Falafel place

I didn't enjoy the food (some were greasy and salty, some were too dried) but they did give really good portions for the price. Staffs are nice and fast. This is a small family-owned restaurant so I might give them another chance to support their business and if you never try, you should come and give them a chance, I didn't like their food but you might still like it.

I have visited Falafel Place on two occasions and thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast. For a lighter fare, I suggest trying the cheese blintzes. On my second visit, I was a little more hungry and tackled the salami mix. Oh the salami was delicious. Attentive service on both occasions with pretty quick service even when busy. Busy place so you may have to wait (well worth it) Definitely recommend

Food was fantastic. Glasses were dirty and the clean replacements didn't smell that great. 5 for food, 1 for cleanliness.

Update. Went again after a long hiatus. It was much cleaner this time, the food was still amazing, but the wait time to get the food was really pronounced. I'd say the 3* rating holds. Food is still a 5 tho, if you've got the time! The breakfast brisket is divine.

I haven’t been here in probably close to 20 years. Will not be waiting that long to go again, it’s fantastic! The food is delicious. Prices are very reasonable with large portions. Our food came out very fast and it was hot and fresh upon arrival. Friendly staff and busy right up to closing. Go early, they close at 2 pm. I can’t wait to go back again. The yam hash mix with the Vegan Heaven Breakfast is to die for!

Great falafels and great service. I had the falafel breakfast and it was super yummy. Will definitely be back.

Ordered an omelette and potato pancakes, the omelette was good and the potato pancakes were phenomenal!

I have never had anything less than incredible service and amazing food here.

I've introduced many friends, coworkers, and aquaintences to this little gem over the years and they have all loved it too.

Just go. The food will do far more to convince you than I ever could.

Best falafel in Winnipeg! Great service, friendly staff, always on the ball. Never leave hungry! I love their tahini too, sooo good. Aww now I'm feeling sad because I'm writing this from Alberta and I want to go here again!

Update Oct 2022: Still love it here! One of my favorite places to eat in Winnipeg. Pity they're not open evenings!

One of the best breakfast places in Winnipeg. Was little bit disappointed on the cleanliness part but the food over shadowed it. The omelette was yummy n very well made.

Great place, you won't find Israeli type hummus this good in Israel.

Falafel breakfast was awesome! So delicious. Small little place but great service. The young lady serving us was incredibly busy but did a great job. Food was delicious!

I called the felafel place at quarter after one to see what time they were open till, they politely said 230pm I asked if my girlfriend and I were there by 2pm if we would still be able to order food they said yes. When we arrived I was surprised to see a new menu which looked very nice and presentable. The service was super unprofessional and rude the waitress said to us “ what do you want to order our cooks want to get out of here“. When my girlfriend asked if an item on the menu was vegan our waitress (that was not the poster child of health with a scattered butterfly tatoo and flower on her arm) answered: “I’m not sure what vegans eat… “and went ahead to claim a vegan item on the menu was not vegan. She did not care to check up on our table 1ce and ask how things were tasting or to offer coffee or water refills. The food was great, the service was the worst I have had in years. I do not recommend going to this Resturant.

I went to have bkf with two other friends. And two of us ordered some eggs with tomatoe spicy sauce and some pita bread on the side.

And well, our plate was extremely salty to the point that we weren’t feeling our tongue and couldn’t eat more… all we ended having was pita bread and 2 cups of coffee that took a lot to be refilled (also my cup smelled bad).

We told the waitress and the cashier about the salty food but, they didn’t even say anything to resolve or make us feel better with the service.

Conclusion: bad food and bad service

The falafel is great and the breakfast is my go to for a diner style selection. The staff are incredible and their jam is also really good. I can typically find parking on the side streets (I don't even bother to look on Corydon tbh) I would highly recommend trying this staple diner when you get the chance!

Clean, friendly staff, good food with generous portions, comfortable environment. Brisket is a bit salty but melt in your mouth tender, breakfasts options are numerous.

First time customer. Had their falafel breakfast special. I'm not a falafel or hummus fan.still not.but this was the best hummus I've had. The toppings on the potato pancakes (fried onions, garlic and banana peppers) made the meal. I'm still pleasantly full two hours later.

Saw their regular pancakes. I'm definitely going back to try those.

Phenomenal medium roast coffee.

My wife is a vegan and this is her favorite place for breakfast or brunch in the city. Their non vegan stuff is good too. Noisy atmosphere, though.

