The sign says this is Manitoba's hardest trail and to give yourself all day but I did it in 4 hours. The terrain is rough, but overall a very enjoyable hike and I'm not sure I would classify it as the hardest. You are close to the lake the whole way.

Love this place! Super cute lake and very peaceful except for the highway next to it. I bet before the highway was built it was paradise

How do you rate a trail? What are the expectations of how a nature hiking trail should be? I suppose it would include a clear path, good signage, clean toilet at the trail head… what else? I mean it’s nature right? How do tell nature it is anything other than 5 stars? I caught a garter snake, that was kinda cool, but not 5 star cool. 4 stars would be meeting my expectations, 5 star and it would have to be so great I’d want to do it every weekend.
There were some arrows on the path that could have been clearer but you aren’t going to get lost. The path went through a swampy area that probably wouldn’t be as bad if it hadn’t just rained. There are nice views and it’s challenging given the regular up and down of the terrain and the distance. Not your beginner trail. I’m 6 feet, 170 lbs and run regularly so it wasn’t a big deal, but my partner who is much heavier than I was sucking wind so loudly I could hear him. We only made it half way as a result (so really that’s a quarter of the way if you turn around and go back the way you came), and that took us 2 hours and 40 minutes. I’ll go back and finish it in the fall and give a better review.
Bring snacks, water, sturdy hard sole shoes, bear deterrent, mosquito spray and maybe a bathing suit if you want to have a dip where the trail meets the shore.

Great place with excellent views. The trail is not easy, there are many climbs and descents on sharp and sometimes wet stones, there are wetlands, it is better to give preference to hiking shoes.

A beautiful lake, many places where you can swim, but there are also a lot of mosquitoes, you must definitely take a spray. The trail is cool, but you need special shoes, because there are a lot of stones and roots, and your feet are rubbed in ordinary shoes.

One of my favorite hikes. The best time is coming in the summer when you can swim in the end of a trail and eat lunch with the sounds of nature.

This trail is quiet challenging so plan ahead before you go for a comfortable hike. And bring water

If you are into challenging hikes, I definitely recommend it. Wear proper footwear when going hiking it. It gets pretty tough with rocks at the end.

This hike is very challenging, not for beginners or groups with small children. Some of the climbs are very steep and can get tricky. However, the views and scenery are amazing.

It took our group (mostly casual hikers) 6 hours to complete the hike, and I was cramping towards the end. Bring lots of water and food. You can also bring some bathing suits for swimming.
