Holiday Inn Winnipeg - Airport West, an IHG Hotel

No continental breakfast for price was disappointing and name suggests it's close to airport, but it's a 30min car ride. Wouldn't bother stayjng here if flying in. Rooms were nice though

Beds are really hard. Did not sleep well because of this. Our server at the bar was awesome. The place was clean.

Excellent kids' destination! The waterpark and play area were great. Rooms were average, elevators were excellent

We ended up booking during a city wide festival, so the hotel was fully booked! Fortunately for us, the hallways and rooms were quiet, day and night! We enjoyed a peaceful stay and will definitely stay there again next time we're in Winnipeg.

The rooms are outdated. I’m not a fan of the sliding door for the washroom. We had the two queen beds room. The Play area for the kids were great. They have staff in the area all the time, which makes it a safety thing. The wrist band they provide you is a little prehistoric, but I understand why. We had breakfast at the restaurant, and it was pretty great. The servers were very kind and the food was hot and fresh. There’s basement parking, which is pretty secure and straight forward. Location is awesome. Close to a shoppers and Boston pizza. I will return to this hotel. I would just say they need to update the rooms.

The rooms are dated and not nearly as nice as the online photos show. The pool area is great for kids. Be warned that the drink vending machines do not accept coins at all despite having a coin slot. There is a sign with fine little print on the side but you would think the ethical and proper thing to do would be to cover the slot with a large thick sticker or something. I lost $3.25 for a pop I never even got and despite pressing the coin return, it just kept my change. Telling the front desk basically resulted in the 3 staff members snickering and saying it's not their machine and I'm just put of luck. If they want cashless machines, make sure people don't just get robbed out of their hard earned cash like that.

IHG Club Member. Stayed here for two nights with our small children during our trip to the Winnipeg zoo. Location was great - close to everywhere we needed to be. Lots of parking!
Check-in and reception was satisfactory, we received the room preferences we requested. When we got to the room though, I wasn't pleased to see the walls scuffed up throughout the room and coffee stains - I really wanted to take a magic eraser to the room - made the room seem unclean. Our phone was not working, so we didn't order room service. Beds and bedding were comfortable, had a good rest. However, lots of traffic noise - would highly recommend a higher floor to lessen it like we did. Loved the full-size Dove products in bathroom.
We enjoyed having breakfast both days at their Birchwood Restaurant, service was friendly and food was superb! Very generous portions, we didn't need lunch. Remember to grab the kids eat free passes from the front desk before sitting down at the restaurant!
Salt-water pool/hot-tub and pirates playground were highlights for our children and much appreciated attractions after a long day out and about.
Overall, would recommend and stay again!

Generally OK hotel. Pros: Reasonably priced, rooms are comfortable and super clean. Noise insulation in rooms is impressive with exception of the noise caused by the locking mechanism of vault-like room doors. Hotel staff generally friendly and helpful. Complimentary basement parking. Good gym. Cons: It’s one of those hotels with an indoor waterpark, which means the hotel in general has this constant chlorine smell everywhere. It also means the hotel attracts a somewhat rowdy clientele. Lighting in bathroom was poor making it very difficult to shave or apply make up etc. A shaving/vanity mirror would have also helped considering the counterspace around the sink was extremely large, thereby making it difficult to lean forward to look closely in the mirror.

This place is great! Stayed here for 10 nights for work. First I literally booked my stay 15 minutes prior to arriving as I was booked in a different hotel that smelled like smoke and mildew. They were able to immediately find me a room for the extended stay. There are several restaurants and stores within walking distance. The hotel offers free parking and shuttle to the airport
Staff was very friendly and professional. Beds super comfortable with option for soft or hard pillows. As someone who cares about reducing plastic waste, I was happy to see that they offer large bottles of shampoo and conditioner and even body cream. Now if all hotels can replace the single use coffee cups I will be very happy.

Well where to start ' there is blood on my sheets from bed bugs 'rugs were dirty staff was rude. I called front desk to ask for wrist bands to use pool and was only allowed one for me because I did not register my guests. I payed for 5day stay I'm on business travel monthly so after not even being here I cannot Even take the time to swim or enjoy hot tub my one day I have time. I will not be back and will take my monthly business stays elsewhere.

The restaurant downstairs is good, but everything else is pretty subpar. During the night I stayed, a super loud fire alarm went off late in the evening (around 10pm), and it took the hotel at least an hour to shut it down. Additionally, the location of this hotel is about 8.5km away from the airport, so I'm not sure how this Holiday Inn can be called 'Airport West' even remotely, as it's nowhere near the actual airport.

I didn't spend the night here, but I did attend an all-day meeting. The meeting room was comfortable, the lunch was fantastic, and the staff were excellent.

This hotel has many amenities for business and leisure travel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are neat and clean. An added bonus is it is walking distance to my favourite sushi joint in Winnipeg. Great place to stay!

We have stayed here several times in the past have always enjoyed our stay. The staff are super friendly and helpful and will do their best to solve any issues you may have. We ended up with a suite on this trip and the room was fantastic.

Nice clean hotel. I am sure the extras it has are also great, but I did not use them.
I had the unfortunate experience of reading both “airport shuttle” and “free parking” along with AIRPORT being in the name and thinking this was a hotel I could stay at before an early flight. I did call before I booked and asked about the shuttle - was told yes.
When I arrived to check in and inquired, I was told there wasn’t a shuttle. They offered a cab fair to the airport BUT I couldn’t leave my car. So - I guess I needed to ask that when I called about the shuttle. But who offers a shuttle and doesn’t offer to park your car on site? Anyway, lesson learned.
I checked Google and the Website. Still says airport shuttle and free parking, website does say to call about the shuttle (which I did).
Had it not been midnight maybe I would have asked for a refund and just slept in my car, but I was so tired about my 6 hour drive and really needed a shower.
Bed was comfy. Keurig coffee maker in the room was nice. Bathroom was bright and clean.

If you enjoy listening to noisy air units, loud vehicles and squealing tires all night then this is the place for you. All this fanciness and it's by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Writing at 2am as I listen to the Same vehicle drive up and down portage for the last 15 mins. Absolute b.s.

My Winnipeg home away from home. Pleasant and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, sports pub to lounge in and a children’s play area complete with pool, hot tub and climbing play structure.

Room had air conditioning that did not work, notified front desk, I don’t think they even attempted to fix it.

Free Breakfast for kids isn’t Free, requires parents to spend $20 first, at least what we were told, probably because we’re Indigenous, we were told that.

Disappointing hotel to stay at, for my family.

The inputs on the TV are semi-blocked by the TV mount. Be sure to bring the fire stick wired plug. To plug it in to the TV, you can just manage it in.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and it has always been great. We were on the second floor this time and the room we were in was 22 degrees. We do not usually keep our house that warm. The wall thermostat was set at 19 when we arrived at 5pm. We went for supper and returned to go to the pool. Even after the pool, the temperature had not changed in the room. The unit under the window, the controls had been removed on it at and just blew the room air around. This lead to a horrible night of tossing and turning unable to sleep with no blankets on to accomodate for the temperature. Also, all of the balls for the play area had been removed since we were last there and the pool chemical smell was overhwelming (a sign of high urine levels in the water). For $180 I would have expected to be able to adjust the temperature in our room at the least.
Otherwise, room was clean and hotel staff were good for check in/out as that is all we required. We were there for a day surgery for our son the following morning.