Hands down so delicious. Sometimes I get more onion in my potatoes than I would like. However, that inconsistency doesn’t bother me much.

The brisket here is phenomenal. It melts in your mouth and just explodes with umami.

The falafels are my favourite in the city. They are crispy outside and not dry inside.

The staff here are all so friendly and welcoming.

Had breakfast here for the 1st time as we are craving for middle eastern food. Their shawarma was phenomenal and my wife liked their steak and eggs. I also had Falafel breakfast which i just find very salty for our taste buds, but the briwns and eggs are awesome. It was great all in all and we will definitely come back abd brong some friends.

Used to be the best, but this last visit was a terrible experience. Waitress asked for our vacination cards and then walked away. We sat ourselves. She took our order and then forgot about us for 25 minutes. Finally brought our soup and it was not filled and was cold in spots from the microwave. Another person had to bring it out the second time and it was still cool in spots. Nobody asked how everything was and so we paid and left. Soup had an extremely sour taste to it like it was not fresh. Have had this soup here many times and it was never like this. The service was always good before this experience.

I've been a customer of this establishment for years. The food is INCREDIBLE and cheap. The menu accommodates many different diets and is highly customizable. The staff are friendly and efficient. The owner is a real character which certainly adds to the appeal. This is a Winnipeg gem. A must-try for any Manitoban.

We come here for breakfast. Love their options of GF and vegan options! Food is great! Try their potato pancakes with peppers, onions & garlic. The service is amazing! Fast, friendly and they remember us every time we come in.

Have made previous attempts to eat at this establishment but it's usually too full. This would be my first successful visit. And it it does live up to its hype. I had the eggs and brisket with extra crispy potato pancake typed with melted cheese.the brisket was perfectly flavor. Everything on this plate completed each other. I will be back again to try other menu items, in hope for a similar satisfaction.

Delicious. Had their hungry hungry breakfast meal with loaded potatoes and it was amazing, as always. Fast service and very nice atmosphere.

The food is generous and delicious! There is something for everyone, from meat-lovers to vegans. The falafels are amazing! The hummus is delicious. The potato pancakes are wonderful. There are choices of spice levels, and if you like spice, their in-house hot sauce is not to be missed! Also, they make wonderful preserves. Jams, jellies, and marmalade. The atmosphere is friendly, the decor is bright and filled with local artwork. One of our very favourite breakfast places in Winnipeg. Highly recommend!

The falafel was excellent. The shakshuka was a weird bean chili and the taboulli on the Moroccan platter was just a pile of dry couscous. Service was overwhelmed that day so we had a hard time getting cutlery and coffee refills.

Sometimes inconsistent, but I love the falafel with hummus and fries so much that I can be unhappy with them every now and again. PLEASE FALAFEL PLACE EXTEND YOUR HOURS LATER THAN 1: 30 PM

I ordered a Belgian waffle, shakshuka, chicken matzo ball soup, and cheese blintzes. Cons: the Shakshuka tasted awful and I was unable to finish and the cheese blintzes were dry and bland. Pros: the staff there was very nice, and the matzo ball soup tasted delicious.

Friendly staff, great service, delicious meals cooked on the spot. Portion sizes are always way bigger than I ever need.

Good local diner. Came in for breakfast. Got good and fast service. Very fulfilling meal with great taste. Prices were adequate for the food you're getting. Would comeback here again.

Great food, great people. There are a lot of options, and all seems delicious. The attendants are very helpful and polite. 4 stars as the place need better cleaning.

The food was fantastic. The pita are a little weird to eat, but the portions are more than enough. Fairly clean place and nice service. It would be nice to have more falafel options though.

Can't get a bad meal here. Healthy portions too, but the prices have also gone up since Julia Roberts visited. Add $ for yam hash, it is delicious.

Really enjoyed the food and interacting with the staff. They gave us a free sample as it was our first time here. Prices are reasonable. The seats could use some new uposlestery. I will return.

Fricken epic food and the portions are enough for a big dude like my self. Very filling and super tasting.
The hungry person menu option didn't disappoint and the potatoes are home style and just the right crispness.
The staff was very busy but did really well taking care of my party of 4.100% recommend and will go back.

Don't like eating in there. Love the chicken soup. Its a really broth and makes me feel better when I'm sick. The is generally excellent and salad can be small but good.

