It was one of the occassions when I got to eat this place first time.

I head lot of stuff (Good stuff) about them from past 5 years and tonight I went with my friends.

I took the Buffet option ($30 per person) the best deal at this place.

Lets start the review of food item:
1. Beef chilly - The best ever I tried in winnipeg.
2. Butter chicken - Creamy texture and
oomphing with spices, loved it.
3. Veg rattan Korma - Just wow. Creamy, sweet flavout and cheese.
4. Beef spice curry - Again what a wonderful dish, the taste of black pepper and rich spices just makes me wanna it again.
5. Roasted chicken - It was like average (Nothing extra-Ordinary).
6. Saag (Spinach) chicken - I enjoyed it, every single bite of it. Saag is a well respected dish in indian household especially (North India, Punjab) and you cook chicken in it thats like icing on the cake.

1. Sweet Dish - Mango mousse (Wah ji wah amazing)
2. Gulab jamun - Just regular.
3.rasmlai - Exquisite.

I am planning to come here again and again and my foodie friends you should also.

I took the buffet option it worked out for me, I got to try almost all the dishes and fell in love with them.

My mouth starts watering as I am writing this review.

Food is good not spicy but could use a bit more flavors. Atmosphere is very nice feels like your sitting inside a 5star luxury place. However the black female who works there i cannot remember her name. But she is very disrespectful i felt humiliated that's the only reason why this place is getting a 1 star

It was my first time here and i am never going to come back again. Food was bland, customer service was not at all up to the mark. The server was continuously making faces whenever asked for anything, the guy on the cash was so cold didn’t even have the courtesy to say a thank you. Not going to come back forsure.

This is hands down an AMAZING Indian restaurant! I've been to over 40 different Indian restaurants across Canada and honestly, this restaurant is in my top 3 favourites across the country (possibly my favourite!). The food was fresh and flavourful and the amount of spices was just right! I had the buffet and my friend ordered from the menu and we were both very satisfied. The staff and owner were just lovely as well, very attentive and efficient. You will not be disappointed by this restaurant! It was recommended to us by our airport taxi driver and I am very pleased with his recommendation!

Just ate here and got food poisoning. Only ate 1 small plate of a few of their chicken options and immediately felt sick after. Within 30 minutes I puked up everything.

Do not go to here, This restaurant is very expensive, and food as per its pricing not worth it.
They put all sabji and charged for naan separately after spending $33 per head in Buffett.
Very bed, never going back to this eatery again.

Very poor service. Dinner buffet with uncooked rice, no cuttlery on site, unfriendly staff (don't bother for customer in rush to close buffet to go home). Won't recommend, save money, try out other great restaurants to explore in town. The most bad thing is the person given me email below in comments (he have me his email as if he will redress this issue) but, reality is he did not bother to contact me for the bad experience.

Got horrible food poisoning from overpriced ($30) buffet that tasted so bad. This place used to be so good and now it gives people explosive diarrhea.

Such a horrible experience, never going back there again - they need to improve their food quality and health standards. I am still sick 24 hours later.

The buffet has so many options of food to choose from. Love the colorful cousine. Sauces are well balanced between sweet and salty. Drinks are also tasty and the staff is very nice to customers even in high rush hours. Especially the owner is very polite. It was a nice experience eating here

The person at billing counter was rude with long hair and spectacles. This is the first time in my life when I ate buffet and had to pay for bread which was not included. The owner is a nice person was respectful.

We went yesterday near 8: 30 food was really good buffee option was too many to choose from, it was great experience from service to food just suggestion of tou can work on it dhokla was very sweet please work on that, and for the golpaa can you please try to have unsweet water as well and for stuff please can tou guys have more potato instead of having chana, as chana doesnot give that wive of eating the golgappa, if you guys can work on these option will be great, overall it was an great experience

Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and some of the nicest people I've seen at a busy restaurant, I would definitely go again.

