Ok so I don’t even have the words to describe how much we absolutely loved our experience with Mel at Iron Lotus! We had booked a group tattoo appointment. My mom, my daughters and myself had a vision of what we wanted and Mel made that vision a tattoo! Walking into the shop is welcoming and warm. Everyone was kind and friendly. The 4 of us sat for about 4 1/2 hours and there wasn’t a dull moment. We laughed and made a great memory. Mel was patient with the 2 who has never had a tattoo, my mom, who’s 76 and my daughter who’s 22. She walked them through the process, explained that’s their feelings of nerves were valid. If you ever have the opportunity to meet Mel and get some art done by her, do it! Thank you so much for being such an amazing shop! See you again…. SOON!

I really wanted to leave a great review, because our piercer was awesome. Cleanliness was perfect, and she was professional, cheerful and fun to work with!
However, and this is a BIG however, the pricing is VERY misleading. Their info states piercing cost + jewelry. But there are NO prices anywhere for the jewelry! The actual piercings I got were $50 each, so $100 but then I was charged $170 on top of that for two earrings - 1 plain flat back stud with large plain metal bead (they were out of rings in the size needed, also a disappointment but I can't imagine what that would have cost me) and a tiny bird shaped flat back. That's $85 plus tax PER EARRING! And that does NOT include the downsize of the bars later (you get a 10% discount on any additional jewelry). The highest price I could find online for similar implant grade titanium earrings was $20. That's a $65 mark-up EACH! Add to the fact that this was sprung after the piercings were done!
Yes, I should have been pushier about pricing beforehand, but I've had a lot of different piercings done at other studios (eyebrow, nose, lip, tongue, bellybutton, etc.) so I never imagined they'd charge more than $50/earring, which I thought should be the worst case scenario and compensate for receiving a piercer's expertise (although that should be part of the cost of doing the actual piercing). So I paid, and tipped because that's how I roll, but word to the wise, watch their pricing!

The place is so chill. Cash only keeping it simple and having flexibility. Priced by peice so I can save up.

I am very happy with Iron Lotus. Karsten is very good and careful when he is doing my piercings. He is very patient with me and makes sure I am happy with the results. I would recommend him. They have a nice display of jewelery as well. It is quite expensive getting piercings because you have to pay for the piercing itself, the jewelery, and tax on top of that but I think that other shops would be much the same though. I will go back for more piercings in the future.
