterinary hospital. From the moment you walk in you feel taken care of. After our pup's surgery there was a follow up phone call and a follow up text. I have talked a couple of times with out vet, Dr. Gould, and she is wonderful. All my questions and concerns were handled in a caring professional manner. We will be staying with the vet even though it is a little bit of a drive for us. Thanks!

To say that our dog Tucker loves getting groomed by Rachelle at Dakota Veterinary Hospital is an understatement. Rachelle’s bubbly, gentle, animal-adoring nature, and competent skill set puts our ADHD exuberance-scale-10 dog immediately at ease making his grooming sessions manageable for him, with exceptional results for us.

We’ve been long time users of Dakota Veterinary Hopsital for all our dogs and have not been disappointed yet. The care at this location is exemplary. Every staff person treats your pet like it’s the most special animal on the planet! But of course they love our dog the most. Lol.

It’s well worth the effort bringing your pets for any kind of health- or maintenance- care here.

With all of my heart I would recommend Dakota veterinary hospital. For two days I had to drop my very sick, beloved dog off on my way to work. I got regular updates, he was treated like family and the invoice was very reasonable. Honestly it is the best decision you will ever make for your pet. Just trust me!

I ended up here on a whim as they were the only place I could find with an opening today and I'm so glad I did! The receptionists, vet techs and doctor (Dr. Ruhlen) were all amazing and so loving to my little guy! I really enjoyed Dr. Ruhlen as  she was very knowledgeable and didn't suggest against raw feeding which several other vets have done (and was also very  knowledgeable on CBD for animals, Yay!). We had a bit of a miscommunication on the phone about pricing this morning and they were kind enough to honor the price they quoted me originally.

The office also had a little cat tree in the patients room which was a really nice touch and made Tisserie feel right at home! This will certainly be Tisseries regular vet from now on, I would definitely recommend taking your little fellas here! (Bonus points for having knowledgeable on sphynx cats too!)

After 2 visits to DVH, I felt as if we had been clients for years. Staff are friendly. Doctors are responsive and take time to explain details. Treatment of my little Bichon was excellent - very knowledgeable, professional and caring. Definitely 5 stars!

Thank you for allowing pet owners to come into the examination room with their animals now. I really appreciated being able to be with my dog during her annual examination. I know it has been necessary to be very careful because of Covid. The staff are very friendly, patient, and efficient at Dakota. I have taken my chows to see Dr. Vonderbank for over 20 years and she has always been kind, incredibly knowledgeable, has an amazing memory for my dogs' medical histories, and given superb care and medical advice. The staff at Dakota Vet have been completely professional since the first time I contacted them about my adopted puppy. They are very kind and have an clear love for the animals in their care. My first experience with them was the best experience I have had with any Vet and will be proud to keep them as my main Vet from here forward.

Recently, I had to put my dog down, for how much I miss her, I appreciate the doctors at Dakota Veterinary Hospital for giving my dog a phenomenal experience to leave with, they took care of her, and made her comfortable. They gave us lots of time to stay with her and express our emotions, and they provided a safe space once she was gone, with this being my only experience with them, I was astonished at their professionalism and care that they showed me and my family, they really cared about my dog, and for that, I'm extremely grateful, thank you.

Everyone at this clinic goes above and beyond expectations. They are so loving towards my pup. I am so grateful for what they do for me and my aging hound. I love how they always check in on us after we have attended. You guys are truly the best!

My cat Lily has been recently diagnosed with Diabetes and the staff at Dakota Vet Hospital have been very helpful taking care of her and with navigating me through her care at home.

Family name is The Brule's and we have had many dealings with Dakota Veterinary Clinic over 20 years. They are always so professional and caring. Every Doctor and technician is compassionate when people need it most, when their beloved pets need help.

Dr. Bartley is such a nice, caring doctor. Took the time to thoroughly check out my dog that was having issues and explaining and answering all my questions.

Dr. Vonderbank is great! She has helped my fiancé with her dog Ahji for years and now is also caring for our new puppy. She takes the time to explain things and really wants to help make sure you have the tools necessary to be the best parent for your pet.