I usually go for the lamb or beef brisket platter. Huge portions of meat and everything is so flavorful. Staff are very friendly and accommodating to your dietary requests too.

Decent vegan eats. Busy AF but understandable. Wish they had vegan pancake options, "basically vegan" is not a thing, FYI lol

I have been a dine-in customer for quite some time so imagine my surprise when I saw that Falafel Place catered to the Skipthedishes crowd. I typically prepare myself for disappointment when making a delivery order from a beloved restaurant because it's difficult to replicate the magic from a dine-in experience. Falafel Place gave us a very pleasant surprise. The food was still warm (thanks in part to the delivery driver also) and very well-prepared. I can tell that the staff took great care in reading my directions. I have never had such a delicious DELIVERED poached egg in my life. I hope this Skip relationship is working out for the workers of Falafel Place because this is definitely going to be a repeat request. Thank you so much! There's so much love in the food you make and you've created a new believer in my partner. I would have posted pictures but we inhaled the food too quickly.

Everything here is unbelievably good! Best beef brisket and falafel I've ever had! Even the hot sauce is to die for! Service is top notch (not an empty glass on the table) and the portion sizes are huge! Can't recommend this place enough.

The charm of this eatery is multi faceted; the owner operator (Ami) is a warm, friendly, caring man that truly remembers you the second time you walk through the door. The menu is varied and likely capable of satisfying anybody's culinary interest. The restaurant is always clean, the service is awesome and I must say that it is one of the best cups of coffee that I have had in Winnipeg. I've had both breakfast meals and lunch meals at Falafel and the only disappointment that I have had is that I couldn't fit more food in me. Do yourself a favor take a few friends and go to Falafel and enjoy the experience.

A Winnipeg institution for a reason. One of the best breakfast joints in the city. You can get all the classics you would find in a diner as well as Middle Eastern fare. My personal favourite is the falafel breakfast. Plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and halal options as well.

My favourite falafel in the city! Super crispy and flavourful. Sometimes the pitas can have too much sauce and can get soggy but still delicious. Doesn't seem like the cleanest place but I haven't heard of any cases of food poisoning so it is probably just superficial. Overall great lunch spot.

I had the (lamb) shawarma and it was really good. The pita version was definitely not a handheld though so bring an empty stomach when you go there.

There is a saying, if a restaurant is always full of people the food must be good. Falafel place had a constant stream of people whike we were there. Being a vegetarian, it has tons of options and for my meat eating friends plenty of options as well. (no judging.ha). The service was great and we could feel the love put into this restaurant. ️

Excellent Delicious food! Service is friendly but kinda slow. Decor is a little dated but is functional and comfortable. Great place for a meal around the $8-$20/person range.

I really love this place. The food is great, the staff are friendly, the owner, Ami, has bent over backwards for my wife and I to have a good experience. The hot sauce they use is utterly delicious. If you don't like falafel, there's lots of other stuff on the menu, but you should ask for a sample of the falafel to see how wrong you are. Seriously good food.

Today was the first time for me at the falafel place. I ordered Falafel plate and Shakshwka. Flafel is a main meal in my home country. The bean. The falafel I tasted in this place is a joke. It tasted like bean. The service was so bad. The guy there gave me two very small pieces of bread. Not enough for a kid. I also orderd two things but the guy only gave me one thing. The manager (old guy) was very rude. He did not even apologize. I don't recommend this place at all. Thanks.

Eating plant-based, I've mostly had falafel here. They're perfect. Crispy on the outside but not dried out on the inside. The menu is well marked as to which dishes are gluten-free, which are vegetarian, and which are vegan. We appreciate this VERY MUCH! Yesterday was the first time we'd been for breakfast. Everything was delicious, I was still full at lunchtime, AND I had enough left over to make it a side for dinner! Also, the service was really great. They have some nice young people working there.

We recently ordered a shawarma and falafel platter. The food arrived lukewarm, missing some of the falafel, and the pita to eat with it. Worst of all, when I called they basically said "oh well sorry". Usually have a better experience, but I guess they were just done with the night.

The Falafel place is what I would consider a Winnipeg institution. You come here to have a filling meal but be warned that it isn't going to be the healthiest option. I love their brisket hash and have never been disappointed with it. When you walk in you will see worn chairs, tables, and cups. Don't be discouraged by the cover and tuck into a table and order.

I love the Falafel House. If you like Israeli or middle eastern food then definitely Falafel House is a good place with good portion size and the flavors are consistent.
