Hotel Fairmont Winnipeg

Le petite chef was entertaining and fun. Quality of food was.ok but it didn't blow.us away.

Beautiful, elegant, and historical hotel. Our room on the 12th floor had water damage in the ceiling of the shower to the point that the paint/jiproc was bowing. Didn't affect the shower, just the esthetics. One vending machine (for pop) in the entire hotel and it was completely empty. The front desk staff were able to get some drinks for us as the mini bars in the rooms were unstocked as well. Beware the paid parking. If you want parkade parking, it only has 6 foot clearance which isn't enough for most SUV's let alone a truck. Otherwise you are outdoors in a security guarded lot.

This used to be the go to hotel for our family's couple times a year trip to Winnipeg. It has a nice location, rooms, beds, and view. We used to love to go up to the pool area. It was nice and warm in there, with a smaller hot tub, the pool, sauna, and nice lounging chairs. One of my favorite memories up there my husband took naps on while I read and looked out the windows. When we were here New Years 2022 we were told it was closed for renovations. We excitedly waited to see what was being and this Christmas but when we visited we were disappointed. The area looked the same except the hot tub was taken out and a wall was in its place. The pool was on the cooler side so we walked laps to stay warm. With no hot tub releasing heat the pool area wasn't all that warm either. We saw multiple couples come in to the pool area disappointed there was no hot tub. Adults more often prefer a good hot tub over a pool. It still has the nice view, comfortable beds and good location but we may start trying out some other hotels in Winnipeg as we enjoy relaxing in a hot tub and by a pool.

I booked and paid for a room with a king bed, and only received a queen bed. So back to the lobby to get the proper room, just to be told it would be an additional $100 to get a king bed. (My booking very clearly shows I booked a king bed) the staff was not helpful at all trying to resolve this. Our room had pink stains all over the carpet. Another thing that bothered me was the parking that is not included with a stay. You need to pay an additional $25 to park. I was assured my vehicle would be parked underground, but it was left in the snow all night. Overall this hotel does not deserve to fly the Fairmont brand, it's old and not even close to a luxury stay. It needs renovated, and better management.

Le Petit Chef was amazing! So delicious! Going back again for a second time with friends! Don’t miss the opportunity to experience a culinary delight. Hotel looks great with Christmas decor and Jolly Gnome bar in the lobby.

Great experience! Very friendly and unconditionally helpful in every regard. Experienced the Le Petit Chef dinner event at the Fairmont Winnipeg Velvet Glove and can unequivocally state that it was a fun event watching your personal 3D mini chef comedically prepare your meal and then have the same real meal placed infront of you. Another high quality Fairmont experience. Perfect!

Well below the standards of a Fairmont. Rooms old, out dated, stains on chairs.really ashame. Really needs a refreb badly. Don't make this a pick.

Showed up for check-in at 4pm (one hour after designated time) and was told room wasn’t ready and it would be 1.5 hours until it was. Was only offered a lesser room as consolation and nothing else. Won’t be staying here again.

Fairmont is fairmont. They have this winnie the pooh deco at Winnipeg location which is nice. They have parking space at the entrance so my friend who arrived bit early to pick me up wasn’t worried about where to go. Small construction for the entrance going on now (nov/21) Great to have bathtubs in these days.

First time staying at a Canadian hotel and thought it was classy. Then I went to Holiday Inn and realized Fairmont was super outdated and ridiculously expensive. They only redeeming quality was customer service.

Not terrible but there are better places to stay depending on your preferences. Details you would expect from the Fairmont brand get missed. For instance, the lamp bulb was burned out so couldn't turn it on, there was mouldy deli meat and cheese in the fridge and it was a bit dusty with some dirt. Parking is a bit of a hassle because have to walk outside from the parkade to get into the building. But it is a downtown location so you have to expect parking to be a bit more difficult. It is certainly in a great location; looking out the window you feel like you're right in the centre of a big city with all the hussle and bustle, but the sound proofing is decent so not much noise.

Nice hotel with good food. Some parts of the hotel need updating. The pool has a couple loose tiles and some lights in the hallways need attention. The shower pressure was okay but not great. Room was very clean when we arrived and the staff were very accomidating and timely on our requests. Everyone was very polite, would definitely stay again

The hotel looks very impressive when you first walk in. Rooms do not necessarily match it though. Beds are 5/5: very comfortable and a nice bathroom. It was a little noisy and we had issues with our room that was supposedly an upgrade. The regular room was MUCH nicer than the “upgrade”. I got very frustrated with waiting around as we were headed to a wedding reception so it was unfortunate that it took 30 minutes to get it straitened out. Overall I would say not a 4 star experience but not terrible.

Suite was super nice (cloud like king size bed), top notch food and AWESOME service from booking to parking to room service to check out etc! Will go again!

We spent 3 nights (October 16 to 19,2021) there. Very nice and helpful staff, and great food at the lounge! We liked the pool on the top floor and the room service was great too!