I should start off and say we have always been a huge fan of this place! BUT… after tonight I will reconsider where we eat Indian food. We always try to eat local and this place is one we visited more than others but tonight the food was in the Hot pans too long I couldn’t even eat the rice it was so crunchy along with the lamb and butter chicken were wayyy over done because of the hot pans maybe being turned up to high. This hasn’t ever happened before… so I felt inclined to say something nicely as we don’t like to complain about our food we are just grateful to have it! So I politely told the owner (woman) that the food was burnt this time and she raised her voice with attitude and said it was not burnt and they always cook fresh. I did not argue with her as I was not looking for discount just giving honest opinion (don’t ask if you can’t handle it or won’t fix it‍️). Needless to say after seeing how her response is to her customers she clearly showed it’s not about happy customers… she even asked the lady who was checking us out if she gave discount. The girl said no and the owner with attitude said “good”…. Seriously? !? ! That’s all…

Paneer Pasanda is a must try! Can do better on the buffet for vegetarian items, service is ok too.

First time going to an Indian restaurant instead of cooking Indian food at home and it did not disappoint. Some of the best food I've ever tasted in my life and almost entirely vegetarian, which is perfect for my diet. Buffet-style for lunch was great because you get to try a little of everything they have to offer. I will definitely be back soon!

The food quality was very poor and the service was very slow. Won’t recommend anyone for buffet dinner, food was not fresh at all.

Just ordered dinner using Doordash. Let me start with the packaging.phenomenal. Dinner came in a nicely decorated paper carrier with the restaurant name. The food came with all the requested cutlery. The dinner items were all fresh, warm and yummy. Kudos to the chef and everyone that makes the magic at East India happen. Just found out that you have outlets in Montreal & Ottawa. Any chance of coming to Vancouver?

I wish a zero star option for this one.
I went there thinking that it has the best Indian food experience.
When the waiter told me that there was only buffet option and I couldn't order from the menu. I was disappointed
I was a bit crowded.
I still took up the buffet only option.
The starter for the buffet was okay.flavor was not upto the mark though.
The main was the real disappointment. I detested how everything was tasting like ghee (clarified butter)
The waiter took our drink order and did not show up for another half hour.
We had the dessert.which was the only think that made the $27 worth it.
At this point.no drinks yet.and we had to leave without any drinks.
When we canceled our drinks the waitress showed us some attitude and told us that you can go then.
On our faces. "yes sir.yes ma'am" but we could see their attitude from the reflection of the fancy mirrors they have in their ambience.
I was wondering why the crowd was there? !
Ask yourself if it is worth your pocket.before you go there.

East India Company food quality has come down. I found the rice very sticky. The chicken in some of the dishes on the buffet had too many bones in them and the food was not as fresh as the last time I went there. This review is from a guy who has often been to East India Company on previous occasions. Very disappointed. The price has also gone up. I had to change my rating from 4 stars to 1 star.

Average quality food. Nothing extra odinary.
You have to pay for nan in addition. Bit on expensive side.
Waiters are good and hardworking.

Worst plates, From last several years you ate using same plates (scratched). Food quality is not that good now, oily butter chicken, oily vegetables stuff. Don’t go for buffet trap.

Love the food and service. I have known this family since I was fifteen years old. I remember the restaurant on McDermott. This family makes you feel at home.

I just came from Toronto, and before that back home (India). So the first thing i wanted to to was to find some food that was not burger and fries. OMG - this is the place for anyone else looking for a tasty meal.and left overs too.

Just nothing short of incredible. East Indian Company shocked me in a good way with the quality and freshness of their food. Too many positive things to say, just come here and try the lunch buffet. I'm giving them 1 star for each tray of food and another star for each employee. Should be about 100 stars. This is the best buffet I've ever had.

The staff members are welcoming and efficient. The buffet has a wide selection of food, beautifully cooked, and includes gluten free and vegan dishes. It was an excellent dining experience in a setting filled with Indian art and carvings. We will be back!

