Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Winnipeg

As a frequent traveler for work, I have experienced a variety of hotel brands and chains and always try to stick to a marriot property as they are consistant. I have stayed at this Fairfield Inn Winnipeg in the past, however, my latest visit was unfortunately disappointing.

The initial setback began with the check-in process. Despite scheduling a 4 PM check in days in advance, I was notified at 8 PM that my room was finally ready and to make my way to the hotel. The check-in itself was disorganized, lacking the efficiency and preparedness I expected.

Upon entering the King 2 room suite we had booked, the disappointment continued. The room felt old and dated, suffering from inadequate lighting that made it challenging to work on my laptop and finish up some work related tasks. Additionally, some of our key cards were non-functional, though this was a minor inconvenience.

The sleeping arrangements were particularly problematic. The suite, which included a king bed and a single one-person pullout sofa, left one of my children without a bed or ability to share the pull out sofa, resulting in them sleeping on the assumingly "clean" carpet floor. While the hotel staff did provide extra blankets and pillows to make this more comfortable, they were unable to provide a cot or other form of sleeping arrangements.

Communication with the hotel staff compounded these issues. After requesting to pay for an upgrade to a larger or more modern room right after we checked in, I received no response, leaving us in the same less than ideal situation.

Breakfast, which I had enjoyed during previous stays, also fell short of expectations. Both the quality and variety of food had noticeably diminished compared to even ten months ago.

An aspect that could significantly enhance the overall guest experience at Fairfield Inn Winnipeg involves updating the in-room entertainment facilities, particularly the televisions. During my stay, I noticed that the TVs were quite small, around 32 inches. While this is not a major issue, it does impact the overall enjoyment, especially for guests like myself and family who appreciate the convenience of accessing Netflix and Prime through the super easy marriot entertainment guide.

Considering the cost-effectiveness of this upgrade, it's feasible for the hotel to invest in larger TVs. The expense of a more modern, larger television is likely less than the cost of one night's stay, making it a worthwhile investment for the hotel.

While I have been a loyal patron of Marriott hotels, this experience at the Fairfield Inn Winnipeg was a letdown. The combination of poor service, outdated accommodations, and a decline in amenities has led me to decide against returning to this particular hotel in the future.

I got assaulted at this hotel and they did nothing nor cared. A random man passing me in the hall gave me a shot in the ribs. First and last there. Wax there for a funeral.

Very nice hotel, clean, tidy, comfortable rooms. Good service, delicious food and a large assortment. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in coming to Winnipeg!

Gym with stunning views of the city. There is also a swimming pool where you can have fun with your children.

This is a very good hotel: clean rooms, modern linen change! Excellent service and well trained staff. From the window of my room there was a very beautiful view of Winnipeg! Enjoyed the sunset and sunrise! Now I recommend this hotel to everyone I know!

The room was very nice and cozy, the staff is always smiling, the room is clean, and the food is prepared with love I wish the hotel and its staff all the best