Great service! My pup had diarrhea so I called them to see if it was a normal reaction to just having her shots, turns out it was not so they had me bring in a sample which they tested that day. Dr. Bartley called me after hours to let me know my puppy had a bacterial infection and stayed late to make sure I could start treatment ASAP! Amazing services and very friendly staff and vets!

My 6 year old rescue dog has been a patient of Dr Gould's for about a year. So I have not yet been inside to meet the staff, but even over the phone, their caring and professionalism shines through. I very much appreciate being fully informed about the issues regarding Sonnet's health. I really like this vet hospital.

It isn't always about money and up sell here. Twice now I have taken my dog in for issue and they told us to "see how it goes" and NOT GO for a invasive surgical procedures. The surgeries were discussed but they said it is a little early to do so and see if a few months of rehab resolved the issue. A similar situation happened again with a broken tooth. Checked to see if the tooth was impacted or creating aa issue and they said " not now.see what it does over time and then we can act". They really seem to care about the animals they treat.just like this dog parent! Keep up the great job!

We adore the staff at Dakota Veterinary Hospital (DVH). We have been patients of Dr. Gould for nearly 7 years. From adoption to spays/neuters to medical emergencies. The staff are patient, gentle and extremely knowledgeable. When our animals were in crisis, DVH answered questions, scheduled short-notice appointments, provided hands-on direction and medication.and then followed up by text message to see how the critters were recovering. I cannot say enough good things about this team. THANK YOU

We have 2 older dogs that are having serious problems with their health. We have been seeing Dr. Vonderbank and she has been very caring and has gone out of her way to try to determine the causes. I would highly recommend her to anyone

The best veterinary practice I've ever dealt with in 40+ years of life with dogs. Although they are dealing with more clients than ever during this pandemic, I never have to wait too long for my dog to be seen nor do I feel rushed when I need to ask questions. Dr. Bartley and her staff of vets, technicians, and admin staff are always friendly and obviously care tremendously about the animals in their care. For the first time in his life, my dog is happy to go to the vet and that says a lot!

I called them because my regular vet couldn't get my cat in for a couple days and she was getting very sick. The receptionist spoke to the vet directly and they squeezed me in an hour later. Dr. Gould was amazing with explaining everything and answering my questions, and the vet tech Meaghan sent me a picture of my cat all comfy and wrapped up in a blanket while I had to wait in the car. Super happy with the care they give and will be going back.

They all are very nice and careful. Super professional and make the experience of taking my cats good. I always had excelent diagnosis and nice vet tecniticians.

Always top notch care for our 2 dogs. Love the relationship I have with the all of the office staff, and especially Dr. Bartley, since 2020 was tough on both dogs. I am extremely appreciative of the help we receive, even when urgent issues pop up unplanned.

Our family had the best care possible when our cat (peanut) was recommended a very invasive surgery for her face and dental. Dr. O’Morrow performed the surgery and Dakota vet assisted her. Peanut has recovered so much better than we had anticipated for her age and for what she had done. We cannot thank all of the team that worked on Peanut. They were so professional, compassionate, and went way above and beyond to help accommodate us during this covid-19 pandemic. With our own crisis with a our family cat. I hate the saying when people are looking for a vet. “Anyone know of a cheap vet”You want a great vet. Your pets should be like your children and mean the world to you.

Took my boy chai (frenchie) here for the first time a couple weeks ago.i have never been so happy with a vet to where i’d come leave a review, Dr. Vonderbank is extremely kind, patient with chai and very thorough when deciding what care is best for him and also when explaining everything. Chai is a special needs dog and requires extra care and has had a tough time recently, Dr. V took time out of her day to call on multiple occasions to check in on chai and help guide us when we were making decisions for his emergency care. Also the assistants and front desk staff were so kind i appreciate it a lot, i’m pretty sure ones name was shauna, she stands out to me and was so complimentary to chai she’s awesome. This is a business where i feel more than okay with giving them my cash and the value exceeds how much you pay.
