How many home renovation contractors do you know that will fix a problem that develops several years in, at no additional cost? I don't know of any.except this one!

As for sunroom repair and maintenance knowledge, Arnie is second to none! He conveys a positive vibe the minute you meet him. He knows this stuff backward, forward and sideways.

These guys may not be the cheapest, but they are probably the best.

We have been lucky enough to own two glastar sunrooms. After installation customer service is the best. Arnie and Keenan just came and did minor adjustments, we only called yesterday. Beautiful product, amazing service.

I required a screen door pull replacement for my 2004 Sunroom. Glastar kindly supplied me with a free replacement. Great service and super friendly staff. Thank you very much. Pull was reinstalled, fits exactly, looks great and works perfectly. Sunroom is almost 20 years old and still looks and functions great. A testament to the quality and durability of these products. Great job Glastar.

From step 1-through to completion, every person from Sunshade was so helpful. Dana was the installer and so meticulous and so conscientious, while putting the sunroom together, as if he was building it for himself. WELL DONE, WE LOVE OUR NEW SUNROOM! The wait of a year was well worth it. The company was so busy with bookings that it took awhile to get our sunroom. Absolutely love the space. We’re in it more than the main house…. Even as the cooler weather is now coming at night making it cool first thing in the morning a small heater is more than enough to warm it up. Would tell anyone who’s thinking about doing/ getting a sunroom - go for it. Best money we ever spent!

Sending a huge thank you to Glastar for our beautiful sunroom. It has easily become our most favourite room in the house and so far, rain or shine, it is where we are spending all our time. Brad was absolutely wonderful to work with and the entire process was made easy and painless. We could not be more happy with how everything turned out - our only regret is that we didn’t do it years ago. Everyone needs one of these rooms! You have our highest recommendation!

We bought our Glasstar sunoom in 2008. In the last few years it became slightly un levelled. I emailed Galstar. I came home Monday & our sunroof was all levelled. Doors sliding perfectly.

We use the sunroom every day if there is no snow on the ground. We were & continue to be very happy with our Glasstar sunroom & recommend it to friends. Now we're even happier with the outstanding service even after 13 years.

Had a sunroom built by them once, on a home we lived in for 29 years. Having another one installed again, after we downsized. Great people. Great product.

I can’t endorse this company enough. Without going into detail, I had a situation that required a big schedule change and a lot of moving things around on their end. Not only were they empathetic, but they truly went above and beyond to facilitate.

Ultimately the sunroom is fantastic and the product they have is great / you won’t find any better. However, more important to me was that this company demonstrated heart and took care of what will now be a lifelong customer and ambassador.

Unfortunately, I must submit the following review of my sun-room. The employees did their jobs well however my sun-room gets so hot that it is virtually impossible to use on sunny summer days.
Other consumers may want to know what they might possibly expect and/or experience.

My sun-room (12 ft. X 14 ft.   $20,000) is on the north-east corner of my home. Plugs, lights, in-wall heater, patio door, landing and stairs down to the back yard were additional expenditures, not included in the amount stated above, which I had done by my own contractors.

My room was completed mid-August, 2018. I have been experiencing these issues for 2 summers.

In summer, in the morning, my sun-room heats up to 35 to 40 degrees Celsius  (90 to 100 Fahrenheit), through the eastern, single pane windows.  Once the sun hits the east windows, the room can quickly get to 10 to 15 degrees C.hotter than the outside temperature. I cannot use it from late morning until evening on sunny days. I can use it if it is cloudy. I am unable to cool the room down, even with all screens fully open and fans blowing.

In spring and fall, I can use the room. The useable time changes quickly from week to week.

Initially, I was told to purchase 2 pedestal fans and when that did not help, I also purchased 2 large box fans.   I also purchased room darkening, heat reflective curtains. My ceiling is too low for a ceiling fan.

I was told to plant narrow trees on the east side.   I have only 6 ft.between the sun-room and the fence. These 2 trees will take several years before affording me some shade.

The screens are 1/3 of each of the 3 walls, from floor to ceiling.   A friend with 1/2 of each wall screened says her room cools down when she opens the screens.

Shortly after construction, I had been told that applying heat reflective  “window film”  (“window tinting”) is discouraged and damages the windows.  Perhaps this was a misunderstanding.if I would have attempted on my own to install a window film product.

