Dollarama

Always has neat stuff and even sells comics for cheap. The only downside would be when junkies are trying to steal (from a dollar store) and there's always some ignorant jackass sticking up for them. The staff are saints to have to put up with that idiocy.

Convenient location with a large variety of stock. Always find something useful!
Staff are typically friendly and helpful.
Store itself is clean and organized.

Always a joy seeing people count change, 5 people working 10 ppl in line, one cashier? !? Puzzzling.

I've always enjoyed going to Dollarama, but I have to say I'm becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of their merchandise, combined with the no refunds policy, and their increasing prices.

For example, I recently bought a meat thermometer here - not that cheap, at around $4 - and after a few uses, quickly realized it was not accurate at all. I bought a set of 12 pens here once, and only a couple of them actually worked.

There are still some products worth buying here, but in many cases you'd be better off shopping somewhere that actually stands behind their products. If items were actually $1, I could excuse the poor quality, but most items are closer to $2-4 now.

Not a very good location iv been coming to this location for over a year as it's walking distance from where I live they always watch me like I'm going to steal I have seen all the employees numerous times and I have never once stolen anything but everytime I walk into this location a worker is always behind me checking the shelves or what not the only reason I come back to this location is because I don't drive and this one is the closest to me.

Love dollarama but the prices are getting to be too much. Gonna have to go to dollar tree more often I think

Great.store. I feel bad for the staff. 2 times this year have run into the staff getting picked on by the homeless people and well they call police and are told to call the community police office untill customers than place call to 911. Than This is unaceptable. They do not get paid well to be dealing with being targeted. The homeless people some time run in and just take what they want and leave. Feel bad for staff. Wonderful staff they have.

One of our items rang up at a higher price than the sticker, and another item got double scanned, which the cashier admitted to but we still needed to have a bit of a standoff to get her to call the supervisor to adjust it. It’s super embarrassing having to argue with the cashier at a dollar store, but at the same time I don’t like getting ripped off, y’know? I probably should have just pocketed one of the lighters on display next to the register and called it even.

Their craft section wasn't t the greatest but I like their aisles being large and friendly staff

Friendly & helpful staff! The store is clean & organized. Also very well stocked! Definitely better than the other locations in the city.

Needed help. Asked and was pointed to an entire isle. Couldn't find what I wanted and had to pay more at Walmart.

Something you need for any occasion? This is the store for you. Price are very, very economical.

I was there and I don't like the system manager she was rude and bit racist with me when I was shopping up there

Live stopping in at the location. Unlike the Ellice Ellice location this one is NEVER super busy which is great!

Good location, usually very well stocked and organized. Sometimes the line builds up very quickly, and they don't have enough staff to accomodate. Usually have a quick easy experience.

Not as well a stocked up as other Dollarama. Couldn't find all items needed. Had to go to another store

Add a new resident of St James I find this Dollarama understaffed and under stocked. I went today to get a bag of chips the bag of chips was $2 and I know that Safeway across the parking lot I could have got them cheaper.
I opened the bag of chips and it's nothing but crushed chips and they are the Dollarama brand of gourmet. Attached is a photo I will never buy them again.

The Dollarama on St. James near Polo Park is a great little store. They have all the standard "dollar store" items. This is a particularly good spot to buy snacks. Snacks are very affordably priced and it's more convenient to buy a few 50g bags of chips rather than a 500g bag from Costco. Given its proximity to the Scotiabank Theatre, this is a great place to pick up cheap snacks on the way to the movies.

This is the worst dollarama in the city.the shelves are always bare, they have nothing in stock you see at all the other dollarama stores. "hey, i saw this thing at the dollarama near home, maybe on my lunch break i'll pop over to the dollarama near work in madison square and pick it up. " if this is you, do yourself a favor; don't go here, they won't have it.

I love Dollarama and this location is pretty good. It's not one of the bigger stores, so selection is a bit more limited. As with any Dollarama, there's a no refunds policy, so you need to be careful what you buy. It's best for consumables; pens, paper, adhesives, drinks, etc. They also have a growing selection of crafts supplies which I appreciate. My least favorite aspect of this store are the vagrants occassionally hanging around outside.
