French Way Café

We came in as usual, put our name for the wait list, where we were only ones at the time. Few more groups arrived after.
One of the tables became available and the person who arrived after us and checked in with the same server went staring for that table, while the same server was cleaning it and did not care to intervene. Then server approached us and told us to decide if we want to share the table with that person or we can ask them to leave (all next to that person), when we indicated that we should not be put in the spot like that he just left without apologizing showing his frustration.

Weird flex but they have really good napkins and one of my favourite chicken sandwiches in Winnipeg.

A little frustrated that the menu on their website isn't the same as in restaurant - different eggs benedict options and prices have increased - 17.95 for their cheapest benedict option instead of 14.95. Coffee was super hot, but food was only lukewarm when it came. Taste was ok, but nothing special. Hollandaise sauce seemed kind of flavorless unfortunately. Not badly priced with how inflations brought everything up, but for over $20 for breakfast (eggs benedict+coffee), definitely not as good as I'd expected.

Friendly staff, quick service, and beautiful presentation though.

On crutches for a knee injury and the setup of the location wasn't very accessible (no ramp, only stairs and kind of narrow walkways inside), which was a bit disappointing.

Frenchway cafe is our go to spot for breakfast. Everything is delicious, and given the quality of the food I’d say you get pretty good value for what you’re paying.

Their bakery is unbelievable. Everything is amazing. Their lemon tart is one of my favourites!

Came with a friend for breakfast since she had an apt near this place. Nice little place, the food was good, I had the turkey brie crepes, I could only ate one of them it is so filling. When you arrived it says to wait to be seated but you actually seat yourself, the wait staff is so so, not that friendly. We came in the middle of the week by 830ish and by the time we left by 10am there was a line up at the door so very popular place, however, not once we felt rushed to leave. The dessert display looked great and brought a massive bread pudding and chocolate croissant. The bread pudding was moist and lots of fruits in it. The coffee was okay. Overall good experience, the crepes price was onpar with other restaurants prices.

Turkey club was delicious and very flavourful got the mushroom garlic soup of the day as the side, didn’t have much flavour, wouldn’t get again. Eggs Benedict special was good, not a huge fan of the mint they put on top, the hash browns that come with it are bomb! Service was a little slow, had to ask a few times for coffee refills and took almost 45 minutes for the food, seemed they were short staffed. The patio was a cute little spot to enjoy our breakfast. We’ll be back.

Cute little cafe just off Corydon. There was lots of seating and parking right beside the building. I tried the Spec-taco-lar burger (bean burger) which was really good. The combination of flavors worked well. I also tried the fruit tart which was okay, but the tart shell was overcooked and hard. Definitely would come back here to grab a bite and coffee with a friend.

It's so unorganized in there, its like the staff has no idea what to do. Pastries aren't labeled at all and when you ask questions the servers act like it's such a hassle to explain or they don't even know what they are serving. I got some cold chicken spinach thing and was told it had pesto. Like, don't guess if you don't know.

Worth living within walking distance for. Will never say no to going for brunch, especially for the pharaoh’s breakfast. They’ve really stepped up their pastry game too in the last 6 months - very French, very fancy, very delicious.

I went for the first time in November, then went back three days later to order the exact same meal because I could NOT stop thinking about how delicious it was. Everything I’ve tried since has been incredible!

The staff I’ve engaged with have all been so lovely and friendly, even when they’re incredibly busy. The sweets and pastries are fantastic and it’s so fun to look at them all in the display at the counter!

I love the variety of art that’s on display, and for sale! It’s very fun to look at the pieces while enjoying your meal, it all felt creative and interesting. Lots of good conversation pieces, I really loved that aspect of the physical space itself.

They also collect donations for local women’s centres (or possibly women’s shelters specifically, I can’t remember). I asked someone behind the counter about where the donations go since they didn’t have a specific location listed, and they explained that they distribute donations to several resources in the area. It’s great to see a local business taking that initiative and very cool that staff are engaged with it enough that they can answer questions and have a conversation about it, I really appreciated that.

Can’t wait to go back again soon!

Great food and good service. Definitely going again. The best croissants so far I had in Winnipeg.

Rating only the croissants that we bought. There were lots of people eating breakfast on a Sunday morning, so I presume food is excellent.

Haven't seen anyone mention this, but they sell fairly inexpensive, great tasting bread as well.

Super cute little Cafe just off Corydon. The food was delicious and the staff excellent. Definitely worth checking them out! I will be back

They make amazing French pastries - especially their stuffed croissants, butter tarts and fruit tarts! You also got to try their Dillionaire Sandwich. Delicious!

It's really a nice little place. Service, food and atmosphere were great. Had the Turf Eggs Benedict, and they were fantastic. 1st time there and looking forward to visiting again.

Good food. Farm fresh eggs and good tasting breakfast meats. In house bakery with delicious bread and baked goods options. Service can be hit or miss. Limited seating.