Since that time, contractors, handymen and friends have told me that window film helps. ​Estimates state that this will cost anywhere between $400 to $1000 for my 3 eastern windows.   Perhaps it would be beneficial to expand services to install window film, if needed, as a part of the sun-room package.

I am frustrated.   I have a spring and fall room which can be used somewhat during these 2 seasons.

The company tells me that I am the only person in Winnipeg to have this problem.   My situation does not meet the criteria of the Better Business Bureau. The Consumer Protection Office cannot assist either.

I will follow Glastar's suggestions to leave a window slightly open for air circulation and to create a wind tunnel by opening 2 opposite windows. The company has also agreed to replace the bottom 1 ft.tall glass panels with aluminum ones.

I will continue to work with the company and update this review as my room becomes more functional.

I have a Glastar Sunroom that was installed 20 years ago. We started to notice a gap in the door due to shifting and called to see if they had any advice. They booked a service call and came right out to help me get it lifted so everything is square again. I would highly recommend Glastar.

We purchased our Glastar sunroom in spring of 2020 and it was completed just before summer. I can truly say the only regret is not having done this sooner. Winnipeg is known for mosquitoes, especially in the evenings. Prior to the sunroom, sitting outside was difficult. The sunroom changed everything. It provided nice shade during the day and gave us a great place to sit late into the evenings. We love the ability to sit “outside” even when it is warm and rainy. The quality and attention to detail was excellent and we have not had any leaks. One thing I would recommend to anyone considering a sunroom is don’t make it too small. The cost will be long forgotten, but a sunroom that is too small will always cause regret. Our sunroom is 20x12 and a perfect size. We can relax and have meals in it without feeling crowded. A big thanks to Glastar and the workers that built it.

We moved into a house several months ago that had a Glastar sunroom that was 9 years old but still in excellent condition. We LOVE it and spend A LOT of time in it. Coffee every morning, lots of dinners, socializing with friends. So nice to feel like you are outdoors but not have to worry about the bugs. However, possibly due to the extremely dry weather lately, we woke up a couple days ago and found that it had shifted away from the house on one side around the ceiling by at least a full inch. We called Glastar and they said that a service person would be by to fix it for free in the next couple of weeks. Arnie showed up today (much sooner than expected) and spent several hours under the sunroom, making sure everything was in good working order and fixing the tilt in the room. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and he went above and beyond to help make future adjustments even easier. We were very happy with the customer service we received from Glastar, especially considering we were not direct customers. I would give a sixth star if it were possible.

The people I met at this business did the motto "friendly Manitoba" proud. When my dog crashed into my elderly parents-in-law's porch screen, damaging it, the folks at Glastar were accommodating and completed repairs on the spot when we brought the damaged piece to their shop. They did it with a smile and without any wrangling - no questions asked. As I was just swinging through town I was worried that it would be a hassle but the good people here made the experience totally stress-free. Great customer service! I wish I lived in the Peg so that I could give them my business!

We have been extremely pleased with the Glastar Sunroom we purchased from SunShade Products in 2014! During the summer, we spend more time in the sunroom than anywhere else in the house.

Before selecting a contractor, we had checked around the neighbourhood with other area residents who had this type of sunroom. Three other homeowners reported that they had been extremely pleased with SunShade and recommended that we deal with them.

The sales representative that we dealt with was pleasant and professional, and he responded honestly to all of our questions. The management and installation crew were flexible and responsive to our needs.

In June 2020, six years after the purchase and construction of our sunroom, we experienced our first issues. These were related to levelling.

I called and spoke to a representative, explained the issue and asked for help. Their service person, Arnie, attended a few days later and corrected the problem. Having met Arnie, I must say he is an ideal example of a service representative to deal with customers and resolve their concerns.

Best of all, SunShade provided this service call six years after the original installation, and did not charge me to correct the issues of concern.

I am absolutely loving my 8x12 sunroom.
& 3 tier deck. I get sun from south in the AM
& afternoon setting sun all afternoon into eve.
It sure retains heat. Loving it.

Glastar installed our sunroom a few years ago. We chose tham after much research and have never been sorry. They provide quick attention for any assessment and work.
