Habanero Sombrero

Love that they are dedicated gluten free! Makes me feel very safe as someone with a gluten allergy. I tried the chicken, shrimp, and fish tacos. The fish taco was by far the best, definitely have that if you give them a try! The others I would say aren’t worth the steep prices, but I’m from the states and used to very flavorful, authentic Mexican food.

This place is incredible! The nachos are to die for! The portions are huge and one plate easily feeds 3. And I say that as 2 fat and sassy people who could not finish the plate. 100% recommend! And always take people here who are visiting! Great job guys!

I will always get habanero when at the forks! It’s soo nice to eat something you know is safe (gluten free) and I love love love their chicken quesadilla!

Great food! Great staff! As someone with celiac disease it is a rare find in Winnipeg to have a dedicated gluten free menu and kitchen and I greatly appreciate this. The fact that the GF food is super tasty is awesome.

Good place to eat. Food has a more Tex-Mex touch rather than actual Mexican food. Still everything was delicious as well as the service.

Wow.the nachos are awesome! We've been regular taco visitors for over a year but things just changed. We will dream of these until we come back again. Try them!

Loved the food, i usually get stomach pain right away from even gluten free food and this food here was so good, easy on my stomach as well. Will be coming back for sure.

Overall good. Next time will make use of the hotsauces that they have out which you can help yourself to. I had 3 tacos. The shrimp, chicken and steak. Was expecting it to be a bit more flavourful.

I’d give this place a zero if I could Never again! Be careful going to this resto. After spending several hours there the wait staff who was anxious to leave early called the police claiming we had drank all day when in fact these two weren’t even present and did not serve us. I was stopped by 4 RCMP and given multiple road side breathalyzer tests all of which came back fine and instead of telling me why I was stopped the officers lied and claimed I failed to signal but I was already in a private parking lot. (gas station) and didn’t make any turns.when placed in the back of the cruiser the officer forgot to close the computer screen which said that myself and my boyfriend spent the day boozing it up at the Mexican restaurant and then drove off. Slanderous! Not my boyfriend and after half a glass of beer x2 over 8 hours and lots of food and dessert this was an awful experience. Next time we will take our $300 and spend it where it will be appreciated. In the meantime, we plan to speak to a lawyer over how we were treated because of this resto’s false claims. Never will we visit here again and we will make sure we tell everyone we know not to go here!

The beef and pork taco were great, and the chips were good but the salsa was really underwhelming.

I've been to Habanero Sombrero twice since randomly trying new restaurants. I was very nicely surprised with the quality of the food. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation and excellent customer service.

The best tacos I’ve ever had! Every time I want to try something new from The Forks but I can’t bring myself to- they are unreal!

Had the chicken quesadilla today and OMG was it ever good! Friendly staff, big portions (yay for leftovers!) And decent pricing! Very tasty! I will be back!

My family decided to have supper at the Forks market. We loved the food from Habanero sombrero. The food was delicious (chorizo taco, fish taco, and nacho platter) The whole menu is gluten-free! This is important and rare for most restaurants.
We will definitely be eating here again

Went there during pride was amazing food even with the crowd we were served fast and tacos sure deserve a prize my man devoured them!

Tacos were tasty good size and decent price for the forks. My only complaint is you get literally ONE leaf of cilantro. I asked for extra cilantro and got TWO leaves. I wouldn’t go back be sure I need a good taste of cilantro on all my Mexican food!

Excellent tacos and the soup is sooo tasty! We contacted them for a large order for my company and the price and food was great!

Amazing tacos that remind me of Mexico and what a REAL taco should taste like! The tortillas are fresh, the beef is tasty and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend!

Disgusting. Tried chicken, pork, and fish taco. Chicken was bland, slightly cold, dry and disgusting (tasted old) the pork was dry and bland, and the fish was horrid, I couldn't even finish it. Some of the worst tacos I've tried in the city. Don't waste your money here.