Best Indian food in the city! Our group of 9 (with 3 kids) came for my wife’s birthday celebration. Blown away from the moment we walked in. Service was outstanding, and buffet selection phenomenal with salads, mains, all the fixings and desserts. Owner, Sach went out of his way to ensure our table had everything we needed and made us feel like family. Nothing overly spicy for the first timers in our group, and they loved it. For me, I added their house hot sauce to kick it up a notch and cooled things down with their raita. Everything made in house, including their cheese! 5/5 for sure, don’t miss out! Highly recommend! We will be back.

Recommend to us by the now finished Where to Eat in Canada, East India Company has such a delicious India buffet. I've had some of their food in Ottawa (their only other two locations), but I was so blown away here. Every single item was perfectly cooked and mouth-wateringly tasty. The service was excellent and they were clearly super excited to be welcoming back long-missed regulars. Highly recommend. The fish bhaji were such a surprise and SO DELICIOUS.

Excellent cultural example of both East Indian cuisine and upper-class dining in Winnipeg.

Food was prepared and presented well, and service was great.

The owners are very nice, the food is great, what more do you need to know? Check them out after you get your vaccine, you'll love it.

Salad came dry without any salad dressing. The rice was clumpy, but chicken was ok. Naan was good. Overall a disappoinment considering it was $25 for the meal.

Loved it. Non vegetarians must try Mughlai chicken and if you are a vegetarian don't forget to try Malai kofta and cheese chilli.

Good menu for a buffet. The place was a bit small but the food was good. The staff was very kind and accommodating as well.

Went there for the buffet. Everything we had was delicious. The "Chicken 67" (I believe it was called) was spicy and flavorful and all of the desserts were excellent.

I could eat the cheesy naan bread the whole time, it's that good. But then I'd be missing out on the amazing buffet. The atmosphere is beautiful as well.

One of the best buffets in the city. Great for lunch or dinner. Wide selection of food and desserts. Dinner tends to have additional specialty items which are always great. Many gluten-free options as well. Staff are always friendly and attentive.

Excellent service, good quality of food and lots of variety, we have tried buffet and a la carte here and they are best in their business. Dal makhni & Palak paneer, brought so many good memories from back home. Rasmalai was icing on the cake. In short we had a tasteful visit.

The buffet was top-notch and the service was wonderful. If going for the buffet, take tiny samples until you can try everything.as you will want to go back for more of your favourites, but you will need some "room".

The food here is very good and fresh. The butter chicken is amazing and the cheese nan alone is worth coming for. The buffet is definitely the best deal available. I highly recommend East India company.

The buffet a great way to try a variety of dishes - mild to spicy, the there's something for everyone. Don't forget to order a basket of freshly made naan!

A Winnipeg institution - all you can eat dinner Indian buffet with a vast selection of food - all of which that varies between 'delicious' to 'succulent'. Service is always fast and friendly - even when they're super busy (which is often).
Pay particular attention to the ambiance - many of the art pieces visible aren't "replica's" or recreations of things found in India. They're things FROM India, to the best of my knowledge.

Worst food I have ever eaten. I ordered Tava Chicken from the menu. The Chicken was not tender at all. Then ordered Biryani, same issue on top of that no taste at all, feels like boiled rice with uncooked chicken. Horrible food, they replaced tava chicken thrice and Biryani twice still nothing was worth eating. The Chicken used in the dishes was old and on top of that they charged $55. Worst experience, never going to this restaurant again.

Amazing! The selection is vast and so are the flavors. There is everything from mild to hot! The naan is made fresh and in so many different ways you'll be thrilled. But the must have is the Mango Lassi (sp?) It is worth the trip all one it's own!

Without doubt my favourite place to eat in Winnipeg, staff are lovely, attentive and will remember your face, atmosphere is great, and the food is fantastic. 10/10

Hands down the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. I love the Navratan korma and the blue bubblegum ice cream.

Enjoyed the buffet, they serve quality food. The mango mousse and the indian ice cream was delicious.
