Gongcha 贡茶 (Bubble Tea) Osborne

I won't lie, this is one of my favorite boba places in Winnipeg, and I've been here hundreds of times. The pearls and tea are good quality and made frequently. There are 3 reasons I'm knocking them down: 1, there is no vegan milk tea (no option to substitute plant milk), so as a vegan my options are very limited here. 2, they pay their workers a paltry (minimum) wage, meanwhile the workers are expected to churn out hundreds of drinks on busy nights. 3, they don't bother to take basic actions on sustainability, like letting you bring your own cup or composting their organic waste. I used to bring my own cup, but it became too difficult because the workers would sometimes accept it and sometimes say it's not allowed. Please take action to be a more progressive business and care for the community.

Delicious boba with so many flavours to choose from, and they're all absolutely delectable from what I've tried from my manh visits there

Absolutely disgusting Goncha branch. Lazy staff/owners with undercooked pearls and jelly of every kind. Save your $$$ and go elsewhere! I would never try Goncha again!

Awesome bubble tea in the village! So many options, and I really appreciate that you can choose how sweet your drink is and how much ice you want. My go to is the oat milk tea with bubbles - mm! They are always very welcoming and friendly when we go in as well!

Absolutely amazing bubble tea. This was really my introduction to non-slush bubble tea and it was a fantastic way to start.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They make fantastic suggestions either about toppings to add or of drinks to try based on what you like. I love that it's open late so I can fulfill my late night craving.

My current favourites are the Earl Grey 3J and the Panda Milk Foam (pictured). Delicious!

I'll start by saying that the tapioca balls were awesome, best I have had. My taro smoothie, however was bland, and was so poorly blended that it was filled with big chunks of ice and taro which ruined the whole thing.

Probably the grossest bubble tea I've ever tried. I've tried happy lemon, panda tea, chatime, ten ren, Asia city, Khab and this by far did not taste good. Would like to give it another chance but the taro Redbean bubble tea was nasty and very watered down. The gong cha in Calgary was pretty good BUT in Winnipeg the quality sucks!

My favorite milk bubble tea in the city. I've tried milk tea at almost every place in the city and this one has me hooked hands down. Unfortunately Parking in Osborne is a bit stupid and there is no lots behind the place so your gambling with street parking.

Delicious, quick service; they help you navigate the menu. A little warm - might not have air conditioning. There's a small patio though.

GONGCHA is finally here in Winnipeg! I love their panda milk tea foam so much.the gongchan standard in Winnipeg is as good as Singapore!

I absolutely loved this place! The staff were super nice, gave us suggestions and some free samples since this was our first time. The tea was also really good, and they even have the option for choosing the sugar level. The area is the place is also very cute, the interior is well lit and the outside tables are overlooking Osborne. 10/10 I’ll definitely be coming back! (My photo doesn’t do the place justice)

Lots of options. Very authentic bubble tea if you are tired of the slushy-style bubble tea you always get from most bubble tea place in the city.

Love the white bubble! Minus one for star for the location. It is hard to find the parking lot on thw street near the store, especially on weekends!

A perfect place to order a bubble tea and get some relax with frirends. Good service and good quaity. I love their bubble tea so much!

They're bubbles are pretty good and lots of flavor options on the menu. Tried their new mango bubbles and it was more of a jelly than a tapioca, which I'm not mad at.

I didn't like what I got but that's because I realised I do not like milk foam. I did however like my friend's winter melon tea

Great atmosphere, bubble tea was fantastic and the staff was very friendly, along with highly customizable drink orders. The only downside is the very high prices.

I ordered the milk tea w/ grass jelly and it was what I expected! It was good, but the only problem was finding the shop, as it’s on the second level. Service was good too, the gentleman explained to me how they did their slush.

The signage is pretty vague unless you’re looking specifically for this place.

Try the QQ Passion Tea or the Lemon Wintermelon tea. Great addition to Winnipeg!

Edit: Due to the prompt response and clarification, changed from 3 stars to 5 stars. Understandable that they closed early because of the cold, good to see a place that cares about their employees.

Original review: Great bubble tea, but please stick to your posted hours! We arrived at 10: 05 pm to a posted note saying "closed at 10 pm today". Disappointing to make a trip all the way to Osborne Village for the store to be closed early.

Taste is not the same with what i've tasted with Gong Cha from other countries. This is one of my fave milk tea place but sadly not with this branch: (
