The lounge here is one of my favourite places to hang out in my neighborhood. Food and service is excellent. Friendly staff. Fish and chips is the best deal on Fridays!

It was clean, pricing fair and they had polite staff, but the worst bed I’ve ever had to sleep on! As a result made my weekend conference all the more challenging. I suppose I could’ve asked for a different bed but do they even have the option of different mattresses? Everyone has different preferences but because of this, I won’t be going back.

This was probably the worst stay I have ever had at a Marriott branded hotel and I am very annoyed I have not been given the ability to leave a verified review online but will be posting to Google at least.

Our stay started off by being a given a room that absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. A single cigarette wasn't smoked in that room. It smelled worse than some smoking rooms I have stayed in.

So we requested a move and went back downstairs. This was about the time the elevators stopped working and keycards from multiple guests didn't work. We received a different room and went up the 4 flights of stairs to get to it. Got to the room, only one key card worked, went to open the door and opened it up into the interior latch being engaged. I was thoroughly confused and called our, "Hello? " And to my shockwas answered. We had almost walked into the room of another couple. We talked with that couple and both of us apologized profusely and headed back downstairs together. Finally we were given a third room now (the elevators still didn't work despite being told they had been fixed). We ended up in a two queen which is not what we had wanted having booked a single king. The carpet in the room has rolled up in the middle and I tripped on it in the night as well.

We went to the pool and found the bathroom was a single bathroom, unable to be locked, and did not have a change room area. We had been told there were full change rooms and had asked about robes and were told "everything is there". The bathroom is also covered in rust and has the feel of a dated public pool bathroom. The whirlpool did not work either. It was warm but would not activate the jets and the button to activate the jets felt broken.

Overall I expect better from a Marriott/Sheraton. I have stayed at Marriotts all over the world and this was by far not up to the expectations of the brand.

Our "compensation" was being given complimentary breakfast which is only a $30 voucher. We were verbally told that I would receive a points rebate from all the many failures of this hotel and staff. That has not happened. Again, funny that I was not sent a customer satisfaction survey for the first time and can't leave a verified review on Marriott.

Overall, I wouldn't spend money here and am SO thankful I used Marriott points for this New Years Eve stay. But even then I feel ripped off by my stay and should have booked one of the other Marriotts.

Its a pretty easy to spot location, the staff here are friendly, and the rooms look quite clean at first glance. Wifi here is terrible (I keep getting 1 bar in and out) and the room im placed in I don't have a view of my car and truck. But that's not what made me give a 3/5. It happens, we were just a bit unlucky with where our room faced and maybe wifi was just off today. However I wish I saw the reviews before we booked. After having a long 8hr drive from thunder bay all I wanted was to take a nice shower, from the past reviews the owner seems to be very defensive so I thought I'll come prepared before writing this review. This is gross, the more I looked the more I became uncomfortable. For a Marriott/ Sheraton I expected more. I had such a great experience from the holiday Inn in thunder bay and wasn't expecting such a bit of a disappointment here. I think the photos speak for itself.

Never stayed here, but I've ordered from the restaurant a couple times and it has always been A+. Their chicken and waffles are so delicious and the portion with the hashbrows are worth it alone!

This is a dodgy place. The only thing that is as good as it looks is the reception and restaurant areas. The rooms are terrible. We had to change them several times to get a decent one. You go to your room and the smell of smoke is unbearable, the heating system is too loud, and the space is so small that you have to wedge your seat in the tiny space between the desk and bed.
Considering the contrast between the lobby and the disgusting rooms, I had the feeling that this place is meant for gambling (they have slot machines in the bar) not for staying in. We thought it's worth staying in for the location but we lost that bet. It would have been more fun to gamble our money away than waste it (and ruin our vacation) by staying here.
Place should be renamed "No Point" hotel.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL NIGHTMARE. I have been a loyal Sheraton customer and stayed at Sheraton hotels for the past 20 years all over the world. My stay at this dilapidated hotel with shockingly rude management was appalling and ruined Christmas. My wife and I had to move rooms 3 times because of either noisy old heaters making it impossible to sleep, or cigarette smoke smells so strong they made us nauseous. On the night of December 23rd 2022 the poorly maintained fire alarm system went off at midnight and then again around 3am, forcing guests out into -30c weather. When we complained to the manager he became threatening, aggressive and extremely hostile. We will never stay at a Sheraton again: Apparently their new instruction to managers is to bully and blame customers for their own incompetence. I am sure you will see the truth of this review when Management responds by again blaming and villifing the customer, instead of taking responsibility or apologizing. What a disgrace to the Sheraton brand.
