Golden Boy Bistro

Got two chicken burgers and the golden boy Burger and a poutine. So let me start off by saying the food is really good, but the reason for the 3 star rating is because the chicken burgers. They were well done skimpy on the toppings, had 2 little pieces of romaine lettuce, one tomato two pickles. The flavor was great. The golden boy Burger the flavor was good.well seasoned. It had a nice char on the Burger Patty, but the patty was absolutely disgusting. The texture was awful. It's like they took it and put it in a food processor and ground the meat until it was a fine paste, then they made it into a burger. I don't know if it was too much filler or if the meat was ground too much. It's like I was eating a tuna pate burger. The poutine, the fries were great. The gravy was good, very limited on cheese. Very skimpy again on the toppings. I would go back there again for the chicken and fries.
But I would not recommend getting a burger.

I took my boys for lunch today after hearing from so many neighbours that we had to go try the delicious food here. Can confirm: everything was fabulous, and the owner is super, super nice. Highly recommend!

Burger was good, very pricey! Charged $2 23 for a juice box. Not a fan of sweet pickles on the burgers. Friendly staff.

From the moment we walked in til the moment we walked out the service was absolutely the best. The guy who runs the place was the best in suggesting what to eat and asking how hot my son wanted his Butter Chicken Poutine. Food was fantastic and so delicious as I had the chicken strips with homemade dill sauce and tasted my sons meal. Oh my gosh what a treat. I even had some leftover chicken to take home as the portions were great. Thank you for such great service, food and taking time to talk with us. Looking forward to going back and trying something else

Best surprise restaurant in Winnipeg! Completely unassuming, but amazing burgers, fries, and chicken fingers. You can tell the owners care about the quality of their food - and the price point was excellent! You absolutely need to check this place out. 5 stars from me - rivals best burgers in Winnipeg.

Nikhil is very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Alot of his food and sauces are homemade. He is very passionate about his recipes and the quality of food he serves. His butter chicken is amazing! (You can decide your own spice level). He gave us a little sample of a his homemade lemonade and his garlic sauce.very tasty. You can definitely tell he loves to create fabulous food! I will go back again and again and again!

The establishment is clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and guests are promptly served.

The products he uses are of high quality, the chicken pieces are fresh and juicy, but unfortunately the French fries are too salty for my taste.

There are small improvements that could be made, but I do recommend it

Nice homemade lemonade too

The food here is unbelievably good. I got the bacon burger which was absolutely delicious, my daughters got the chicken fingers, which were literally the best chicken fingers I have ever had.
The owner was also super nice and courteous.
We will absolutely be coming back again!

The old blondies location. Nice to be able to walk in and not see all the neg graphitie on walls. Nice and clean, food was hot and good fries were crispy and also hot. Owner is very friendly.

Such a wonderful place. We had hamburgers and fries.everything so fresh and delicious. Patties not over seasoned and fries were perfectly crisp. Owner does everything and is super friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Great food! The burger was delicious (beef patty’s made fresh everyday from scratch says the owner). Chicken fingers we’re excellent as well. Not dry very juicy and crispy on the outside! Honey dill made in house as well! You must try this spot!

Tried “Blondies 2.0” and was not disappointed. The inside of the restaurant has a new paint job but otherwise hasn’t changed much. The food is what you’re going for and as my husband says “if you want a proper burger with lettuce, tomato & pickles” this is the place for you”. I’ll apologize prior to posting my pics, as the Mushroom Swiss Burger I had, looked so good when it arrived, I bit into it before taking the picture. Real mushroom’s, none of that canned junk. We both got the platter which includes fries and a drink and we’re not disappointed with flavour, amount of food or pricing.
Cheers to the start of a new legacy on the corner of Main & Newton. We will definitely be bringing our family back for more!

This place was absolutely delicious! We shared a classic burger with all the fixings and a basket of chicken fingers with fries. The beef patty was definitely homemade and seasoned perfectly. The pickles were not the standard dill flavour and a great addition (and I don’t usually like pickles in my burger). The chicken fingers were so tender and juicy and the homemade honey dill sauce and garlic sauce were AMAZING! Plus, the customer service was top notch! The owner is super friendly and a pleasure to chat with. He was so welcoming and really takes pride in providing his customers with high quality menu items. Can’t wait to try more! We are definitely making this place one of our go to burger joints. If you haven’t tried Golden Boy Bistro yet, YOU MUST! So glad that Blondie’s was replaced by an equally good (if not BETTER) restaurant ️

Best fries I have ever had.
Golden Boy Bistro is an old-school classic diner that really cares about their food. I tried their chickpea salad and found it tasty and filling. I was a classy dish that was better than you will find at most restaurants. They have a proper milkshake machine for the summer months, with the stainless steel cups.
Above all they have amazing French fries. Crispy and light with a subtle seasoning, nothing at all like those awful double-dunked gloppy fries that some places offer. No, these fries are cooked at a precise temperature in clean oil so they come out perfectly golden-brown. I have not had anything them before.
The proprietor was friendly and spoke with pride about his fare.
I have been back many times and would recommend.