1. Free Wi-Fi is included but there is no mentioning of how to login at checkin until I called the front desk.
2. The front desk lady kept pulling her mask off when speaking which was really frustrating because she would wear her mask normally and only take it off to talk.
3. The parking is not within the building but rather in an adjacent connected building.
4. Only two people were at the front desk so when checking in there was a really long queue.

Had to change rooms late night. Key card to the room won't work. Then there was a fire scare at my room and had to pack again to move to a different room.

We booked two rooms and I specifically asked for connecting rooms as we were traveling with small children. When we arrived they gave us two non connecting rooms and the lady at the front desk didn't seem to care that that would not work for my family. It was a really hard stay for that reason.
The package I booked also included welcome cherry chocolates, was missing from one of the rooms.
Lastly, prepare yourself for no housekeeping services due to covid

The coffee maker was hidden but eventually discovered. Had to make do with tap water. Bed was nice and the bathroom was fine. Great view of the city centre. But the hot tub and the sauna were both closed, possibly covid? The pool made up for it by being cranked up to a rediculous heat! Perfect for relaxing, would be tough for laps. The gym had great equipment and was spotless. But the parking garage is not attached and a little confusing to get to. Definitely a mixed (and rambling) review.

A great stay! Came for my girlfriends birthday weekend. Took in a jets game and took advantage of the walkways leading right to the arena. Staff were extremely friendly and treated us with the utmost respect. Room service was amazing as the restaurant makes high quality food every time. Highly recommended!

Great front desk service, elevator like an amusement park ride (i have vertigo). Rooms are a little musty smelling but it also smells kinda nostalgic, like your grandparents' basement.we ordered room service which was okay but that chocolate milkshake changed my life.what the heck is in that stuff? ! I'll be back if only for that!

Very disappointed. The room and hallway smelled musty and moldy. Asked for more towels and soap to no avail. No robes. Should of stayed at a Days Inn.

Food was good, service was terrible.had to wait 20 mins for a pickup order, no one came to help or even ask what the line of people were for.waited for an hour when I was told 20 mins on the phone.never again

We love the Fairmont Wpg! A go-to for us when we want a night away from home! The front desk young lady, when we checked in to celebrate our 43rd Anniversary & my 62nd birthday (sorry I didn't get her name) was absolutely charming! She was SO inviting. On hearing why we were there she blessed us with special vouchers! I wish I caught her name because she really deserves a special mention!

Because we were there on Wednesday, the Velvet Glove Restaurant wasn't open. That's alright. We went out for supper. We did, however, enjoy a wonderful & delicious breakfast in our room the next morning.

We enjoyed that they allowed us to check-in at 2: 30 & then check-out for 3pm next day! Although we did leave by 12: 30 (hey, things to do in Wpg) it felt SO wonderful to know we weren't rushed to pack up & "get out". Our room on arrival was, as usual to the Fairmont standard that we've always had, spotless. Unfortunately being on a higher up floor it seems the rooms (ours anyways) aren't quite updated. Other rooms we've had have all been very spacious with a nice bathroom. This one not so much. But hey! The bed was very comfortable. We will of course be back! We'll just ask for rooms we've stayed in in the past!

Evening receptionist is not properly trained and accommodating, a lil bit rude the way he approached me about my company's reservation. My company fully paid my 3 nights stay and still the guy charged me for a deposit of almost $900.room carpet is dirty, im not coming back

Booked a Kiss and Wake Up package for a night and had a wonderful experience. Check in was easy and all the staff people we interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. The champagne and strawberries were delicious and we enjoyed a morning swim in the pool. There was a little hiccup with our in room breakfast with us not getting utensils, but the hotel made it right. Would be happy to stay there again.

Staycation for Valentine’s Day. Service was great. Room was lovely. Nice views. None of the amenities were available due to Covid, which was understandable. Room service took over an hour for dinner, but breakfast the next morning was very quick. Food was incredible, but quite pricey. Movies were $25 to rent which is extremely expensive considering how much the room and food cost.

Stayed in this hotel for a staycation pre lockdown and the staff were so welcoming and made the stay felt so comfortable and safe. Aryanne, the lady at the front desk made sure that our staycation was stress free and she kept checking in on us and made sure we have everything we need. We felt safe despite of this pandemic and the hotel is great at following the covid rules and regulations. Hoping to stay here again real soon!

We can define there service exquisite. From reservation, to entering the site, from receptionist, clean Room, and the food service so exceptional. We will definitely looking forward to visit this Hotel

Our guests and my husband and I were absolutely blown away by the customer service, professionalism, work ethic and food at our wedding at the Fairmont. We have been getting such positive feedback about the whole experience from our guests. One guest even said "this is the best food I’ve ever been served at a wedding. " I would give the Fairmont 5,000 stars if I could. I would recommend having your big day at the Fairmont to all my friends and family. Special thanks to Eric Schon for working with me throughout the whole planning process, and to all Fairmont staff for making my wedding so special and for treating us with utmost care throughout the whole process.

Staff was very friendly. Shower was not working in our room and staff promptly issued us a new room. Food was great from VG. Only complaint is that a lot of the furniture was pretty old and needed replacing. Side tables and chair legs were chipping and one of the drawers in the refreshment station was broken and would fall off the tracks. Overall it was a nice stay

My family and I picked up 4 individual dinners along with 1/2 turkey dinner yesterday from the Fairmont, Winnipeg. This was the first time trying it out and since we could not have dinner with our families due to Covid-19 rules, we decided to bring a turkey dinner to them and happily dropped them off with our own to enjoy. Wow, it was fantastic! Tasty and a complete meal which even came with pretty butter swirls. The process of picking it up was smooth as the teams were very organized and efficient. I especially appreciated their checking the contents over with us to make sure all was there. The pecan pie was devine and all of it was hot and ready to serve when we got home. What a great team and they worked hard on Christmas Eve which was very appreciated by us. All the staff I encountered were talkative and wished me a happy holiday.

Service was very good, a lot of friendly staff. Food from VG restaurant was awesome and offered at a reasonable price. The room was ok, but would probably need some renovations in the near future. Overall, would recommend.

From the moment we got out of our car until check-out time going back in the car, every single one of the staff was very friendly. They made our family’s staycation extra special. The room was perfect and the bathroom, amazing! The food was so good, my family was blown away! Thank you. My daughter can not wait to go back.

You call yourself a fancy hotel and you don't even have a honeymoon suite? ! Your overpriced platinum suite are soo not worth it!

I've had the pleasure of staying here for 12 nights on an emergency business trip; fantastic service, excellent team! One couldn't ask for a better experience.

From the front end team greeting and helping the moment you get to the front entrance, to the front admin team taking care of everything quickly, efficiently, and organized, to the management team acknowledging you with happiness and respect; ensuring the stay is perfect and thanking for the opportunity to take care of me, to the restaurant team preparing great meals, and delivering with class.

The food is wonderful, as is the atmosphere. Highly recommend The Fairmont Winnipeg for a clean, enjoyable, and safe stay when away from home, or just wanting to get out.

The parkade clearance is only 183CM, haven’t seen any parkade has such low clearance. So I scratched roof of my car! No sense at all, if you have a SUV be 10000 careful.

Excellent service when I checked in the other night. They got me the perfect room for entertaining my son and his wife. I have stayed here for years and will continue to do so. Yea Dawn!

This hotel has the best customer service or any hotel I have ever stayed at including bother Fairmonts. They really do set the bar. Whether you are staying for business or pleasure stay here, eat here (best breakfast in Winnipeg) and enjoy! Bring the family too!

We used the Christmas Dinner catering service for the second year in a row this year and it is a literal life-saver. The food was amazing again this year, and the stress it removed from our large family gathering was worth every single penny. The staff was super organized and helpful as always and even double-checked our order with us before we left. Will be using this service again next Christmas for sure, we highly recommend it!

Attended the Fairmont for their Santa Suite which is a charity event where kids get their pictures taken with Santa. The Suite was very beautiful, however Santa was the fakest looking Santa I've ever seen. His beard was crooked and hung away from his face showing his black stubble underneath. My 6 year old immediately knew it wasn't Santa and had a lot of questions for us afterwards.

Went to the Fairmont for the annual Santa Suite where for $10 you can have your picture taken with Santa and all proceeds go to the Dream Factory. The hotel seemed to be clean and the staff we encountered we're friendly. We got to see one of the penthouse suites which was a very nice room. The hotel is also connected to the sky walk Network so you can shop and walk through downtown Winnipeg in the Winter without getting all bundled up. Also very close to the Entertainment district and the Forks.

A truly amazing hotel. The layout, the staff and location are great. My only complaint was the bathroom had a crack in the wall of the shower which was crudely caulked over and the tub didnt hold water. That's the first time I've ever seen that at thisnhitel so I hope its changed shortly

Probably one of my fave hotels in winnipeg. They always treat me so well here and offer great service. The bar is great. Definitely one of the better hotel bars I've been to.

My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary Nov 4th 2018 at the beautiful Fairmont Winnipeg. We were treated very specially and warmly catered to. We were on the 19th floor and had a private lounge and concierge services at our disposal. My wife was blown away, as this was here first time with such "classy" service and accommodations. A surprise was the towel cake center of the bed and rose petals scattered around the 'cake'. We enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries and the anniversary wishes we found in our room. Thank you for this wonderful Gift to us, especially for my wife,

Very friendly and nice staff, clean and the staff welcome you at yr vehicle by opening doors and park yr vehicle and bring your bags to your room for you.differently will stay here again.

Christmas work party. Absolutely wonderful experience. I hope we have the work Christmas party here every year. Excellent food, excellent service, superb location. I rate my evening here a 10 out of 10.

I was in a gold room nothing really special about it except had a gold plaque on the door. Room service was great food was delicious. Also for gold members they had a complimentary snack room/ beverages room I believe on the 19th floor with everything you can imagine (cold beers, sweet treats and so much more)
